Chapter 104: Really Like the Gift
Opening the gift box, inside was a delicate watch.
"Wow! This watch is so shiny, I really like it, Su Xingwan, you've got a good eye, knowing that I like this style."
Su Xingwan smiled at the words.
Lu Yun opened his own gift box, feeling a slight tug at his heart upon seeing a black watch inside.
Suddenly, he discovered a pendant beneath the watch—a slightly oval-shaped, translucent green pendant with a pointed and slightly curved end, resembling a horn.
He was momentarily surprised and looked up at Su Xingwan.
Su Xingwan felt a bit awkward under his gaze.
She hurriedly explained, "The pendant was an unexpected find. I happened to see it while at the store and felt it suited you, so I bought it on a whim."
"Thank you, I really like it," Lu Yun said with a smile.
Holding it in his hand, he instinctively pinched it, almost sensing the lingering aura of her touch from when she bought the pendant.
Ye Yixing observed this, "Su Xingwan, that's not right, you actually gave my cousin an extra gift, yet you say you don't like him."
Su Xingwan coughs slightly at the remark.
Then she feels a deep gaze come her way.
"No, no, it was really just on a whim."
Afraid of being misunderstood, she quickly explained.
She thought to herself she should have bought an extra one.
"I know, after all, the dinner at Shuiyun Pavilion was hosted by my cousin, and he gave you a Black Gold Card. It's no big deal to give an extra gift."
Ye Yixing was just making a little joke.
But he was also puzzled; his cousin was so nice, yet Su Xingwan didn't seem interested.
He couldn't help but glance at his cousin.
Despite being a refined and outstanding individual, handsome and wealthy, he should have plenty of charm and admirers.
Other than his slightly cold demeanor, there were hardly any flaws.
Yet, it puzzled him—since childhood, girls hardly dared to approach him.
Alas, what a shame.
He couldn't help but recall his older cousin, who was surrounded by girls at school, receiving countless love letters.
In contrast, his cousin's side was quiet, and after he became busy with company matters, even fewer girls approached him.
To be honest, he was quite worried for his cousin.
During school days, his cousin couldn't match the aura of his elder cousin, but now things are different, yet why do girls still not like him?
It's frustrating!
Su Xingwan wasn't aware of Ye Yixing's thoughts. In any case, she breathed a sigh of relief.
The little ones looked up, "Uncle Ye, Little Uncle, we also have watches gifted by Auntie!"
They showed off their watches on their wrists to the two uncles.
Ye Yixing looked at Su Xingwan, "You really distributed them evenly, not leaving anyone out."
Su Xingwan smiled at this.
"Oh, right. Mr. Xu Xiao has one too. I went back to buy it later; I initially forgot. Could you pass it to him tomorrow?"
Ye Yixing took the watch from her hand, "Su Xingwan, you're too considerate, don't need to avoid suspicion so much, next time I won't joke about it."
Knowing she had no romantic interest in his cousin, he felt a bit disappointed.
At this moment, Lu Yun took out his phone, "Miss Su, for easier contact in the future through the little ones, could we add each other on WeChat?"
Ye Yixing saw his cousin's action but didn't give it much thought.
He thought his cousin was slow to add Su Xingwan on WeChat, dragging it out until now.
When he first met Su Xingwan, they had already exchanged WeChat contacts.
Alas, his cousin's efficiency was indeed low...
Having that charming appearance, yet never seeing it.
"Sure."
Su Xingwan equally didn't think much about it, after all, he's the little ones' uncle, and they already warmed up to each other; exchanging WeChat is quite normal.
After they connected, Su Xingwan noticed Mr. Lu's WeChat seemed like a newly registered account, with random nickname and avatar.
As it grew late, Ye Yixing headed home first.
Lu Yun drove Su Xingwan and the little ones back home.
Upon arriving home, Su Xingwan looked at the now asleep little ones lying in the car.
Lu Yun offered, "I'll carry them up."
"Sorry to trouble you."
"No trouble, taking care of them is also my responsibility."
With that, Lu Yun picked up one of them and helped Su Xingwan carry the two little ones upstairs.
Lu Yun then hurriedly came down to carry Su Yan upstairs.
Su Xingwan had just settled the two little ones, took off their coats, and covered them with blankets.
Little Su Luo suddenly mumbled, then woke up.
He rubbed his eyes, pulling on Su Xingwan's hand, "Auntie, you haven't told us a story yet today?"
Su Xingwan touched his forehead, "It's already very late today, we'll tell one tomorrow."
Little Su Luo shook his head, acting spoiled, "No, Auntie, I've already slept once and can listen to a story."
As Lu Yun brought Su Yan in, he saw her talking to Little Su Luo, her gentle and serene demeanor as she soothed the child.
Su Xingwan chuckled, "Why don't auntie continue telling you the little monk story..."
Little Su Luo quickly pulled up the covers over his head, muffledly saying, "Auntie, I can sleep now."
Seeing Luo Bao like this, Su Xingwan laughed softly, her eyes curved.
Turning her head, she saw him standing at the door, their gazes meeting...
Su Xingwan paused for a moment, dropped her gaze, and said, "Mr. Lu, thank you for today."
"It was no trouble."
The two left the bedroom, and Lu Yun said, "I didn't realize they could be so spoiled in front of you."
Su Xingwan smiled, "Well, they're still kids."
As the night was a bit cold, Su Xingwan poured him a cup of hot water.
Lu Yun held the cup, warming his hands.
They shared a moment of silence.
After sipping the hot water, he checked the time on his phone, put down the cup, and stood up, "I should go, I'll not disturb you further."
"Alright, let me see you out."
"No need, it's cold out."
Lu Yun stopped her from seeing him off, then swiftly went downstairs and left.
He sat in the car, looked up at the dimly lit second floor, and then drove away.
**
Early the next morning, Ye Yixing was making breakfast in the kitchen.
Hearing the sizzling sounds from the kitchen, the aunt couldn't help but say, "Young master, should I handle it?"
"No need, breakfast is nothing, I can manage it."
Ye's father, waking up and seeing his son in the kitchen, thought his son was acting mysteriously today.
Ye Yixing said, "No way, I won't believe I can't fry these eggs well."
Once again the sizzling and crackling noise rang out.
Ye's father caught the burnt smell coming from the kitchen.
Unable to hold it in, he yelled, "You brat, you're messing around in the kitchen again? Trying to blow the kitchen up!"
Then he saw his son bringing out a dish so burnt and black it was unrecognizable.
"Are you out of your mind? With the auntie making breakfast for you, you still want to mess around yourself!?"
