foundation obsessed cultivator

Chapter 38: Celestial dew pearl

Gu Zhi spent the next several days cultivating with his partner non-stop. He loved every part of dual cultivating. From the action itself to the benefits he received, he just couldn't stop cultivating. It took for Gu Xiao to tell him to stop that he finally had to stop. They had still done there basic necessities of eating, sleeping, and using the toilet. But outside of those things it was cultivate till you drop. With Gu Zhi's specialization in dual cultivation he was making much more progress than his partner in cultivation. That by itself was not a problem, the problem was that Gu Xiao couldn't keep up. She tired more easily then Gu Zhi did and falling behind on the cultivation didn't hurt her, it really just limited Gu Zhi somewhat. Still Gu Xiao had to take a break, and with her taking a break it left Gu Zhi sometime to focus on other things.

"I'm going to consume some of the things I got from my dowry. Do you know how good some of the stuff is"?

"Obviously the celestial dew pearl is the best. Besides that I would say the dragon blood ginseng would be the second best". She then had a frightened look on her face as she said "maybe don't take the dragon blood ginseng, if the rumors are true, I don't know what I'll do".

She was referring to how the dragon blood ginseng could increase sex drive and stamina. Two things, both Gu Zhi and Gu Xiao learned fast that he wasn't lacking. If he was able to increase both of them beyond what he already had. Gu Xiao shuddered at the possibility. She would have to find something that could relieve her burden fast if that was the case. The only solution she could come up with was not to her liking either. The clan had given it to him thinking it would be a perfect gift. That she was sure it was. The only problem would be surviving the days to come after he took it. She couldn't handle dual cultivating for hours on end just for them to take a small break and then go back at it again.

"Sure I can take the celestial dew pearl first, how much do you think it will help me?" Gu Zhi asked.

"Considering the fact that it caused quite a commotion in the clan it will probably benefit you immensely".

"Well then, let's see just how good it is".

He took the pearl put it in his mouth and swallowed it whole.

Gu Xiao was quick to react as she said "GO TO THE BATHHOUSE, you're going to spurt impurities like crazy I don't want you stinking up the bedroom".

Gu Zhi made it to the bathhouse before it started happing. The pearl was dissolving in his stomach taking a energy from it that entered his body. Like a sponge that was squeezed his pores all started releasing a black goo.

"Blegh!" "Uuurrrgh!" "Huuurk!"

He started a fit of uncontrollable vomiting. As black goo and pus was exiting his body at a rapid pace. It came from his eyes, his nose, his ears. After a while it came from his brain. He directly passed out for a moment when that happened. He slipped in and out of consciousness as more impurities were squeezed out of him. He could feel the pearl reforming in his dantian as it left the other parts his body.

"Huff!" "Huff!"

He was sprawled on the bathroom floor in filth of his own making. It stunk of shit as he made his way up and into a bath.

"ugghhhh" he moaned as the hot water wrapped around him.

When he eventually got out he looked at himself in the mirror. 'Wow' he thought to himself as he saw a visible change to his appearance. He looked more handsome, and pure. Gone were his eyebags and rough appearance. His skin was smooth to the touch and he felt like he had lost chains that were dragging him down. Just as humans did not question the existence of gravity. No one questions the quality of their life until it improves or worsens. If he had to compare what his life was like before and after the pearl he would say it was like a pipe being half-way clogged. You didn't notice how much better your life would be until you unclogged the pipe or if it became more clogged. He was referencing in this case the channels that brought in air, the veins and arteries that blood traveled thorough, his meridians were qi traveled through and his acupunctures that helped all parts of his body function properly. They all felt better, cleaner, like they could transport more resources between one another without any difficulty. In other words, he just felt better. Like a weight that was on his body was taken off. He felt like he could move faster, react better, think better, and last longer. It was no exaggeration to say that this significantly improved his foundation. 'Maybe I should find more treasures like this. Or maybe I could master a technique that would help me like this'. He vaguely remembered a technique like that before in the sect library. 'I can look into that later'. For now however he still needed to focus on dual cultivation. Not only did it significantly improve his mood. He has noticed a rapid increase in cultivation as well. At this point he could hit the 11th level of qi refinement in a few weeks. He might even be able to reach the 13th and final level of qi refinement before he turned 19. Meaning he would have the same cultivation speed as the talents in the sect. With his foundation as strong as it already was, he would have a massive advantage when he reached the foundation establishment stage. Not to mention the advantage he already has in the qi refinement stage.

With benefits like these perhaps it was time he looked at his other gifts he got from his dowry.
