Chapter 533: Rescue—Tuntun Is a Skilled Veteran (Part 2)
Hai Bo dodged the attack from the opponent and emitted a rapid sound.
The False Killer Whale was relentless and still wanted to fight, but was bumped away by an approaching Dolphin. Beside this Dolphin, there was a little creature with darker skin and an odd appearance glued to it.
The little creature wasn't interested in the interaction between its mom and the big bad Sea Seal, cautiously glanced at Chen Ying a few times while being by its mom's side, and then boldly swam over directly.
It was Chen Ying's first time seeing a naturally born Whale Dolphin Beast. If the occasion weren't inappropriate, he would definitely dive into the sea for some intimate full-body contact with the little creature.
The Whale Dolphin Beast Baby swam around the rescue boat twice, wanting to play the hand-top game with Chen Ying, who stretched out his hand to pet it.
Chen Ying currently didn't have any food to feed it, so he had to pet its head again and then leaned down to gently bump its forehead.
The little creature was extremely excited, trying to jump out of the water, yet worried about hurting the Two-legged Beast with the good-smelling scent. The conflicted expression was visible on Little Black's face.
"It's okay, little one, a favor please. I want to go over and check on those Two-legged Beasts. Can you get your group to move aside a bit?"
"Dee-dee-dee~~ I'll take you there." The little Whale Dolphin Beast swiftly turned, speeding past its biological dad's body for quite a distance, then looked back at Chen Ying as if urging him to hurry and follow.
Chen Ying maneuvered the rescue boat to follow the little Whale Dolphin Beast, and the other Dolphins also cleared the waterway to the Deserted Island.
Although Dolphins are known as the notorious wanderers of the sea, they have a gentle attitude toward the Two-legged Beasts, with many documented instances of Dolphins rescuing humans who fell into the water.
They actually gathered here out of curiosity about what those Two-legged Beasts were doing.
The rescue boat approached the fishing boat that was calling for help, and after confirming that no one on board was in life-threatening situation, they left some supplies and planned to leave. They were primarily here to rescue trapped individuals; as for this fishing boat, it was only a mechanical failure, with no danger to the crew's safety, just requiring a follow-up dispatch of a repair technician.
However, during negotiations with the captain, he mentioned seeing Chris' family's fishing boat near the south island.
"Those guys caught quite a bit; when we met them, they looked like they were planning to try their luck near the lands on the west side."
That area is close to the archipelago, with a considerable number of tourists playing there during this season. A few young people might want to join in the fun as well. Besides their fishing boat, there are also other local fishermen's boats working in that area.
Furthermore, there are several old fishing boats converted into sea hotels near the archipelago, attracting tourists who enjoy the freshest foods, occasionally buying freshly caught seafood from the fishing boats.
After understanding the general marine situation, the rescue boat decided to check out that area.
It had been almost twenty hours since the warning was issued, and the wind and waves at sea were getting stronger, with an undercurrent already arriving, making it difficult to predict if a tsunami would follow.
Frontline rescuers sent a triumphant message; most of the sea cruises have already docked nearby as instructed, and the tourists on the distressed cruise are being rescued in batches.
In addition to tourists being airlifted by helicopter, nearby passenger ships and even fishing boats capable of carrying people are also heading for rescue.
On the way to the island where the tourists gather to play, the wind and waves were intensifying. Despite the experienced rescue boat captain, no chances were taken, and they could only steer towards land first.
But shortly after changing direction, Hai Bo and two little Sea Seals suddenly slid into the water, and at the same time, the group of Dolphins that had been following their rescue boat began to accelerate.
"Follow them, they must have detected something." As soon as Chen Ying finished speaking, the rescue boat reverted to its original course and accelerated slightly.
"Captain, something seems off, is it low tide? Look at that island over there. I remember very clearly, the highest reef there is only about sixty meters above sea level, but now, look at how much of the reef is exposed below."
"Captain, we've received a notification that a tsunami is likely, we don't have much time left, we must return to shore."
Chen Ying turned his head to glance at the rescue crew, then looked at the Dolphin group that was already out of sight ahead, knitting his brows tightly.
"Can we ascertain where the Dolphin group went? They suddenly accelerated towards the archipelago; I suspect they might have found someone who fell into the water?"
This possibility is high, especially since several fishing boats are privately doing business there, taking tourists to experience the untouched marine fishing. Although they do not venture far from the coast, who knows if a few brave souls dared to venture away from the island? With such strong wind and waves, people not used to being on boats can easily be tossed and slip into the sea.
The rescue boat is equipped with UAVs and sonar devices, and they must now verify whether there are individuals overboard in front.
"Captain, six nautical miles ahead there's a rescue boat, surrounded by individuals overboard, preliminarily estimated at five people. There are also trapped people on the nearby reef island."
The UAV transmitted thermal imaging photos confirming no less than sixteen or seventeen stranded people.
The rescue captain swore under his breath, ordered to speed up travel, while reporting the situation discovered.
Six nautical miles passed in the blink of an eye, Chen Ying and another team member each drove a rescue boat to approach the individuals overboard, while the rescue ship headed towards the reef area to rescue the trapped people.
But due to the low-water level, the ships couldn't come too close, requiring those individuals to enter the water and attach flotation devices to approach the rescue ship.
