Gate Hunters

Chapter #5 New/Friends

My negative gift manifests as fire, but it's not just any flame—it's a distinct bluish-white fire that I alone can wield. This flame burns with an intensity greater than that of blue fire, yet it also has the ability to heal both myself and others, provided my intentions are pure and free of malice.

I demonstrated that in front of Ruby and her two colleagues.

"That's my innate and negative gift in a nutshell. I won't reveal anything more than that because I want to keep it as a trump card," I said, after putting out the flames.

When it comes to my powers.

I genuinely don't want too many people to know my abilities for two current reasons:

1)Former members of my clan, particularly those absent on the aforementioned night, remain alive. Should they discover my whereabouts, they intend to harness my power to rebuild their dominions. It has come to my attention that they are clandestinely obtaining government backing and privileged intelligence through the GEA.

2)My true abilities will be the only reason people will target me or anyone close to me. Death can be avoided by another century if I were to give my life for that future.

I moved away from centre and allowed the next person to share their talents, "Alright hon, my abilities are solely water. Allow me to demonstrate." Ruby was a prime example of a normal Gift User.

If we looked at our element chances: Fire, water, lighting and earth are commonly used for every hunter.

The uncommon elements are a bit harder to find but do appear in the population: Wind, metal, shadow and poison. Currently one of them is mine.

The rare elements are exactly what the name implies: Light, Darkness, Blood and gravity.

And finally, ultra rare gifts: Void, Time, Chaos and Order. All I can say is that you lucky to born.

Even if you were born with a rare power, the likelihood of discovering its true potential is almost non-existent.

Both Ruby's positive and negative energy resembles that of water.

She showed me both how she harnesses the negative energy that she kept deep within herself to cut through a steel table.

Afterwards she showed her positive power to perform a healing ability within the room.

"Isn't it glamorous honey?" Ruby asked with a cheerful smile.

"Well I'm impressed. You know how to create a show." I responded to her question with a smile. I'm truly smitten by her charms.

The team leader rose from his corner after observing our skills and declared, "My ability is purely lightning." Peter then showcased this by darting around the room at a blinding speed, ultimately coming to a halt behind me with his right hand on my left shoulder.

With a confident grin, he proclaimed, "Despite my age, I'm still powerful enough to defeat a top-tier Hunter. So, kid, show some respect for my name."

I actually starting to like this group.

Finally, there was Molly. "Um, I'm not sure how to use my Gifts. However, like Krist, I possess an innate ability known as System Guidance." Her eyes shone brightly as she displayed a digital information board.

She described her abilities as primarily being used to locate Gates, identify various gifted individuals, facilitate communication over any distance, and inspect Gates to determine their contents.

Her abilities have proven to be the most useful among them all. Moreover, it is evident that she has not yet fully completed her awakening.

If she is not careful, she will be hunted down.

"This power of yours is very impressive if I have to say." I said.

Molly suddenly became shy and covered her face, "Thank you... it's really nothing special. I tend to rely on others because I struggle to protect myself. I feel quite useless, actually."

Ruby approached Molly and gently patted her on the head, saying, "We are all useful, whether we need protection or not. Being protected doesn't make us weak; it simply makes us human." Molly began to smile and received a warm, comforting hug from Ruby.

How interesting...so this is the team.

An old man around the age of fifty with the physique of a bodybuilder.

And a young girl who looked like she still in high school due to her appearance.

I can't deny that this was very interesting group.

That I got involved in.
