Bio-Forge Master
Chapter 3
Record begins…
The Celestial Forge is a topic that continues to fascinate and frustrate me. It's clearly extremely potent with it implanting knowledge directly to my brain and effectively giving me a personal reality of sorts. But its random nature perplexes and irritates me deeply. Why is it I only get a hundred points one time, two hundred the next, and one hundred and fifty the third time? There must be some sort of mechanic behind these points but any sort of pattern of logic completely escapes me.
Perhaps if I had some sort of working knowledge of computers and programming, however seeing as my Forge seems to primarily cater to biological skill sets and powers it seems I would have to study and learn them myself. Which isn't a bad pursuit actually, maybe when things get settled?
Whenever that happens that is.

As I reattach my scalp to my skull and ensure proper blood flow resumes, I have something of an epiphany. Granted it isn't some new realization or anything of the sort, but I believe I've underestimated the effects of Commencing Operations and Make Me a Better Man have had on my psyche. This realization is just compounded as I find myself systematically harvesting everything useful from the cadaver, I found at the Merchant drug lab.
To an outsider I must look like a deranged psychotic Biotinker, which would only draw more Bonesaw comparisons, possibly even Nilbog, but really, I'm just being extremely pragmatic and conservative of my resources. Thankfully I have the schematics to create cloning vats for organs and tissues in my brain, so eventually my days of harvesting cadavers and passed out criminals will eventually be behind me!
That reminds me I need to put the kidneys and chunks of liver into storage as well.
Anyways, I could easily get the vats created right now if I'm willing to forgo subtly and buy the necessary electrical components in bulk, however that is how Tinkers are traditionally identified and brought in. And as I refuse to let myself be dragged into a gang or the PRT I will stay the course of slow and steady!
I can already imagine the possibilities of having proper materials at hand! And with proper study and the right combination of perks I could even start adding on supernatural qualities! I figure out a way to incorporate true sound suppressing abilities, imagine the sort of chaos Aisha would get up to! That… that's actually something of a worrying thought now that it occurs to me.
She could easily sneak into the bathroom while I'm showering and pleasure herself as she ogles me!
Note to self: Lock bathroom door whenever I take a shower after giving Aisha such an upgrade…

It is close to *checks flip phone* Five in the morning (Note: Get a damn watch!), I processed the cadaver and rendered all the drugs and lab supplies into usable materials. I've also laid the groundwork for my cloning vats. And here I am looking at the cadavers' arms, still fully intact, and I feel taken by sudden inspiration!
If I could work fast with two arms alone… how fast would I be with more? Of course, I would have to extensively modify the arms, increasing the overall flexibility… maybe lengthen them? So many ideas! However, I would have to figure out a way to make myself ambidextrous and apply it to all the arms, something to think about.
Of course, to do this I would need to do some restructuring of my skeleton, though how much I'm not entirely sure. I'll need to do research, not to mention create inputs to connect the arms to my nervous and circulatory system. This isn't the sort of thing you dive into and start carving away, even if the Forge will guarantee I survive and that it works. Slow and steady wins the race after all!
Maybe I should make a serum to enhance my neuroplasticity to help my brain adapt to the additional sensory input? Actually, it would help me in general as since my initial enhancement I've had a minor headache, possibly due to sensory overload…
I wonder, would it help me with my goal of becoming ambidextrous as well?
I wonder if Aisha would appreciate it if I had two extra sets of arms?
Damn, strike that from the recording!
Recording end…
After finishing up his recordings Fran walked over to a chemistry station he set up and started making a stimulant that would help Aisha remain awake and aware throughout the day at school. Granted it was entirely possible she would crash around seven or eight in the evening, but chances are she'd either be here or with her mysterious friend 'Tay' who Fran had a sneaking suspicion who he thinks it is. But it wasn't really his business who Aisha is friends with, but if it's who he thinks it is then good for her!
She needed all the friends she could get, and honestly Aisha is more than enough friends for a socially awkward pariah.
After a few minutes the concoction was done, and for Aisha's benefit he added some orange flavoring to make it more palatable. Having initially tasted it, Fran could confirm it needed it, initially it tasted like a rough piece of leather.
After bottling up the concoction Fran started to explore the Operating Theater the Forge had graciously provided him! It was perfect, easily large enough for an entire surgical team to operate and not bump into one another, with an observation room above. And a largeish cold room where he could store all the cadavers he wanted, along with another storeroom where all the now useful drugs and spare lab equipment are.
Eventually after he finished exploring, he made his way out of the surgery and before heading up the stairs he collected the emblem, absentmindedly making a note to dispose of his makeshift tools and move his medical supplies into his surgery proper. Going up the stairs he made his way into the living/bedroom and saw Aisha sprawled out on his bed (which was a pull-out couch).
And she was only wearing her t-shirt and panties, and… goddamn those legs…
Shaking his head, he slowly shook Aisha awake, "You got school." He said as she groaned and grumbled, "Here, drink this. It'll help."
The fact that Aisha simply took the drink and downed it without question kind of made Fran feel good, knowing that she trusted him so much. Though the question of if the reason was trust or that Aisha simply isn't a morning person, that is something that would bother him for a bit.
Still in a few minutes Fran just chuckled as Aisha perked up like she just got a double shot of espresso directly into the veins! Honestly, she looked a little jittery, however there was nothing Fran could do about it, but he did make a mental note to adjust the formula though he acknowledged that it might be entirely impossible to fully avoid the jitters.
"Get dressed, I'll get you something to eat." Fran said with a chuckle as he went over to his small kitchen to make her something to eat.
He didn't have a lot of stuff however he could make her some eggs and spam.
100 CP Gained!
750 CP Available!
Bank?
Y/N
"I'm never going to get rid of that fifty, am I?" Fran preferred to have nice round numbers in all honesty, but still he couldn't complain… and honestly, he was curious as to what he could get as it was the largest amount he had ever got.
The Forge rolls three times so who knows…
"Roll." He decided.
Rolling…
Legacy Lived – (100 cp) (Assassin Creed)
Success
Rolling…
Biology as a Guideline – (600 cp) (Franken Fran)
Success
Rolling…
Holographic Computer – (400 cp) (Tenchi Muyo!)
Failed
50 CP Available
Fran almost fell over as his surgical knowledge, which was already bullshit, expanded to a truly ludicrous degree. And as his body automatically continued cooking, he reviewed everything he had just gained. Biology as a Guideline indeed, and with it came not only the expected body horror that is synonymous with Franken Fran but also… potential.
Honestly, he was something of a small-scale apocalypse with the potential of being a full-scale one if he was given enough time.
Still, it was disappointing he missed the Holographic computer, but he may get it eventually. Though Legacy Lived well… assuming that it only encompassed knowledge the Forge gives him? Any of his future children will be peerless surgeons and mad scientists!
"Mental note: Ensure chances of impregnation are zero." Not to say he was against having kids, but well he didn't know how the perk worked exactly and he didn't want to get someone pregnant only for the woman to suffer if the child inherited everything from him.
… And now he's imagining an older Aisha with a round belly…
"Wait, I could… heh, well Aisha will be happy with that." He thought with a chuckle.
The trick would be getting Aisha's mom to even come in for surgery… sure he could just do it while she's unconscious but… hmm, why not? Though it sort of gives a whole new meaning to 'You are being healed, please do not resist'!
After ensuring Aisha was fed and watered, he hurried her off to school pointedly ignoring how she complained and whined about how boring it was. It also led to Fran considering options to address Aisha's case of ADHD, perhaps a dose of some neuroplasticity serum would work? And if not, it wouldn't hurt, it'd probably help her overcome some of her difficulties learning and information retention.
Given that she's still physically growing and maturing, the serum would simply ensure her brain maintains a level of 'flexibility' well beyond the point the brain stops being flexible. It would possibly allow her better control of her Parahuman abilities, if Fran figured out a way to make the connection without her suffering a traumatic experience.
He never thought he would ever look at his morgue job (which is officially part time, but they wouldn't turn him away if he came in either way) as a time to relax. But then again there was something relaxing about just doing busy work, or proper work when a mortician calls in sick and he has to pick up the slack. Honestly it was only a matter of time before they requested him to work full time, then he could get himself a cheap apartment and leave his graveyard caretaker job in the rearview. Sure, it wasn't a demanding job but… it is pretty mind numbing at times.
Seriously, he hated mowing the grass and pulling weeds! Never mind having to clean off graffiti off crypts and tombstones from punk ass troublemakers!
Regardless, he put on his work clothes, grabbed the essentials along with his badge (a laminated ID card), and headed out to the bus stop after locking his home up. He'd already hid the emblem, so even if the house was broken into no one would find it.
It would also give him some time to consider an option he hadn't considered before, if he stuck to his surgical abilities barring the logically impossible feats, he was capable of now… perhaps he could identify himself to the PRT as a Thinker with a surgical focus? It wouldn't be the oddest power or skill-focus.
That also made him think of Victor; the Skill Thief of the E88. The thought of the merry band of Nazis having access to his surgical skills, never mind anything else, left a very foul taste in his mouth. Something he couldn't live with, as he wasn't confident in the Celestial Forge blocking his ability completely.
What if it stops the Skill drain but allows him to copy the knowledge.
It was that thought that led Fran to planning premeditated murder, a thought that should've disturbed him but didn't. Was it due to his perks making him pragmatic and possibly worse? Or is it simply something he had always been capable of, but never had an urge or need to act on it?
Shaking his head Fran whistled to himself as he made his way to the bus stop.
Maybe after work he would swing by the gym for some exercise, though he really hopes Brian wouldn't be there. He really didn't want to be dragged into a 'spar' that's a thinly veiled excuse to beat his ass!
Honestly, he wished that the rumor of him being super gay was still a thing, maybe Brian would leave him alone if he thought Fran was wanting to ride his ass…
Whatever tinkery bullshit Fran had given her did its job! Honestly, if he sold that as an energy supplement, he'd be making money! Though it still didn't change the fact that school is still so damn boring! She wasn't even in class, and she was already complaining in her head!
Honestly the only good thing about going to school was meeting up with her homegirl Tay! Spotting the tall girl was pretty easy, especially with the 'peak teenage girl' thing she had going on, so she easily jogged over to her friend and gave her a surprise hug, some homo.
Tay squawked in surprise but when she realized who it was, she stopped trying to resist, because resistance is futile when Aisha desires a hug! Besides she could tell Tay was in desperate need of positivity in her life, either through physical contact or social. Honestly the Bitches Three were entirely too effective in destroying one's social reputation, Aisha honestly wouldn't be surprised if there was some sort of Thinker fuckery going on!
Seriously one is a dumb sexy jock, the other is an airheaded 'queen bee' wannabe, and the third is the token cute and smole follower.
"Sup girl!" Aisha chirped, "How's it hanging Tay?"
"Err, fine." The tall girl eventually muttered, "Can you get off? We're drawing attention…"
Aisha noticed that herself and did as Taylor requested, especially when she noticed some wannabe skinheads eyeing them. Honestly, she knew Nazis hated people that weren't white and anything that wasn't vanilla Man-Woman fucking but seriously, what the hell is wrong with two young women comforting each other!? It's not like Aisha was Frenching the fuck out of the leggy brunette, though she couldn't deny she felt the desire to do that on occasion.
What? She had eyes and had sleepovers with Taylor! Sure, the girl had a little pudge but honestly, she had legs for days!
"Sorry Tay." Aisha said with a smile, "But seriously, how's tricks?"
Taylor shrugged, "Same as usual." She spoke.
Aisha frowned, "Those bitches still harassing you?" Honestly Taylor's expression told Aisha all she needed to know, "You know if you want I could…" She trailed off with a mischievous grin.
"No! They'll just come after you." Taylor said, "I can handle it. But how are you? You're pretty jittery yourself."
"Ah, my future boytoy gave me some really strong coffee." Aisha said and technically she was completely honest, "You know after we escape this hell, I could take you and introduce you both! I think you'd like him, he's a bit weird but a nice guy."
Taylor just scratched her cheek, "Um, maybe some other time…" She demurred, making Aisha roll her eyes.
"Tay, come on girl! Just because everyone here is a coward doesn't mean people in general are." Aisha said patiently, or well as patiently as she could at any rate, "Come on! It'll be fun!"
Taylor just crossed her arms but before she could answer the bell rung, "I'll… I'll think about it…" She mumbled before she hurried off to class leaving an annoyed Aisha.
And an annoyed Aisha is a persistent Aisha.
School was a long boring slog like it usually is for Aisha, however whatever witches brew Fran gave kept her aware and alert though the entire time. Honestly it kind of sucked, but because she couldn't just zone out like she normally did she noticed that… really the teachers weren't that good. Outside the computer science teacher, everyone else just seemed to be trying to appear to be teaching but were really just wasting time.
Though admittedly that might simply be her bias showing, but to her eyes none of the teachers seemed to actually want to be there beyond getting a paycheck. If that was the case, it certainly explained how the Bitches Three can harass Taylor damn near constantly and get away with it.
But something bugged her about that whole thing, it just didn't add up really. Sophia was a Track star yeah, but she didn't see how that could influence the principal into ignoring Taylor's complaints, same with Emma actually. Aisha did her research (feel free to be awed) and… yeah, her dad is a lawyer.
A Divorce lawyer to be more specific.
So really… not that scary and yeah, the Barnes had money but not enough that Emma could just throw it at all her problems.
Madison honestly didn't register, anyone with eyes could tell she was more of a follower than an instigator. Hell, even Taylor confided in her that while she hated Madison, she pitied her more, even went on to tell Aisha her theory that Madison followed along, so the other two psychopath teenagers didn't turn on her and treat her like a new plaything.
Which… made a scary amount of sense honestly.
Maybe she should sneak into the office after hours and see if she could dig up some dirt and find out what's really going on?
She'd be… Secret Agent Aisha!
With a small, amused smile while humming the Mission Impossible theme set leaned against a wall as she waited for Taylor to get out of class so she could pester her bestie into meeting her eventual boyfriend!
"Actually, I wonder what Fran's up to anyway?"

Any thoughts of heading to the gym died a swift death, probably for the best really. It was harder and harder to avoid just knocking Brian's block off, not to mention Old Man Laborn. Seriously! Her sister approached him! He didn't invite her flirtations onto him or otherwise egged her on!
Shaking his head, he sat at the bus stop waiting, "Might as well. Roll." Who knows he got some pretty useful stuff last time!
Rolling…
Laboratory – (100 cp) (Lovecraft)
Success
Rolling…
Steady Hands – (100 cp) (Generic Medical Drama)
Success
Rolling…
Ritualistic Obsession – (600 cp) (Bayonetta)
Failed
The Steady Hands were useful, Fran could feel his body adjusting and compensating increasing his control and coordination, but the real prize was the Laboratory as it comes with a proper workspace for his drugs, serums, and so much more. And all the electronics would let him finish making his cloning vat, maybe even a few more! He wasn't sure what he would do with the metallurgy room or the biocontainment units, but he'd figure something out!
While he was passingly curious about Ritualistic Obsession, he was more focused on what he had just gained. Though a part of him was still annoyed at the Forge and how random it was, he would figure out how the mechanic worked one way or another!
His leg fidgeted as he waited for the bus, honestly maybe he should take some of his money from the Merchants to get a motorcycle or something. It'd be more convenient to get around the city… plus for moments like this when he was excited to get back to his tinkering!
When the bus finally arrived, he made to get on board but stopped when he realized it was full of Merchants, or at least that's what it smelt like. And honestly… he didn't feel like inflicting himself with their presence, so he opted to walk instead.
Of course, that didn't stop from catcalling and shout crude remarks at the 'fine piece of ass' that Fran is.
Ego boosting? Perhaps, but the fact that these were junkies just made it feel sleazy. So, Fran just ignored them and instead took off home. Besides, a nice brisk walk will do his body some good right?
Right?
… Three muggings…
He had a run in with muggers on his way home.
Three. Separate. Times!
And it got him points! What the hell!? Not a lot but still…

The fact that the Forge eventually banked without his input told him that it was aware enough to gauge his mood. Which was rather bad, all he wanted to do was tinker and try to ignore the bullshit he just dealt with.
Honestly, he wouldn't be so annoyed if the muggings didn't turn into hate crimes when they realized he was actually a guy and not a very petite and flat woman. It was just his luck to run into some stray skinheads on his way home from work.
However, now that he was entering the graveyard and making a beeline to his house, he was now relieved that he could tinker and just dismiss the day as a bad one! Humming to himself he approached and… stopped when he noticed some shoe prints?
"... Goddamnit I forgot Aisha!" Fran thought with a groan, "And I'm guessing the other pair belongs to 'Tay'."
Thoughts of any tinkering dying a quick death he entered and took off his shoes as he looked, and more importantly listened, around. He could see their shoes… however he couldn't hear them…
Thinking for a few moments Fran facepalmed, "No, no… no you didn't…" He muttered as he made his way to the stairs and went down them.
The emblem was fitted on the door, and Fran felt his blood pressure starting to raise. He wasn't truly angry at Aisha, upset most definitely, but not angry. He would've preferred to actually talk about showing off his greatest secret. The only reason he wasn't more worried was he knew Taylor wanted to be a Hero more than anything and wouldn't sell him out.
Maybe, unless she thought it was for his own good. The girl had some trust issues, despite Aisha being her friend. Taking a deep breath to calm himself he opened the door… and immediately heard Aisha.
"Holy shit! Tay are you seeing all this shit! This is cool as fuck!" She exclaimed, "They just appeared! My man's powers are such bullshit!"
"Aisha… are you really sure this is, okay?" A meek voice asked, "I mean… tinkers are really prickly about their stuff…"
"God… DAMNIT Aisha!" Fran thought as he bit the inside of his cheek to stop himself from making his irritation known.
Taking a few minutes to calm himself so he doesn't snap, though he would have some stern words with Aisha later! And if needs be he'll take her over her knee and discipline the brat! Admittedly that may just embolden her, he needed her to realize that while yes, he trusted her with his secret that didn't mean she could invite anyone she wanted into his Tinker lair!
Base? Hideout? Whichever is more appropriate.
After sufficiently calming down he made his way towards his new Laboratory and after entering he took a moment to nod in satisfaction. And seeing the two girls standing inside a biocontainment cell he smirked faintly before hitting a conveniently located switch causing it to slam shut startling the two.
"What the fuck!?" Aisha blurted as Taylor started to look around nervously.
"Aisha." Fran said as he approached, "I hope you know why I'm disappointed with you." He added making the girl flinch, "I would've liked to have talked about this before now. I'm sure we could've come to an agreement."
"I am so sorry Mister Tinker!" Taylor blurted out and Fran only smiled at her.
"You're fine. Honestly, I'm not even upset, just annoyed." Fran said as he opened the cell, "Though we will be talking about this later Aisha, understand?"
"Yes sir…" Aisha muttered glumly.
"Good, now unless you want to watch me do some work in here, I suggest you head back upstairs. I'm sure there's something on TV for you two to enjoy." Fran offered, since Taylor knew his secret, he would not be denied his tinkering damnit!
Surprisingly the two opted to stay, and Fran decided not to question it.
"Well, let me change into something more comfortable and I'll get to work." Fran said, "Don't get into any mischief." He added with a chuckle before he headed out and back upstairs.
She knew she should've just gone home instead of letting Aisha bug her into agreeing to meet whoever she was infatuated with. That feeling only grew when Aisha just casually outed her boyfriend by showing him his Tinker lair! God, she wanted to yell at Aisha when they were trapped but when this really feminine looking guy stepped in and started to… dad-talk Aisha for the lack of a better term?
Honestly, she didn't think she could say anything more that could affect Aisha, who was now skulking, more than the stern talking to the tinker gave her! To be honest… Taylor was kind of jealous oddly enough. Since her mom died, dad had been like a ghost just going through the motions.
He provided for her, gave her a roof, clothes, and such but… that was it. It was like a part of him died when mom passed away, his body just… didn't get the memo. So, seeing someone act like a dad… left Taylor with some very mixed feelings.
Still, she couldn't just leave her friend to sulk, no matter how much she deserved it, and went over to give her a silent hug. She could've said something, but she didn't even know what to say, cause in her eyes Aisha deserved every bit of that.
"Come on Aisha." She finally said, "You know you deserved that, and you got off light. I imagine other tinkers would lose their minds." She added.
That got Aisha to snort-giggle, "Yeah, I know…" She said with a sigh.
Any further talk between them was cut off by the tinker reentering the lair, in some shorts and a tank top.
"You know for looking so girly, his muscles are pretty firm…" Not hulking and bulging like bodybuilders, but lean and solid like a runner or swimmer…
Aisha just started giggling as Taylor realized she started to blush!
"You saw nothing!" Taylor hissed to her friend.
"Suuuure Tay!" Aisha teased, apparently regaining her usual herness.
"Oh, shut up… let's see what he makes…" Taylor might feel out of place, but she wasn't going to pass up the chance to see a tinker at work!
