Chapter 15: The Smile That Hides the Knife
The sound of glass shattering echoed through the lavish pink-themed bedroom.
Feng Qian stood in front of her vanity, chest heaving, as shards of a crystal perfume bottle sparkled on the floor like blood diamonds.
"She dares humiliate my mother in front of everyone?" she hissed. "She dares throw out the dress I designed for that charity dinner?"
Madam Lin sat nearby, face pale, her hand gripping a silk handkerchief. "She's not the same girl anymore… and your grandfather is backing her now."
"That old man!" Feng Qian snapped. "Always favoring that lowly daughter just because her mother had a proper marriage certificate!"
"Qian Qian, you must be careful," Madam Lin warned. "We cannot provoke him too openly. He still controls the estate, and he's watching you more closely now."
Feng Qian clenched her jaw. "I'm done playing the sweet sister. She wants to act high and mighty? Let's see how long she lasts when I strip away that fake power."
Madam Lin looked uneasy. "What are you planning?"
Feng Qian's eyes glinted with malice. "First, I'll leak photos of her visiting that abandoned orphanage. Let the press wonder what she's hiding. Then I'll frame her for embezzling from the Feng charity fund. And if that doesn't work…"
She smiled—a slow, poisoned bloom. "I'll make Chen'er disappear."
Madam Lin flinched. "That's too dangerous—"
Feng Qian's voice dropped to a whisper. "I killed him once. I can do it again."
Silence stretched thick in the room.
But this time, they had underestimated something.
Xiao Xiao wasn't naive anymore.
And every step Feng Qian took... was being watched.
