"Continue the search!"
Colonel Mouse didn't spare a glance for the two downed soldiers, eyeing Nami with intrigue as more navy closed in to restrain her.
With so many advancing, Nami gripped her staff tight but hesitated to act.
"Hey, that kid's money is for saving this village! What gives you the right to take it?!"
Genzo's fists clenched, eyes bloodshot with fury.
Eight years of a girl's toil, eight years of a village's endurance—now snatched by this shameless navy?
Nami stared at Genzo, dazed and lost.
"We knew you joined Arlong's crew to save us."
The truth out, Genzo nodded gravely under her shocked gaze.
"Chee-chee-chee, so your whole village is a den of thieves? Should I haul you all in?"
Colonel Mouse smirked, stroking his whiskers like it was a game.
"They're saying we're all just trying to survive! Isn't it your government's fault for being useless? If you can't fix this, get lost! If Arlong finds you, you're done!"
Nojiko, fed up, stepped forward, teeth gritted, shouting at Mouse.
"Arlong…"
Mouse's sly grin deepened, eyeing his still-searching men.
"Hurry up and find it! I'm not asking for pennies—that's 100 million Berry! Why so slow?!"
"Asshole! How do you know the amount?!"
Genzo and Nojiko flared with rage. How could they not see why the navy was here now?
"Report, Colonel—we found it!"
A soldier's excited cry rang out. Nami's freshly hidden box was unearthed, brimming with Berry and blood-stained treasures.
Mouse's greedy lackeys lit up at the haul.
"Don't touch it!"
Nami's pupils dilated. That box wasn't just her eight-year grind—it was Cocoyasi's hope. She couldn't let the navy take it!
Navy or pirates be damned—her heart screamed to stop them!
She charged Mouse, staff raised. Genzo lunged to hold her back.
He hated admitting it, but this navy was clearly Arlong's lapdog!
Nojiko dashed to grab Nami's arm, but Mouse drew his flintlock, aiming at her.
With 100 million Berry secured, this thief was expendable—killing her changed nothing.
Unlike Arlong's crew, reporting this to Rogue Town would be a hassle.
Bang!
Gunpowder stung the air as the shot fired. Nojiko dove in front of Nami, braced for pain.
It never came. A figure intercepted, catching the bullet between two fingers.
"Such a lovely girl deserves pampering—you'd shoot her?"
Allen glared at Mouse, flicking the bullet back. It pierced Mouse's chest, blood spraying.
"Colonel Mouse is dead! Run!"
True to form, Mouse's men fled in panic—no hint of avenging their boss.
"Mr. Allen, you… you're incredible!"
Nojiko's eyes sparkled, words faltering as Nami tugged her hand, shaking her head.
Nami'd seen plenty of strong pirates thieving abroad—none matched Arlong!
A single Fishman Paradise cadre could sink a warship. Catching a bullet? Nothing special.
"I'll confront Arlong and get answers!"
Nami shook off Nojiko and Genzo, sprinting toward Fishman Paradise.
"Na… Nami…"
Nojiko reached out, mouth open, but stayed silent.
"Miss Nojiko, looks like you're in a bind. Need help?"
Allen, bare-chested, flashed a sunny smile. Nojiko's instinct urged her to plead, but after a long pause, she shook her head.
That damned Arlong killed Bell-mère and forced Nami into servitude. She'd love to shred him!
But the fishmen were too strong, too entrenched—no resisting them.
Even Mr. Allen, impressive as he was, might not stand a chance.
Why drag an innocent into their mess?
"Nojiko…"
Allen sighed, stepping closer to ruffle her hair. As her cheeks reddened, he shook his head wryly.
"You heard those navy rats—still think the fishmen will honor their word?"
"Betting your fate on Arlong's decency is a losing game."
"Plus, it's too cruel to Miss Nami!"
"The choice is yours—want my help?"
Nojiko stared, dazed, oblivious to his hand still on her head, unsure how to respond.
Genzo's fist tightened.
"He's right, Nojiko. Arlong's shown his hand—we can't stay quiet. I'll rally the village now!"
As Genzo strode off, Nojiko steeled herself, grasping Allen's hand back, eyes pleading.
"Mr. Allen, please help us!"
"Of course!"
Allen tousled her hair again, grinning as he took her hand, heading for Fishman Paradise.
"By navy bounties, Arlong's 20 million Berry. Mine? Seems to be 5.5 billion!"
