Genesis Maker: The Indian Marvel (Rewrite)

Chapter 46: Ch.43: The Trial of Destiny

________________________________________

Note - Before you read the chapter. I should clarify the thing I know a lot of people will ask in future. Here, the Reincarnated soul who was Vikramaditya, he wasn't from the same universe as Aryan's previous life, and had actually come from a different universe where he didn't have any prior knowledge of Marvel universe, and he built the empire, made connections and acquired knowledge on his own.

Now, Here's the chapter:

________________________________________

- Memory Palace -

- August, 10, 1936-

Vikramaditya exhaled, his gaze shifting toward the horizon. The golden light of the setting sun bathed Ujjain in an ethereal glow, but his expression remained distant—burdened with memories too heavy to share in their entirety.

"The details…" he murmured, his voice measured, "would take time we do not have. This Memory Palace will not hold for much longer." He turned back to Aryan, the weight of centuries in his eyes. "But you must know the outcome."

Aryan remained silent, knowing when to listen.

Vikramaditya's hands clasped behind his back, his posture unwavering even as he spoke of his greatest battle.

"Kang was unlike any other enemy I faced. He did not challenge me directly. Instead, he manipulated the tides of war from the shadows, weaving a web of conflicts I could not avoid." His jaw tightened. "Through deceit and persuasion, he made the Kree, the Skrulls, and the Shi'ar—three empires that could never see eye to eye—stand united against me. Their fleets darkened the skies, stretching my armies to their limits."

Aryan frowned. That level of coordination between such historically divided factions was almost unheard of.

"But Kang did not stop there," Vikramaditya continued. "He arranged for Galactus himself to descend upon our world."

Aryan's eyes widened slightly. A war against the Kree, Skrulls, and Shi'ar was already a nightmare—but Galactus?

"I had allies, strong ones," Vikramaditya admitted. "Odin and Vishnu stood against the Devourer of Worlds, their combined might delaying his hunger. But even they could not afford to falter." He shook his head. "The Ancient One was drawn into another battlefield, trapped in a clash against Nightmare and Dormammu. With our greatest protectors occupied, Earth was left vulnerable."

Aryan clenched his fists, already sensing where this was going.

"I fought," Vikramaditya said simply. "Alongside my warriors, alongside my allies in the gods and beyond. We held the line."

His voice grew quieter.

"But even I was not beyond Kang's reach."

A cold realization settled over Aryan.

"Kang did not defeat me with strength," Vikramaditya admitted. "He outmaneuvered me. In the chaos of battle, he struck where I could not predict—sealing me in a prison beyond time itself."

Aryan's breath stilled.

"I do not know its origin," Vikramaditya confessed. "It was not of any realm I had knowledge of, nor did it follow the logic of time as we know it. I was trapped in a loop, my existence frozen while the universe continued without me."

He closed his eyes briefly, as if recalling the prison's suffocating grasp.

"I will not bore you with the long explanation and tell you that escaping was not impossible. But the cost…" His voice grew heavy. "It required a sacrifice."

Aryan's throat tightened. He didn't need to hear the rest to understand.

"I burned through the majority of my life force," Vikramaditya said, his tone even, unflinching. "And though I returned, though I fought once more, preventing Kang from stealing the throne, which wasn't possible by normal means due to it being bonded with me, then leading my army and my allies to defend Earth until victory was ours… I did not have many years left to live, unfortunately."

Silence stretched between them.

"The Ancient One suggested a method," Vikramaditya admitted. "Borrowed power from other dimensions to sustain my existence. But such things come with a cost." His gaze darkened. "A dependence that could unravel not just my soul, but the balance of my realm itself."

Aryan understood. Some prices were too great to pay.

"And so," Vikramaditya said, looking at Aryan with unwavering certainty, "I had to prepare for my departure."

He turned away, walking toward the throne. The golden seat, adorned with jewels, stood as a relic of an era long past—an empire built by a reincarnated king.

"I had children," he admitted. "Good children. Brave, intelligent… but none of them could sit upon this throne." He placed a hand upon it, his fingers tracing the ancient carvings. "It acknowledged only me. No one else."

Aryan exhaled softly. A throne that did not simply belong to a dynasty—but to a soul.

"So I searched," Vikramaditya continued, his voice quieter now. "Through divination, through glimpses into what lay beyond. And in time, I found you."

Aryan stilled.

"I watched you," Vikramaditya admitted. "I saw you walk the path I once did—a reincarnated soul, void-touched, shaped by fate yet carving your own destiny." A faint smile crossed his lips. "You became my hope, Aryan."

Aryan met his gaze. There was no weight of expectation in those words. Only trust.

"So I prepared," Vikramaditya said. "The throne could not be passed as it was, so I changed it. I converted its essence into these." He gestured toward Aryan's wrists. "The bracelets, waiting for its rightful heir."

Aryan looked down at the bands encircling his arms.

"But power should not be given freely," Vikramaditya said. "It must be earned." His expression sharpened. "The throne's thirty-two celestial spirits have been scattered across dimensions. They will test you. If you are worthy, you will reclaim them. Only then will the throne be yours."

Aryan lifted his gaze once more.

No hesitation. No fear.

Just understanding.

Vikramaditya watched him for a long moment, then smiled.

"Your trials begin now."

Aryan let out a long breath, the weight of realization settling within him.

This life… this world…

He had cherished everything it had given him—the power, the opportunities, and, most importantly, the people who had become his family. Yet, despite it all, there had always been a lingering question in the back of his mind.

Why was he here?

The being who reincarnated him had spoken of a test, but no clear answers had ever been given. He had walked forward regardless, carving his own path, but now—finally—he had a piece of the puzzle.

This was part of it.

His purpose wasn't just to exist with these gifts but to prove himself. Not just for his own sake but for the world and the people he had come to love.

A slow, determined smile spread across his face. This was an opportunity. And he had never been one to waste those.

He lifted his gaze to Vikramaditya, his resolve firm.

"Then I, Aryan Rajvanshi, accept your trials," he declared. "I will prove myself worthy."

Vikramaditya studied him, eyes searching for any trace of hesitation. Finding none, he nodded.

But Aryan had one more question.

"You said the celestial spirits were scattered across dimensions. How do I find them?"

Vikramaditya gave a knowing smile. "The bracelets will guide you," he said simply.

Before Aryan could ask more, the air around them wavered. The Memory Palace was beginning to collapse. The golden hues of the ancient throne room flickered, replaced by the endless void beyond its walls. The illusion was breaking.

Vikramaditya took a step back, his form beginning to fade.

"Farewell, Aryan," he said, his voice steady. "And good luck. Do not disappoint me."

Aryan met his gaze one last time.

"I won't."

The world shattered around him, light swallowing everything—

And then, he was back.

The familiar scent of incense and aged parchment filled his lungs. The soft mattress pressed against his bottom, in the position in which he sat before drifting into that memory palace. The air of Kamar-Taj carried a stillness that contrasted the chaos of moments before.

Before him, two figures sat, watching him intently.

The Ancient One—his aged features marked with wisdom from lifetimes of knowledge. And beside him, the Sorcerer Supreme, her piercing gaze unreadable.

Both studied him in silence.

Aryan exhaled, straightening his posture.

Aryan barely had a moment to process the gazes of the Ancient One and the Sorcerer Supreme before his mind was abruptly interrupted.

A notification flashed In his consciousness.

| Ding |

| Host has inherited a treasure and the hopes of an ancient king. The weight of a lost throne now rests upon you. |

| Main Quest Issued:

Become the Emperor of India.

Fulfill the requirements of the Bracelets and complete them with the 32 Celestial Spirit Gems.

Ascend beyond, to claim your destiny as the Emperor of this world. |

Aryan inhaled sharply.

So this was it.

He had taken on responsibilities before, but this—this was something far greater. To unite India, to rebuild what had been lost, and to prove himself worthy of Vikramaditya's throne. It wasn't just about power. It was about becoming a ruler capable of carrying the weight of an empire.

His fists clenched slightly.

This was more than just a mission. This was a calling.

He exhaled, his mind calming. The path was clear now. There was no room for hesitation. He had made his choice.

His focus snapped back to reality as he felt the expectant gazes of the two most powerful sorcerers in Kamar-Taj.

The Ancient One raised an eyebrow with a knowing smile, his voice calm yet playful.

"You disappeared into the gem's light for quite some time," he remarked. "Did you you see him?"

The Sorcerer Supreme crossed her arms, observing him with sharp eyes.

Aryan rolled his shoulders and met their gazes evenly.

"Yes," he said. "And in the process, I discovered my destiny and the trials I need to take to achieve them."
