Chapter 1149 - Magic
After finishing his business with the Magic Goddess, Alex returned to the previous world and specifically searched for a fight, so Eve could fulfill her desire.
To their surprise, they ended up finding the same couple they met not long ago, having another group of pursuers in their tails.
"Master. They're so unlucky." Leka couldn't help but comment.
Alex laughed before shrugging his shoulders. "It's probably because I knocked them unconscious."
"Ah, I see. That's their fault."
"Indeed. Let's watch them. Since I have gotten what I need, there's no need to rush anymore." Alex sat down in the air from afar, watching their every single movement without anyone noticing him. Leka was sitting on his lap as if watching a movie.
Eve, Elle, and Elliot also came out of the weapons as they observed this battle to see the difference between cultivators and magicians.
Alex, on the other hand, activated his Spirit Eyes to see what kind of fight they would show to him.
The man looked at the seven assassins while frowning. They seemed to be releasing a type of dark aura that screamed they were the bad guy. Alex could see killing intent, blood, and other things as if this guy was a mass murderer.
Still, if Alex truly released his everything, none of them would be able to beat him in those areas.
The guy shouted. "Do you think we are afraid of you? We have killed the previous pursuers and since you're courting death, I will grant you right here right now." The guy bluffed, taking advantage of the fact that Alex killed the black-clothed men to shake their emotions.
And it turned out he pretty much succeeded on it as the seven guys flinched. However, the leader shouted while pointing his blade at the guy. "Don't fret. Even if he killed them, he wouldn't have enough energy to spare. We will kill here right now."
With that single shout, the group regained their spirit and raised their swords.
"Yes, but you're too late." The guy tapped the ground two times before a huge magic circle appeared on the ground, enveloping everyone. The next second, they realized ten lights shone in the air as if they tried to purify them.
"Not good! This is a trap." The guys shouted while escaping the magic circle, but the guy was one step faster. The ten lights suddenly fell and hit the ground, exploding white light and engulfing the enemies.
"What is that, Master? I feel enormous energy from it." Leka asked, pointing at the ten lights.
"They are not a Divine Rank Expert yet, so it's just a simple Spiritual Energy. Though I believe this world calls it Magic Power instead. Anyway, cultivators are mostly using our own energy to influence the energy in their surroundings, but the majority portion of every single move comes from our body.
"From what I have seen from that attack, the person attracted the energy around it to create something bigger, allowing him to create that move without using much of his energy. To be honest, that's the reason why I feel like he can keep sending more and more attacks until the energy in the area starts to weaken.
"The Magic Goddess also has done the same thing, so I can assure you that's pretty accurate." Alex nodded with a serious expression as he continued to watch.
After creating that big magic, the female hurriedly helped him with a few magic circles that seemed to be boosting his power. The guy then used that power to create another magic circle before the group could recover.
"Anesta."
To their surprise, the ground began to shake before it emerged from the ground, creating a small hill with him in the center.
Once again, Leka was pretty shocked while saying, "Master, Master. That guy uses two elements. How? Does he have two elements?"
"I don't think so. That guy element is water to be honest. However, I feel like he is saying something that influences the movement of magic power, allowing him to control the Earth Energy in the air." Alex shook his head while observing this battle clearly since it would be perfect information if the Magic Goddess ever thought about rebelling.
"Qima."
Boulders began to come out of the ground as they launched themselves to the sky like a cannonball, hitting the assassins.
Bam.
Bam.
Bam.
Three boulders hit and killed the pursuers while the others were cut by the assassins.
They finally recovered from the earlier shock and quickly climbed the hill to kill the guy, but he twisted his hand and a ring of water appeared around his body.
As if it was a portal under the sea, a strong current quickly burst out of that circle, trying to swallow them.
Since it was impossible to attack the guy from the ground, the assassins leaped to the sky and stayed afloat.
They created a rectangular to surround him.
The guy only raised his vision and said, "Only four of you remain here. Do you think you can fight me?"
"Don't think too highly of yourself." The assassins snorted before taking out a tube containing blue liquid. They drank the whole thing in one gulp as their eyes turned bloodshot and emanated the stronger aura from before. Their bodies also became bigger and buffed as if they were bloated like that of a balloon.
Yet, the guy only shook his head and said, "Idiot. I know about that medicine already and have been waiting for you to use it."
Not waiting for them to react, the female finally summoned four magic circles beneath the assassins' feet. Chains emerged and pinned them to the ground. Even with that huge body, the assassins couldn't do a single thing as if the chains were made of Rank 9 Materials.
The guy then tapped the ground with his staff and eight spikes came out of the ground, piercing their heads and hearts simultaneously, killing them.
"..." Leka widened her eyes and pointed her finger. "There's something like that?"
"Yep. That's called the pro gamer move." Alex nodded with a cold face before continuing. "Anyway, you need to do everything to kill your opponents because the other party might not honor the so-called chivalry when they fight you. Remember that, Leka."
Leka nodded with a serious expression. "I understand, Master. To put it simply, if I fight someone and another person stops the fight by talking to my enemy, I will use that time to sneak attack and kill him, right?"
"You're ruthless."
"Why?!"
"But I like it since you're right." Alex smiled.
"…" Leka swayed left and right while humming as if she got praised by Alex.
"Well, if they don't have enough experience and trust that person, you can do something like that. Unfortunately, they will team up against you if you fail to kill your enemy in a single strike."
"I understand. I will do anything to kill my enemy at that time." Leka repeatedly nodded her little head, taking Alex's lectures seriously.
Eve only facepalmed and shook her head helplessly, looking at her master, who was teaching "bad" things to Leka.
"Anyway, I have gotten a good understanding of their power system. They are using a kind of chant that allows them to control their surroundings. It's quite a unique concept, but the power won't be at the same level as someone who masters one element. Of course, there is always an exception like the Magic Goddess." Alex then rose from the air and disappeared with them, reaching a safe area that no one should come in.
He said, "Leka can bring the three to go around the world while I'm going to break through to Rank 2 God. I don't think there's much of a problem since Elle, Elliot, and Eve can use their power even without me wielding them. I will just give you a token to inform me when you're in trouble or you can escape to my position."
"I understand." Leka repeatedly nodded. "I will be protecting everyone."
"Yeah, yeah." Alex nodded and took them to another place. He dug a cave within a steep cliff before sending them off. "This is the time."
A token appeared on Alex's hand as he handed it to Leka. "This token can tell me your location as well as an alarm to me if you break it. I will quickly go to you. And you can even access the system and call someone like Jeanne or Anna to help you if you get into trouble."
"I know, Master. Leka is not a reckless type. I don't want to get caught again like in the past."
Alex smiled and turned to the others. "I hope that you four can get along. I will try to cultivate it as fast as possible."
Eve lowered her head and said, "May fortune be with you, Master."
"Thank you. Make sure you enjoy this world to the fullest, Eve."
"Yes." Eve made a big smile. The twins waved their hands to him as Alex gradually closed the cave entrance so he could start practicing.
Alex then took out the crystallization of Rubia's Divine Energy and started absorbing the energy. To his surprise, he could smell a bit of sweet perfume coming from the orb, making Alex wonder why such a smell would be stuck for so long. And there was also one hour gap before the Magic Goddess brought this crystal from the vault, so he thought there must be something important hidden there.
Unfortunately, he didn't have time to observe it more and proceeded with cultivation, sucking all the energy inside the crystal.
…
One year had passed since then and Leka had gone to every nook and corner, feeling that there wasn't anything to do other than waiting for Alex.
After getting into an agreement with Eve and the twins, Leka brought them back to the cave Alex practiced. On the way, Leka and the trio laughed over the fact that they almost got captured a few times because of various reasons, starting from Leka's species to a living weapon.
Either way, they had become a legend in this world that truly made people wonder why there was such a thing.
As soon as they arrived, Alex turned out to be still in the middle of his cultivation. Leka and the others decided to wait for him, praying for him to finish as soon as possible.
Leka also decided to confirm Alex's condition with Lin Xingzhi. After another three months, the Divine Energy in the area erupted as it was the sign of Alex breaking through to Rank 2 God. Not long after, the entrance gradually opened as Alex came out of the cave.
When they thought they would get a warm welcome from Alex, Alex's face was completely serious as he gazed at them coldly. "Let's go back. Something big will happen soon."
