It was difficult for Luca's Ma to say yes again and again because of her charitable expression.

Her eyes fell on the sports car next to Jason Liu, and she couldn't help but exclaim, "Ouch!" Her voice became louder. "Oops, this is the Ferrari you bought, Jason, right? Wow, it's so beautiful, it looks amazing! I heard the price of this sports car is several million; it's very famous, exactly what young people like..."

Once they arrived into the house, Jason Liu washed his hands, and everyone sat down together in the dining room.

Sister Liu Wan had cooked several dishes: scrambled eggs with tomatoes, fried pork with green peppers, cucumbers with garlic, and eggs with garlic and ginger—simple, but delicious dishes.

There was a pot of chicken soup in the center, the clear broth looking appetizing.

It seemed that sister had been cooking for the Xu family for years, and her cooking skills were truly impressive. Jason Liu couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness for her.

Lila carried her own stool and sat next to his uncle, while Noah sat between his sister and mother.

Luca's father pulled out a bottle of liquor and was going to have a drink with Jason Liu, but he refused.

"I'll be driving home after dinner," Jason Liu said.

The meal went by quickly. Jason Liu didn't want to stay too long at liquor house, feeling uncomfortable under overly enthusiastic attention.

The atmosphere at the dinner table wasn't as awkward as he had feared, because Luca's Ma, having worked as a grassroots cadre, was skilled at making conversation and could always find topics to talk about with him.
