FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO

Chapter 349: One Unhappy Family

Matt returned home in a high spirit after a night of pleasure and fun with three of the hottest chicks he had ever fucked.

He pulled into his driveway, a wicked smirk curling up the side of his lips at the sight of his pretty wife, tending to the front garden like she had always done in the past. He turned off the car engine and smoothened out his hair before stepping out of his car.

A crease appeared on Matt's forehead when Lilian didn't move to welcome him even after the effort he made at noisily honking before slamming the door shut.

Ignoring her nonchalant attitude, he opened the rear door of his car and brought out a soft and fluffy giant white teddy bear. He also retrieved another shopping bag containing some expensive gadgets for his son and a diamond necklace for his wife.

Matt beamed to himself, confident that he would win his family over with his gifts. He slammed the back door shut with the heel of his boot and took long strides to where his wife was squatted.

Clearing his throat, he said in an authoritative voice.

"Aren't you going to welcome your darling husband home?"

"..."

Matt's gaze slowly turned dark as Lillian continued to tend to the flowers while completely ignoring him like he was nothing but a puff of smoke. He walked in front of her, intentionally stepping on the flowers she was grooming, crushing them under his boot.

"If you continue provoking me with your silent treatment, then you should get ready to bury your parents much sooner." He kicked the watering can beside her and turned around, heading for the door, when it was suddenly thrown open by his daughter.

"Hello, pumpkin." Matt's face brightened at the sight of his daughter. "Take a look at what Daddy got you." He flaunted the huge white teddy bear in front of his daughter, whose scrunched face was anything but smiling.

"I do not want your stupid gifts," Rosie yelled in her father's face. She snatched the white teddy bear before Matt could recover from the shock of her outburst and threw it on the wet, muddy floor, stepping all over it before hurrying to console her sobbing mother.

"Rosie!" Matt growled, steam coming out from both ears as his dangerous gaze narrowed at his daughter, who had already taken refuge behind her mother.

Some neighbours who were outside their houses doing one or two activities stopped to look at the enraged father and daughter.

"Rosie, you shouldn't have thrown away the gift your father got you."

Lillian wiped her streaming tears with the back of his sleeve. She slowly reached out for the ruined teddy bear and began to dust off the muddy particles on it.

Sadly, it would take more than dusting to clean the brownish muddy stain on the white fur of the teddy bear.

Lilian felt ashamed at the way some of her neighbours were staring at her while murmuring and shaking their heads in pity. She hated being the topic of discussion. So she decided to play the part of a good wife while battling her own inner demons.

"Rosie, quickly apologize to your father." Lilian turned to look at her daughter, staring at her pleadingly.

"I'm sorry." Rosie lowered her gaze, her eyes burning with tears as she stared at the crushed flowers and spilt water on the floor.

Matt spared both daughter and mother one distasteful look before marching inside while barking. "I want both of you inside now."

"Mom, I hate him so much." Rosie cried on her mother's shoulder after watching her father disappear into the house.

"Just be patient my dear. Do your best to tolerate him until we find out where Grandma and Grandpa are. When you go in there, simply apologize to him and take the teddy bear to your room. You don't have to play with it or cuddle it if you don't want to. Okay?"

Rosie nodded, sniffling. She wiped her tears and followed her mother inside the house.

"What was the meaning of that Rosie?" Matt barked at his daughter immediately after she stepped into the sitting room. "Do you know how much that teddy bear cost me?"

"I'm sorry." Rosie kept her head lowered, sobbing silently, while hugging herself.

Matt's shoulder slumped, and his ire melted at the sight of his daughter's tears. He turned his attention to Lillian and said.

"This is all your fault. If you hadn't been poisoning my children's minds against me, Rosie wouldn't have behaved that way."

"I'm sorry." Lilian looked away, wishing she had the invisible power to end Matt's life right now and save her parents.

Mark, who had been sleeping before, came out of his room when he heard his evil father's voice. "What's going on here?" He demanded, his frosty gaze narrowing at his father.

"Is that the way to welcome your old man?" Matt glared at his son.

"You are not..."

"Mark!" Lilian rebuked in a reprimanding voice.

"What were you going to say?" Matt took two long strides to his son and grabbed him by the neck, pinning him to the wall. "That I'm not your father?"

"Matt please." Lilian rushed over to her son and tried to free him from her husband's choking grip.

Mark glared dangerously at his father, restraining himself from punching the old man in the face. He knew any foolish move he made would only result in his mother getting punished.

"Daddy, please. Let go of my brother. You are choking him." Rosie also came to Mark's rescue, before Matt finally let go.

"You will learn to respect me in this house as your father; otherwise, I will make this place a living hell for all of you," Matt growled before storming into his bedroom with the shopping bag.

"How long, Mom?" Mark gritted his teeth, clenching and unclenching his fist. "How long do we have to play this game because I am already fed up with pretending?"

"As long as it takes to free your grandparents," Lilian replied between sobs while stroking her son's reddened neck. "Please, my children, just bear with me until we get the help we need."

"Mom, what if we call cousin Amelia or her father for help?" Rosie suggested.

"Shh...." Lilian quickly silenced her daughter. "Don't say those names out loud here. Your father will kill us if we do. We can discuss this when we go out of the house." She whispered and hurriedly dispersed her children as she heard d Matt's approaching footsteps.
