Chapter 9: Chapter 9: What has been accumulated
The Human Restoration RTA begins with a gacha!
So, last time, thanks to the heroic sacrifice of Emiya-nii, the champion of justice, who held off the Berserker with his life on the line, Homo-kun was able to survive. It's a story that can't be told without tears.
Well, under the noble sacrifice of Emiya-nii, I managed to safely reach Ryūdōji.
(> You arrive at a place that looks like a severely damaged temple.)
(> Based on the name engraved on the gate, it seems this is Ryūdōji Temple.)
Now, let's begin exploring Ryūdōji to find the summoning location and the Saint Quartz.
(> You open the door to enter Ryūdōji Temple.)
Oh, it's open!
Alright, it's time for a raid. Come on, give me the Saint Quartz! I know you're hiding them!
(> You search the area.)
(> However, you find nothing.)
Huh? That's strange. I didn't find anything?
Well, why is that? Normally, they should be around here, but I can't find them at all. Am I remembering it wrong...? But I've been through this path so many times, I don't think I could be mistaken.
Let's try looking somewhere else.
(> You head to a different location.)
(> You search the area.)
(> However, you find nothing.)
Alright, next.
(> You head to another location.)
(> You search the area.)
(> However, you find nothing.)
Okay, next.
(> You head to another location.)
(> You search the area.)
(> However, you find nothing.)
Next!
(> You head to another location.)
(> You search the area.)
(> However, you find nothing.)
Where are the Saint Quartz... here...?
If I don't find them this time, I'll give up and move on to the summoning.
(> You head to another location.)
(> You search the area.)
(> You notice a hole in the floor with what looks like stairs leading down to a basement.)
Huh? A basement? Was there something like that here? Right below Ryūdōji, there should be a huge cavern where the Black King is waiting, but to get there, you'd need to enter through the cave...
Should I check it out? Maybe there's something useful down there. It might even save some time.
(> You descend the stairs leading down.)
(> At the bottom of the stairs, you find a surprisingly large room.)
(> In the center of the room, there appears to be some kind of Bodhisattva statue.)
Hmm, let's explore a bit.
(> You search the area.)
(> You find 3 Saint Quartz.)
Oh, we did it! That's enough for 3 servants now. Though, this place still seems like it might have something else. Especially the Bodhisattva statue in the center.
Let's investigate it.
(> You examine the Bodhisattva-like statue.)
(> Upon investigation, you find that this statue does not match any known Bodhisattvas.)
(> Additionally, you feel a strange aura coming from the statue.)
Hmm, it doesn't match any existing Bodhisattvas, and there's a strange presence... It seems like it could be some sort of key item. I'd love to investigate further, but since this is an RTA, I'll have to put that on hold.
I've been saving my progress regularly, so I'll check it out once I finish the run.
Next, let's examine the area around the Bodhisattva statue.
(> You examine the area around the Bodhisattva-like statue.)
(> You find a tattered nun's robe.)
A nun's robe...? Is this the type of clothing female monks wear? I wonder what the stats are like. It could have good properties, so if it's decent, maybe Homokun can wear it.
...Hmm, the stats are pretty terrible. It's really just regular clothing. There are no special effects, and all the stats, except for magic power, are at the lowest value. Not useful. Looks like it was probably worn by one of the nuns here at Ryūdōji.
I guess that wraps up the exploration.
Now, let's move on to the fun part: summoning. This place should be safe from enemy attacks, so we can do the summoning here without worries.
While Homo-kun is drawing the Servant summoning circle, let's talk about the Servant I want to target this time.
First of all, yes. He's often made fun of, but in reality, Spear Niki has some pretty exceptional abilities. He consumes little magical power, which is great, and his Gáe Bolg is almost always a sure hit. Spear Niki's own combat skills are also high, so he's pretty durable. His stress level doesn't increase much, and even if it does, it's released just by having him fight, so he can be said to be a pretty excellent Servant.
Next candidates for Assassin would be Sasaki Kojiro, who consumes little magical power like Spear Niki, or Emiya, who uses modern weapons like Homo-kun.
Needless to say, Sasaki Kojiro will be a great player in the next singularity, so much so that he is called a dragon slayer, and Emiya will be a great player in RTA because of his rationality and versatility. Also, since his equipment is almost the same as Homo-kun's, he can also be used to improve Homo-kun's skills.
As for the rest, rather than saying there are no "failures" when it comes to deterrent-type servants, it's more accurate to say that he's all reliable. He allows us some level of reckless behavior if it's for the greater good, and there is a buff that makes it difficult for stress levels to rise, so stress level management is easy.
For now, this should be about it.
On the other hand, servants I definitely don't want to summon include the ones I mentioned before, but also others like Jack, Shuten-doji, and Kāmā, especially if we're talking about Assassins.
First, Jack. Her performance is excellent, but managing her flags is an absolute nightmare. If her favorability is low, I just get dismantled. On the other hand, if her favorability is too high, she'll physically penetrate into your chest and you will die (4 losses).
The performance itself is top class for Assassins. She has a high chance of dealing effective damage in servant battles, with exceptional NP efficiency and star generation, making her quite strong. Her skill set includes strong evasion, debuff removal, and a high-recovery skill with a short cooldown, which is very useful.
Next is Shuten-doji. She's another servant with challenging flag management. At first, she didn't listen to orders very well. It's probably her nature, or rather the temperament of an Oni… She really dislikes being ordered around. If you fail at managing her favorability, there's a high chance she'll eat you. She'll cannibalize you (5 losses). So, I wouldn't really recommend her to beginners.
Ah, but her performance is very high. It's rare for an Assassin to have a full-coverage AoE Noble Phantasm, and she can apply a variety of debuffs. She's quite fun to use.
Finally, Kama. She's the only landmine among the generally excellent Indian servants. If you fail at flag management, the protagonist will fall and human order will collapse. Well, if it were just the protagonist, it wouldn't be that bad, but she also corrupts the other Chaldea members, making her a top-tier landmine servant (6 losses).
Ah, and when you summon Kama, the chances of summoning Kiara increase as well. Due to the Beast's nature, when one Beast materializes, others often appear in a chain reaction. Since Kama was originally a Beast and she and Kiara share an LR relationship, it makes it even easier for Kiara to appear.
As for Kiara, needless to say she's obviously a massive landmine. That one is dangerous...
Her performance, being a former Beast, is top-tier. She has a very convenient skill set with Charm, Guts, and healing abilities. That setup allows her to endure for a long time, which is nice. If she weren't a landmine servant, she would definitely be a servant worth actively targeting.
Now, as I've been explaining, the summoning preparation is complete. Let's dive into everyone's favorite time: Gacha Time!
(> You throw all the Saint Quartz into the Heroic Spirit Summoning Circle and activate the summoning array.)
(> The summoning array starts to shine, making a crackling sound as if the air is bursting.)
Alright, here we go! Give me a good servant! Come on! Bring on the winning mackerel!
(> The Heroic Spirit Summoning Array began to emit a strong light.)
Wait a second. Could it be...? This might actually be happening!
(> The Heroic Spirit Summoning Array started to glow in rainbow colors!)
I did it!
Hmm, this divine rainbow. It's kind of artistic.
After all, the things I've built up are paying off, huh?
Ahh, this is tough! This is tough! I might pull a big-time servant here and get a WR (World Record)! My standing as a runner is going to go up even more!
(> Suddenly, you hear a sound, like something shattering in your ears.)
(> Then a blinding light suddenly erupts.)
(> The intensity of the light is so strong that you can't open your eyelids.)
Huh?
(> As the light gradually faded, you found yourself frozen, like a frog caught in the gaze of a snake.)
Huh? Why does it feel like there's a debuff paralyzing me? Wait, wait a second...
(> As the light settled, three figures appeared where the Heroic Spirit Summoning Array had been.)
(> You instinctively understood that the immense pressure binding your body was coming from those three.)
What? No way. This can't be real, right? Please tell me this isn't happening! What did I even do?!
"At your service, my dear master! Your loyal shrine maiden fox, Alter Ego, manifests before you! ...I tried to imitate that one-tail, but it doesn't suit my nature. Well, in any case, from now on, please take good care of me, my master."
"Ha... Finally, I've arrived at your side. I am Kama, the goddess of love. Now, you will receive the full reward for making the goddess of love take you seriously."
"Alter Ego. Sesshōin Kiara. I have come in response to the voice seeking salvation. But, hehe... You still call upon a woman like me? How strange of you. I am the demonic bodhisattva who savors all living things, without distinction of sentient and inanimate. It seems that, this time, I will accompany you to the very depths of hell."
(> The three figures before you smiled, almost like holy mothers, but you felt that something about their smiles sent a chill down your spine.)
Ahhhhhh!! This is insane, this is insane! You idiot bastard!!! Ahhhhhh!!!
Ah, (the chart) is fading, fading, slipping away. I can't hold on, I can't hold onto my sanity, why is this happening, why... I haven't done anything wrong, so why—no... I don't want this... this is horrible... it's too much…
