Forest Ranger, starting from Picking Up a Lynx Girl

Chapter 426 I am Hajimi, do you have a problem with that?_2

Brother Bo Gu was fully prepared, with a complete set of equipment needed for field photography, including a drone, and he had even modified the car before hitting the road, all to fulfill a dream he had when he was younger.

There were many tourists like him, and in this era where traffic is king, many bloggers specializing in travel photography and adventure also took advantage of the off-season to head to the Northwest.

However, they usually had teams, or relevant experience, while this Brother Bo Gu clearly had only done his research online.

Chen Ying found Brother Bo Gu to be very straightforward and reliable, but he still wasn't quite at ease letting him go on his own, especially since traveling through uninhabited areas this season required dealing with sudden climate changes, and it was very easy to have accidents without experience.

"Let's go, I'll take you to the River Source Protection Station, where wild animals often appear, and there's a small guesthouse. However, the conditions are not as good as in town, but if you don't mind, you can stay there for a couple of days."

Brother Bo Gu patted his chest, "I know, it's definitely not the same as staying at home, I can endure hardships, don't underestimate me."

He took Brother Bo Gu straight to the River Source Protection Station, contacting Yin Li on the way, and the rooms in the guesthouse were all prepared in advance, ready for occupancy upon arrival.

Brother Bo Gu was very satisfied with the room in the guesthouse, especially fond of the Tibetan-style bed to the point where he felt like dragging a set home if it weren't so inconvenient to transport.

It was still autumn, no snow yet, but the temperature difference between day and night was significant. As soon as the sun set, the wind blew fiercely, making people shiver while standing in the courtyard.

This month, it was Guoluo's wife's turn to manage the guesthouse, and knowing that there was a guest coming, she had already placed a heating stove in the room and laid out and turned on the electric blanket.

Black Gold had come to the Protection Station several times with Uncle Tashi and was very familiar with the area, so everybody knew that little guy wouldn't bite anyone and just let him play on his own.

There were still four or five lambs rescued this year in the enclosure behind the Protection Station.

The Tibetan antelopes had already left, and these lambs would stay here for the winter until next year when the ice and snow melted, and then they would be transported to the habitat of the Tibetan antelopes for release.

Black Gold skillfully ran over to check on the young lambs, seemingly familiarizing himself with his workplace.

When he saw the lambs trying to run out, he even made noises to drive them back to their shed.

The Mountain Patrol Team member responsible for taking care of the lambs gave Black Gold a thumbs up when he saw his performance.

Praised, Black Gold took his job even more seriously.

The Brother Bo Gu, who came with Chen Ying, had the surname Song, an outgoing and talkative character. Although his Mandarin wasn't particularly standard, communication wasn't a problem, and in just over an hour, he was already familiar with the Protection Station's members.

Chen Ying originally hadn't planned to stay overnight here, but Station Deputy Director Brother Bo Gu stopped him, saying that in the last two days, it seemed that Little Snow Leopard and Little Lynx had been spotted nearby.

Little Snow Leopard was the previously rescued Little Pitiful, and Little Lynx was one of Jinya's nephews. Weren't these two little troublemakers said to have gone over to Qiangtang Grassland? Why had they come back?

"Not sure about the situation, just that team members discovered them nearby while patrolling, and photographed them for comparison. I suspect it's them. But I'm not certain, so I wanted to let you take a look."

Brother Bo Gu drove him into the wilderness in the northwest direction, where there was a long slope. When they were installing artificial dens earlier, they had found an abandoned fox hole there, quite spacious.

Later during their free time, they went to renovate and reinforce that abandoned hole, hoping to provide some warmth to the animals on the winter wilderness.

"We've taken several photos within that range, and we suspect those two little rascals are hiding in that cave."

It wasn't too far, about six kilometers, and on the wind-protected side of the hill slope, careful observation revealed fresh traces of entrance and exit at the mouth of the cave.

After getting out of the car, Chen Ying went up to the cave to look inside, but it was empty.

However, from the roots and twigs on the ground and the hair entangled on them, it was clear that animals had been living here.

Chen Ying picked up a few strands of hair to identify them, confirming they were from Little Lynx.

Like Jinya, its hair was brown with a reddish tint mixed with some black. The hair on the twigs, a grayish-white and different in texture from the lynx's hair, was likely Little Snow Leopard's.

After waiting in the car for about two hours, two big cats ran over from a distance.

After carefully observing them with binoculars, Chen Ying confirmed they were those two little tyrants.

He got out of the car and walked towards them.

Little Snow Leopard ran back a few steps but then stopped to observe, while Little Lynx stayed put, watching Chen Ying intently.

"Hajimi, Xinxin, you two come home and don't even say hi to me?"

Indeed, that clumsy Little Snow Leopard had been voted by Xiao Song and the others to be named Hajimi, and Little Lynx, because of its weak heart, was named "Xinxin," which was filled with blessings, hoping it would overcome heart disease, the demon king.

Xinxin was much more familiar with Chen Ying, and recognizing that this two-legged beast was the one who had saved it, Xinxin pounced over, twisting and rubbing in Chen Ying's arms.

Seeing Little Lynx acting coquettishly, Little Snow Leopard gradually let down its guard and approached slowly.

Its contact with Chen Ying had been relatively short, and since it mostly followed a few big cats at that time, it had completely forgotten the scent of this two-legged beast ages ago.

After hugging Xinxin and vigorously rubbing it for a while, Chen Ying finally asked why it had come back, whether it was to spend the winter or if it felt unwell.
