Chapter 118: Chapter 118 - Attacking the Wall 01.
[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]
Third Person POV.
Westeros.
...
...
Jon was embracing Daenerys, while she kept her naked body pressed against his, to keep warm as they shared the bed alone.
He usually slept every night with his spear-wives, sharing moments with all four.
Lucis and Daenerys were the most shy about it, seeing Val and Ygritte not caring as they rode Jon and moaned with pleasure there, even teasing the others.
Daenerys was the last to share those moments after she began sleeping with Jon, he always kept her in the same tent to take care of her, so there wasn't much sex with the other girls there, and Jon had to do it with them outside the tent or when Daenerys was with one of them outside.
However, upon realizing Jon was sleeping with Daenerys—after all, she herself seemed to want to show it—Jon began turning his nights into debauchery with the four women, having to perform to satisfy them all equally.
It was mid-morning when Jon had met Daenerys earlier, and they ended up making love. But now Jon had to start taking action, so he left her making sure she was well covered not to get cold and began getting dressed.
"You're already leaving..."
He heard her as she opened her eyes.
"It's time to act. Tonight we're bringing down the Wall."
Jon said as he finished getting ready.
"I see..."
She commented, deep in thought.
"So tomorrow we'll be in the South?"
She asked.
"Most likely."
Jon replied.
"Good luck, Daemon. Though I doubt you need it."
She murmured.
"Just stay here with the wolves and Lucis. Tomorrow you'll march through the North as the queen you were born to be."
Jon said as she smiled.
Jon left the tent and began advancing through the camp, quite agitated, with men running back and forth. His gaze fell on the direwolves beside the tent and they immediately knew what to do, entering the tent to ensure Daenerys's safety.
"How good it is to be a Warg... surely having such an ability from the beginning of my journey would have helped me a lot..."
Jon couldn't help but comment on how his life in Skyrim would have been if he had demonstrated this ability, but he only developed it here in this world, even though he had been here again for less than two years.
He was sure that some of his friends would go crazy studying these abilities, after all, it was a branch of magic that didn't exist in Skyrim, but either way, he pushed the thought aside and moved among the tents toward those closest to the Wall.
Mance was talking with the other leaders gathered with the wargs, giving information about the Wall, something they had already been doing earlier.
"Well... how are things?"
Jon asked calmly.
Mance looked at him.
"We were informed that the Lord Commander has decided they will fight us and do not intend to hand the Wall over to you."
He said.
"I see... that was already expected. I want everyone gathered for combat, we'll attack tonight and before dawn, we'll be moving the people south."
Jon said.
"Jon... Why can't we wait a little longer? Don't you think that if we passed a group of men to the other side of the Wall to invade Castle Black, it would be better?"
One of the men then asked Jon.
Jon simply shook his head in response.
"We've waited too long already. We'll finish off the Night's Watch tonight."
He said as he walked away, wanting to organize the rest of the camp, finding Val and Ygritte with Della and her baby, while Lucis was with her aunt helping organize the group under Karsi's care.
Jon kept walking past the groups as everyone greeted him, expecting he was about to give some order or clarification about the Wall, but Mance was handling that while Jon continued toward the northern part of the camp.
He made his way to where the prisoners were, walking alone after dismissing anyone who wanted to follow him—after all, he would be heading elsewhere afterward—while approaching his uncle among the prisoners.
Benjen immediately looked at Jon with strange feelings.
The other men watched Jon cautiously, as he kept his gaze fixed on Benjen.
"Uncle Benjen... tomorrow you'll be crossing the Wall again."
Jon said.
Benjen looked at him more seriously.
"Jon, are you really going through with this, planning to bring down the Wall...?"
Jon knew that as a ranger, even after learning the full truth, Benjen clearly saw Jon fighting for everything he had once fought for, while his nephew was now moving to defeat the entire Wall, leading the largest group of wildlings ever seen in the history of the eight thousand years.
He knew Jon had a great chance of breaking the Wall, fully aware of how many rangers were actually stationed there.
How could they hold back 180,000 wildlings like the ones here, with tents spread in all directions without even seeing where they ended?
"What do you think? These people are fleeing from death. Otherwise, it won't be 180,000 wildlings like you like to call them, but 180,000 corpses marching south—and those... you won't be able to negotiate with."
Jon said.
"..."
Benjen seemed torn—he had seen that the threat was real, and Jon made sure they witnessed the dead every day since they were captured.
"Either way, I won't kill you. I still hope you take care of the Wall after this is over. The dead are coming, and we need to defend the realm of men, just like your oath says when joining the Night's Watch."
Jon said.
"I don't believe you... White Walkers, an army of the dead—you're just making excuses to cross the Wall with your wildling lovers!"
Someone in the group shouted, spitting on the ground.
There were some members of the free folk there, keeping watch over the prisoners, obviously.
"Oh, what do we have here... He was one of the last we captured. It's a shame he didn't stay with the dead long enough to believe in them."
Jon said, while most of the others knew exactly what Jon was about to do.
"You should stay quiet... don't you see the state Boruno is in? He ended up like that because of what this guy did to him..."
His companion said, pointing to Boruno, who stood there trembling in silence the whole time.
He no longer spoke, and that ranger certainly remembered Boruno as always being a cheerful man of the Watch.
Either way, Jon turned back to the men.
"Tie him up. Let him stay with the dead for a few hours."
Jon ordered, and the free folk quickly approached, grabbing the man who struggled in fear of what was coming.
He was tied to a pillar.
While four crates were handled by two people, a kind of animal was growling, and the man panicked when an undead was thrown down, tied at the arms and legs, gagged, but constantly growling and staring at everyone.
That immediately terrified the ranger.
"What is that thing?!"
He murmured, realizing there were three more around him.
The free folk began untying them while chaining them to a pillar fixed in the ground.
Before cutting their legs and kicking them as they were attacked, the dead fell to the ground, the men backed away, and they ran at them again—but the chains stopped them from getting any closer.
"Ahhh!"
The man screamed desperately as one of the four dead ran straight at him, stopping a meter away, just out of reach.
At the same time, the other three dead charged at him as well, while the man looked around in terror, the undead raising their hands to grab him at the limit of their chains, growling like macabre beings.
"AHHHH!!!"
The same man who had mocked Jon's words was now surrounded by the dead as they tried to reach him.
This was Jon's treatment for those rangers who didn't believe in the dead, while all the others watched in horror at the sight of their companion surrounded by undead, screaming in desperate terror, beginning to cry and sob amid the snarls of those trying to kill him.
For some, it was a scene they had already witnessed two or three times—Jon always doing this to torture them and show who the real enemy was, not caring about traumatizing some of them like Boruno.
Jon left them and continued farther north, past all the tents and into the still-thick forest, heading toward a clearing with some broken trees, where Winter stood waiting.
"How are you, girl?"
Jon asked in the Old Tongue, speaking to the female dragon, as the dragon looked at him.
The dragon simply snorted.
"I want you to be ready. We'll be fighting tonight."
Jon said as the dragon seemed to nod in understanding.
"You really enjoyed destroying those castles down south, didn't you?
Tonight won't be as exciting... unfortunately, we still need the Wall intact, but we're definitely going to scare a lot of people."
Jon said.
He continued organizing the camp as night began to fall.
Jeor Mormont looked out toward the forest filled with burning campfires.
"It will be tonight..."
He murmured, watching the movement as the first men began emerging from the forest.
"Prepare for battle! Tonight, they'll begin the attack!!"
He roared immediately, as the men started running back and forth, the free folk quickly marching and moving into separated group positions.
Men shouted from atop the Wall as everyone prepared—arrows, pitch, stones, and all kinds of traps were being set for the coming battle.
What they didn't expect was that while they were all looking downward, something was striking from the sky, advancing toward them at that very moment as its wings flew toward the Wall.
Jon was flying on Winter from above, and no one had noticed him.
"Let's start the show."
Jon said as his men below already knew what was about to happen, though clearly, they would look at him differently after tonight, as he lifted his head, looking at the starry sky—which would have been good for the Watch due to the visibility, but that was about to change.
"Strun Bah Qo!!"
He roared with his Shout atop Winter, as the power burst into the sky the next moment.
Everyone looked up, seeing the bluish energy flying, unable to clearly see the dragon, while the free folk already knew it was the power of their leader.
The Watch, however, frowned in confusion, wondering what that sound—like thunder—had been.
Jeor Mormont was watching the sky cautiously, until he began to feel the wind and noticed the weather was changing right then and there.
"What is this?!"
His men murmured in fear as the sky began to completely change, forming storm-filled clouds and thunder as the wind started to throw them off balance.
Even the people at Castle Black looked stunned at the sky above the Wall, as lightning began to flash across the heavens.
Even the free folk began to run as rain started to pour down on the camp from above, while the women, children, and elderly—those who couldn't fight—remained there.
Everyone rushed to the tents at that moment.
The Night's Watch soon began to lose visibility of what was happening below them, with the heavy rain limiting their sight, and even the free folk could barely see anything.
Jon ignored all the commotion happening below and leaned Winter downward, the dragon obeying as she descended toward the Wall.
ROOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Jeor was shouting at his men when a roar—different from Jon's previous Shout—drew everyone's attention.
They looked forward as their eyes widened, the lightning in the sky illuminating the area and revealing what was approaching them.
The white beast beat its wings, flying straight at them, and it quickly became clear that it was larger than anything they had ever seen in their lives—it was flying right at them.
In the next moment, they knew the truth.
There was no doubt.
It was a dragon.
And they were its target.
Winter began to open her mouth as a white light started to glow from within, aiming directly at the Night's Watch atop the Wall.
