Chapter 9: Chapter 9:
Himmel opened his eyes when the rays of the sun hit his face. He looked around and saw the corpses of the goblins he had slain in the previous fight. He remembered the system rewarding him when he was losing consciousness, so he opened his status.

When he saw this, he was stunned. He had leveled up and also gained skills. Reading the description of Constitution, he realized it would be helpful for learning magic.
"So, I'm still at Beginner Tier, huh?" Himmel muttered as he glanced at his unchanged tier.
"...."
"Ah, let's first get something to eat," Himmel sighed as he heard the sound of his stomach. He opened his inventory, took out a grilled meat he had bought before leaving, and shoved it into his mouth. While chewing, he noticed his body was stained with blood and sighed again.
"I really need to learn cleansing magic ASAP," Himmel said, remembering the trouble he had with laundry. In his previous life, he was just an ordinary man who relied on machines for laundry and never did it himself.
Of course, many people did laundry manually, but mages and adventurers often used cleansing magic since they frequently got dirty from battles. Among the old Himmel's party, only Frieren and Heiter knew the spell and would always cast it when needed.
"It's convenient and useful."
Himmel searched for water and finally found a waterfall. He removed his clothes and stepped into the water.
After half an hour, Himmel was now clean. He stored his dirty clothes in his inventory and changed into a spare outfit. He also put on the elven robe the king had given him. He strapped his sword to his waist, leaving his staff inside the inventory—it was too eye-catching and another burden to carry.
He continued his journey, now with a clear mind and goals. The system had given him a major quest, and he knew it wasn't just about getting stronger—there would be more threats and assassins.
He needed information about Sigil and had to get stronger. He vowed that he would destroy these damn sigils that had disrupted his life.
Meanwhile, a few kilometers ahead of Himmel, a girl was running down the same path he was traveling. She wasn't heading toward him intentionally—it was just the only road. Behind her, a horde of goblins pursued.
"Kreek. Caught her, our lord will be pleased tonight."
"Kreek. I know, so shut up."
They were chattering among themselves. The girl, dressed in ordinary clothes and holding a staff, raised it and cast spells toward the goblins. However, the spells were weak due to her lack of mana and time to prepare a stronger one. With no other choice, she continued running.
Himmel, on the other hand, opened his mini-map that the system had given him. Everything around him seemed clear.
Seeing nothing nearby, he picked up his pace using Superhuman Speed. Although he had inherited many of the old Himmel's skills, he wasn't the one who had trained for them. He might have Himmel's memories, but he was still a different person.
So, adjusting himself to these skills was necessary.
He ran, gradually increasing his speed. Before he knew it, he was moving at a pace that the eye could barely track. He was surprised at how easily he comprehended the skill—he had only been running and increasing his speed bit by bit. Now, even he couldn't believe his own speed.
Ring!
Ring!
Ring!
Suddenly, the mini-map rang. Himmel tried to stop himself but couldn't—he ended up accelerating forward before managing to come to a halt.
"Phew! That was close… What was that?" Himmel sighed and opened his mini-map again. He saw small dots moving toward a blue dot, which was in front of several red dots.
He quickly understood: the red dots represented monsters, and the blue dot was likely a person in danger.
"Let's wait and see first," Himmel muttered, stopping in place. Since they were already running in his direction, he wouldn't have to go to them.
After a while, a girl came into view. She had long blonde hair, two large peaks that jiggled as she ran, and wide hips. Himmel was momentarily stunned, wondering how she was running with that figure.
The breathless girl spotted Himmel staring at her and immediately shouted, "Help me!" Her voice was filled with hope.
Himmel saw the desperate look in her eyes, then glanced at the goblins chasing her. He disappeared and appeared behind the girl.
Slash
In a flash, his blade glowed under the setting sun. Before the goblins even realized what had happened, their heads tumbled to the ground, eyes wide in disbelief."
All their heads were sliced clean off.
Both Himmel and the girl stood there, dumbfounded. Himmel, who had previously struggled against goblins, was now stunned by his own strength.
"The old Himmel really lived up to his title…" Himmel thought as he sheathed his sword.
The girl, still in shock and relief, suddenly bowed deeply. "Thank you for saving me, Hero!" she shouted at the top of her lungs.
"It's okay, please stand up," Himmel said, observing that she was shorter than him.
"Thank you," she repeated as she got up.
"So, what happened? Why are you out here alone?" Himmel asked, glancing at the fallen goblins.
The girl swayed on her feet, her face pale. She tried to respond, but her knees buckled. Himmel lunged forward, catching her just before she hit the ground. 'Tch… she's heavy,' he muttered, adjusting his grip
---
After while Himmel put the girl on the ground and seeing her injuries where serious, he hesitated. Stripping an unconscious girl felt... wrong. But the bleeding wouldn't stop. With a sigh, he focused on the wounds, telling himself it was just first aid. Afterward, he started a fire, as night was approaching.
Once the fire was set, he lifted the unconscious girl from where she had been resting against a tree and placed her closer to the warmth.
After a while, he glanced at her again.
"She wouldn't blame me… would she?" Himmel muttered to himself.
Hours later, the girl woke up. She examined her bandaged body, looked around, and spotted Himmel sitting across from her. She recalled what had happened—then suddenly realized her clothes had been removed. Her face turned bright red, and she glared at Himmel in anger.
Noticing her gaze, Himmel spoke first.
"It was necessary. If I hadn't done that, you would have bled out. You wouldn't be here right now."
Hearing his explanation, the girl controlled her anger and sighed. "… Thank you," she muttered, looking away in embarrassment.
"So, what's your name? And what were you doing here?" Himmel asked.
The girl pouted and remained silent, refusing to answer.
Growl~~
Suddenly, her stomach rumbled.
Himmel smirked. "I'll give you food if you tell me what I asked."
"Hah! You think I'll fall for that? In your dreams!" she scoffed, looking away again.
"Himmel casually pulled out grilled meat from his inventory and took a bite in front of her. The sound of him chewing made the girl visibly hungrier.
"Spill the details, and maybe—just maybe—I'll share some of this delicious, juicy meat."
"Ugh… Fine! I'll answer, so keep your word!" she finally relented.
Himmel smiled and listened as she told her story.
Her name was Sophia, a mage traveling alone. She had heard about a newly discovered dungeon near a village and was heading there, but on the way, she was ambushed by goblins. She had managed to kill many of them but eventually ran out of mana, forcing her to flee toward the village.
Once she finished her story, Himmel handed her food, and she ate like a starving kitten.
