Forcibly Taking Nami Aboard, MultiverseLottery

Chapter 16: CH 16

Not in Vain.

Sensing Bai Yu's fighting spirit, Hawkeye's cold eyes suddenly lit up.

He had seen Bai Yu's name in the newspapers.

Sengoku's words, exaggerating Bai Yu's power and pulling world-class hatred toward him, made it impossible to forget.

Naturally, Hawkeye was interested.

The bounty poster showed Bai Yu with a sword at his waist. That alone was enough to pique his curiosity.

"If you've got the guts, come with me!"

"Let me witness the strength of the world's greatest swordsman."

Bai Yu's voice echoed from the sky, causing an uproar.

The island cloud in the air quickly drifted into the distance.

Hawkeye whispered two words:

"Interesting."

The next moment, Bai Yu's voice rang out again:

"Need help? My sister Kaya is curious about how you sail that coffin boat. Do you… paddle with your black sword at night?"

Hawkeye: "…"

He found out again?!

The Creek Pirates were destroyed because of this, but no one could publicly say that Hawkeye was out of line.

Damn it!

I'll slice that demon king to pieces!

Hawkeye glanced coldly around the sea restaurant. No one dared meet his gaze. Nami subconsciously lowered her head.

Now!

Time to row!

Without hesitation, Hawkeye swiftly pulled out his black sword, Yoru, and stabbed it into the sea. Using all his strength, he began paddling.

But—

"The world's greatest swordsman… I've finally found you!" Zoro's excited voice cut through the air.

"Come on! Let my name be heard in the heavens!"

Luffy shouted from the water, "Zoro, get me out first! I'm weak in the sea! I'll deal with the guy who rows with a sword later!"

Hawkeye: "…"

Ha! Two more fools who aren't afraid of death?!

Glancing briefly at Luffy, Hawkeye recognized the straw hat Shanks bragged about every day.

Zoro quickly threw Luffy onto the dining deck and jumped onto the wreckage of the Creek Pirates' ship. With his swords drawn, he faced Hawkeye.

Hawkeye's eyes turned icy.

"You pitiful weakling… If you were a true swordsman, you would know the gap between us without needing to fight."

"Daring to point your sword at me—should I call it courage or ignorance?"

Zoro grinned. "It's my ambition… and a promise with a friend!"

Hawkeye glanced at the island cloud drifting farther away. Thinking of Bai Yu—the so-called Demon King—Hawkeye lost his patience for games.

Raising Yoru, he sneered, "Frog at the bottom of a well—see how vast the world truly is!"

A casual swing—

Whoosh!

The atmosphere tore apart with a terrifying flying slash dozens of meters long, hurtling toward Zoro.

"Dodge—no, I can't dodge?!"

Zoro's body refused to move. An instinctive fear paralyzed him.

Move… MOVE!

Crash!

In the end, Zoro barely evaded the main slash using beast-like intuition and combat instinct. But the sharp airwave that followed still injured him, and the shockwave blasted into the sea.

"Zoro!!" Luffy and the others cried out in concern.

Meanwhile, everyone else averted their eyes, unable to face Hawkeye's gaze directly.

Now!

Time to row!

Swish!

Hawkeye vanished.

Nami sighed in admiration:

"As expected of the world's greatest swordsman—he rows so fast with a sword! If only he were our helmsman, we'd save so much trouble."

Everyone: "…"

If Hawkeye heard that, he might actually cut someone.

Two Hours Later

A Deserted Island Coast

The island cloud landed gently on the sea, followed by the ship.

Standing at the bow, Bai Yu calmly watched Hawkeye approach and smiled faintly:

"You're really something. How many opponents do you run into just by rowing around like that?"

"Why not join my crew? I'll take you flying."

Standing on his coffin boat, Hawkeye replied coldly:

"You're not the first to invite me aboard… but judging by your aura, you're the weakest."

"You're weak! Be careful, or you'll cry!" Kaya glared at Hawkeye, determined to defend Bai Yu's dignity.

Bai Yu chuckled, pulling Kaya close without commenting.

"Tell me—what kind of person could actually get you to board their ship?"

Hawkeye didn't answer directly.

He stepped off the coffin boat, landing on the deserted island with a faint thud.

As he walked forward, his voice echoed:

"Like when I first went to sea… and was crushed effortlessly by the world's top swordsman."

"Or someone who shows me the path forward in swordsmanship."

"To become stronger, I would kneel and beg without hesitation if I had to."

Bai Yu understood.

Simply put:

If someone could use pure swordsmanship to completely crush Hawkeye—shattering his comprehension and surpassing his limits—then, for the sake of advancing his swordsmanship, Hawkeye would willingly follow them.

Just as Zoro was willing to kneel for Luffy,

Hawkeye was only willing to kneel for swordsmanship.

He was the purest swordsman of all—

A man with no desires beyond the sword.

It was a pity that someone like him was born into the world of pirates.

A Proposal

"Unfortunately, my swordsmanship is still average," Bai Yu admitted frankly.

"I'm not a pure swordsman—and I have no intention of becoming one."

He saw the flash of disappointment in Hawkeye's eyes.

But then Bai Yu added with a smirk:

"However… I can make you stronger."

"Maybe someday, I'll suddenly defeat you with swordsmanship—crushing you without reason."

"So… do you believe me?"

Stronger?

Defeat me with swordsmanship?

Hawkeye's eyes sharpened as he studied Bai Yu's gaze. Then, to Bai Yu's surprise, Hawkeye suddenly smiled.

"Young man… I hope that day comes soon."

"However, I despise liars."

"Come—prove yourself to me!"

"The throne at the top is lonely… I can't wait to see someone actually take my place."

Pausing, Hawkeye grew more serious:

"If you can prove yourself, perhaps I'll consider witnessing your growth personally."

"Otherwise… you die!"

Bai Yu: "…"

Wait, are you serious?!

He began to wonder if his talk-no-jutsu skill had been maxed out without him realizing it.

Level 999 in convincing people through words?

This was Hawkeye!

How could he be persuaded so easily with just a few sentences?
