FLASH MARRIAGE; CHARMED BY THE RUTHLESS BILLIONAIRE CEO

Chapter 296: Reverse The Release Order

Sebastian's features stiffened, his eyes shooting daggers at his secret ex.

"Sarah, don't worry. I'll take care of this." Sebastian stepped forward hoping to save the day like before.

"No... don't." Sarah objected. "I can take care of myself."

"But, let me talk..."

"I said I can take care of myself." Sarah snapped at Sebastian transferring her anger to him.

"I'm sorry." Sebastian forced a smile, his narrowed gaze tilting towards his ex, who had just succeeded in ruining things.

Cassandra rolled her eyes at him and returned to what she was doing earlier, an insignificant exchange that Henry captured and decided he would investigate later on.

Henry came closer to Sarah and spoke in a calm and soothing voice.

"Don't let her words get to you, Sarah. Being famous comes with its perks and flaws. Take a deep breath and shake it off. You and I know that you're tough and resilient compared to that featherless chicken over there."

Sarah chuckled, tilting her head sideways to look at Henry, an appreciative smile curling up the side of her lips. "Thanks."

Sebastian was livid with rage by this exchange but didn't say anything.

"I could always go there and give her a dirty slap," Annabelle suggested.

"No need for that, Ann. Let's just ignore her." Sarah replied.

"Point of correction, Annie Berry." Annabelle rolled her eyes playfully, causing Sarah and Henry to chuckle.

"Forgive me, Annie Berry." Sarah apologized still amused.

"How about we sit over there?" Henry suggested, pointing to a couple of empty seats he had reserved for three of them, excluding Sebastian.

"I already made plans for us to sit in front here." Sebastian countered, pointing to another set of seats.

"Oops!" Annabelle smirked, eying Sarah.

"I don't think I want to sit in front." Sarah calmly turned down Sebastian's offer. "But thanks for your thoughtfulness."

Henry beamed triumphantly to himself.

"Sure." Sebastian gritted his teeth. "I'll let you do your thing since your bestie is around."

"Sebastian..."

"I'm fine." Sebastian cut Sarah off and left them to look for another empty seat, his fist clenched by his side. But on second thought, he simply left the lecture room to find somewhere to vent his anger.

"I'll talk to him. Go and sit down." Annabelle patted Sarah on the shoulder.

"Are you sure?" Sarah sighed, disliking the fact that she felt indebted to Sebastian.

"Yes." I'll just say hi to a few friends before checking up on him."

"Thanks."

As Henry led Sarah to her seat, he observed the way Cassandra hurried out of the lecture room a few minutes after Sebastian left, pricking his suspicion.

To some inmates, prison life felt like a sea of trodden and suppressed souls deprived of their freedom to live a normal life.

But for hardened criminals like Matt, who over time have risen to the level of the don, commanding respects both from the prison authorities and other inmates, the prison was a perfect getaway to do more evil.

When Desmond, Pearl and Regina received the release order in their respective correctional facilities, they were more than overjoyed to finally regain their freedom.

However, in the case of Matt, it was a completely different story.

Looking well nourished and in good shape, when compared to his younger brother, Matt was having his regular morning exercise when he was invited to the chief warden's office.

Thinking the call had something to do with the brutalized inmate who had dared to steal a stick of cigarettes from his stash, Matt made his way confidently to the warden's office, ready to deny every allegation.

Upon arriving at the office, he was surprised to see two corporate-looking individuals claiming to be representatives of the judicial court in Salvine city.

Matt listened in astonishment as the two kept saying alien words to him about a release order and probation.

"What the hell are they saying, warden?" Matt's scrunched face turned to the chief warden.

The chief, sensing the anger in Matt's tone, quietly excused the two court representatives before explaining things calmly to Matt.

"All they have simply said is that, in four days you will be a free man. Your father and daughter, who filed a case against you, have decided to withdraw the case and set you free on probation for six months, after which you can go about your life."

"What!" Matt barked at the dumbfounded chief warden.

"Now you listen warden, tell does jackass to send this message to my brother and his useless daughter. They can both go to hell with their release and probation conditions. I am not interested. I will only leave here when I'm ready."

The chief warden was speechless for a few seconds. He sighed and shook his head in pity. Here he was, thinking this animal would be glad to regain his freedom, something that most prisoners craved.

'Some people are not worth saving.' he concluded in his heart

"Mr Shawls, I'm afraid the court has already approved your release date. You and the rest of your imprisoned family members have been granted your freedom. You are merely informed as expected by the correctional institution's code of conduct. In four days, you'll be a free man on probation for six months. I wish you good luck with your family."

"Are you deaf?!" Matt bellowed, standing up and banging both fists on the warden's desk. "I said I am not interested. You will call back those maggots from the courthouse and tell them to revert that release order. I am going nowhere."

"Get out of my office, you ungrateful animal."

"Don't test me, warden. Call them back now." Matt thundered. His eyes inflamed and his jaw clenched.

The chief warden quickly rang a bell under his table, alerting the guard standing outside his door.

"Leave now or I will make you regret it." The chief warned fiercely also standing up.

"I said make the call you old fool." Matt kicked the chair opposite the desk as he moved menacingly towards the chief.

At that same time, the door to the Chief's office was thrown open.

Uniformed prison guards rushed in with their tasers and weapons. They quickly rushed towards Matt as he tried to grab the chief warden by the throat.

Matt tried to fight them off while barking at the chief to recall the release, screaming that he would rather die in prison than go back to the city.

"Take this animal out of my office and lock him up in the solitary room until the day of his release." The enraged chief warden barked, pointing towards the door.
