Chapter 2: The Second Chapter
It was as if entering a colorful dream world. The child stood there for a long time until the young man called him. Following behind the young man, Jim looked around curiously. How he wished he could take pictures! China was really mysterious and fascinating~~~ (Narrator: Your vocabulary is really so limited and dull.)
Outside it was daytime, but here it was already nightfall. Outside it was clearly raining and rather cold, yet here it was as warm as spring, with hundreds of flowers in full bloom, and in the open-air area, one could even see the starry sky all over. Jim thought this place should be indoors, equipped with air conditioning, and the ceiling was just a slide projector.
The dim yellow light fell on the corridor through the carved window lattice. One could vaguely hear the clinking of wine glasses and bursts of laughter and cheerful voices inside. One of the magnificent red-lacquered doors was slightly ajar, and a faint sound of the guqin came from inside. Through the crack of the door, Jim saw that in front of the marble screen in the hall, a woman was sitting upright in front of a table, wearing a black cheongsam embroidered with golden chrysanthemums, and playing the black guqin with her slender hands.
On this rare night, the scenery was filled with joy. The moonlight shone on the colorful clouds, and the gentle breeze blew gently, making one feel as if entering the shade of the mountains, longing for it...
The beautiful and moving song "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon" flowed into his ears and into his heart. A cluster of golden crab-claw chrysanthemums was engraved on the black guqin, looking even more gorgeous under the dim yellow light. Jim always felt that the flowers were slowly blooming, and a faint, cool floral fragrance wafted in the air.
Suddenly, the woman looked up and gave him a charming smile, as gorgeous as the crab-claw chrysanthemums on the guqin, with a bewitching charm. Jim was startled and took a step back. The crack of the door wasn't big. It was bright inside the hall while it was rather dark outside. Logically speaking, the woman couldn't possibly have seen him at all. However, Jim always had the feeling that the woman was smiling at him.
His shoulder was gently patted. The child almost screamed out but covered his mouth with his hand. Turning around, he saw Linghu Cong gesturing for him to follow.
After turning N more corners, they walked through a half-moon arched door. It started to drizzle again. Jim looked up and saw the gray sky, but it was still daytime and still not cold.
The path passed through the black bamboo forest. Water droplets slid down from the green leaves onto the ground, dripping and splashing up silver water flowers one after another. There was faint mist floating among the bamboo forest, and the fragrance of bamboo filled the nostrils, making one feel as if in a fairyland.
Walking along, the young man suddenly stopped, and the child bumped into his back.
"What's wrong? Why did you stop suddenly?" Jim asked. His intuition told him that something was wrong. There was a sense of oppression that made it hard for him to breathe, and all his muscles tensed up at the same time.
Linghu Cong stretched out his arm to shield the child behind his back, with a serious expression, as if facing a formidable enemy. "Follow me and back off. When I shout 'run', you run towards the arched door we came from. Do you understand?"
Knowing that Linghu was serious, Jim replied and got ready to run.
The two of them backed off step by step, but the oppression grew stronger and stronger. The child kept panting, and beads of sweat hung on his face.
"Run!" The young man shouted. Jim immediately turned around and started running. Hearing the young man's scream behind him, just as he was about to turn his head to look, a powerful gust of wind rushed over, and something huge pounced on him.
Chapter Three
"Ah~~~" A loud scream spread throughout the entire bamboo forest. The child felt a warm breath blowing on his face, and his cheek was licked. Opening his eyes, he saw a pair of animal pupils.
In front of him was a huge dog, its whole body covered with long white fur without a single flaw. Those animal pupils stared straight at the child. Jim found that his glasses had fallen off and quickly straightened and put on his big brown glasses.
Linghu walked over and tried to persuade the big dog to leave, "Sir, sir, don't get excited. Please listen to my explanation..." He actually called this big dog "sir".
Could it be that the dog's name was "sir"? The child couldn't help thinking.
In the distance, someone shouted loudly, "Father! Father! Where are you?" Five men ran over and were extremely happy to see the dog, "Father, we've finally found you. Do you know how big this place is? It's not easy to find you."
Could it be that the dog's name wasn't "sir" but "father"? There were actually people who gave the dog this name. Wouldn't that mean they considered themselves the dog's offspring? Thinking of this, the child couldn't help giggling.
Since it was a dog, there was no need to be panicked. Jim took out a bag of biscuits from his backpack, took out one piece and handed it to the dog's mouth.
The big dog quickly rolled the biscuit into its mouth with its tongue and ate it, then barked twice and licked the child's face with its big tongue.
"It tickles. Don't lick! Be good~~ Give me your paw." Jim was really good at dealing with dogs. In foreign countries, most people kept pets.????? (Narrator: Let me explain. This is the expressions on the faces of the people beside them.)
The dog obediently put its right front paw in the child's hand.
Linghu held his head with both hands, "Oh my god!!! What are you doing to him? This is such great disrespect..." The other men also looked astonished.
Not understanding why they were like this, the child smiled and said, "Look, the dog is very obedient. Training a dog isn't difficult at all. Give me your left paw!"
The dog then put its left front paw in the child's hand.????? (Narrator: I don't need to explain this, right?)
At this time, a voice interrupted everyone's "fun". "What are you doing?" The voice was very pleasant, like the sound of a xiao, but the tone was cold and emotionless, as if it could freeze the listener to the bone.
Linghu immediately replied respectfully, "Assistant Manager Ling, there was a little misunderstanding just now, but it's already been resolved."
Assistant manager~~ Probably the assistant to the general manager? Jim turned around, wanting to see the high-level person in charge of the hotel.
The young man was dressed in white ancient-style clothing, with a row of flowing cloud-shaped buttons on the front of his chest, a waistband and cuffed sleeves, showing his slender and muscular figure. His long hair, as pure silver as the fragments of moonlight, was tied up with a dragon-shaped crystal hair crown. Two silver threads left on the crown each strung with a silver bell, hanging down with his long hair past his knees. But those pale blue eyes were as sharp and cold as ice blades.
The child stared straight at the young man, admiring his combination of the delicate facial features of an Easterner and the exotic hair and pupils of a Westerner.
What a beautiful person! He was like crystal! A mixed-race person of an Easterner and a Westerner was really good-looking. Running over, he pulled on the young man's sleeve: "Hello! Pretty big brother, can I take a picture with you?"
Linghu was stunned again. The things that happened today were almost too much for his heart to bear. This cold and cruel young man, who was even more terrifying than a demon god, was usually treated with great caution by them. Today, he was actually "flirted" with by a child. (Narrator: Is this flirting?)
Linghu was already ready for first-level refuge, but the disaster didn't happen. The young man bent down and picked up the child, with his right hand supporting his little butt and his left hand around the child's small shoulders, pulling the small body into his arms. What a small and cute body, and there was also a sweet fragrance. The young man hugged him a little tighter.
"Take Lord Dog God back. I'll take this child to see Father."
After saying that, without waiting for Linghu to react, he turned around and left. Linghu was still stunned. What had he seen? What had he seen? That thousand-year-old iceberg actually smiled. Oh my god~~~~ It's the end of the world~~~~ The sky is falling and the earth is splitting~~~~ The dead are coming back to life~~~~ He had to quickly discuss with the King of Hell and ask him to take refuge in the underworld.
Not understanding why the pretty big brother hugged him so tightly, Jim felt that being in the embrace of this beauty was a good deal for him. Although this big brother was a man, he had a nice cold fragrance on him and was also very warm. Jim obediently lay on his stomach and let the young man take him to an antique-looking room.
The young man put him down. The child saw clearly that the furnishings in this room were very elegant. On the left was a hollowed-out flower and vine screen. There was a half-moon-shaped opening in the middle of the screen. On the other side of the screen were placed classical redwood furniture, a huge blue and white floor-standing porcelain vase, and purple gauze tea sets on the coffee table.
On the left was a Chinese-style wooden lattice paper door. The young man walked forward and knocked on the door.
In the center was a three-legged rattan wood stand. Tender green vines coiled around the stand, and on it was placed a transparent seven-color glazed plate. Inside, the light was rippling and emitting seven colors of light. Jim thought there should be goldfish or koi in it. Walking over, he saw that there were two small golden snakes playing in the water. Strangely, the snake heads actually had two horns, and the slender snake bodies had four short claws.
No matter how you looked at it, they looked like the "Chinese dragon" that appeared on TV. However, dragons were fantasy animals and didn't exist at all. Jim couldn't help but get a little closer.
Could it be a new species? Created with DNA technology? Was China's science and technology so advanced? (Narrator: Can't you have a more romantic idea?)
A whole bunch of questions popped up in Jim's mind. (Narrator: "Problematic" kid.)
When the child was looking at the little dragons in the water, the two little guys also noticed him. They raised their pointed little heads, blinked their black and shiny eyes. One of the little dragons suddenly jumped up and floated in mid-air, circled around the child's neck, and then turned from the left side to his back. Jim subconsciously looked to the left. The little dragon was extremely fast and had already circled to his right.
With a hiss, the little dragon kissed the child's right cheek. After doing the naughty thing, the little dragon quickly jumped back into the water and swam around merrily for a few laps, as if showing off to the other one. The other one was unconvinced and also jumped up and pounced on the child.
Unfortunately, it was caught by a big hand in mid-air. It turned out to be the young man who had been knocking on the door just now. The little dragon coiled up in the young man's hand, sometimes in an S shape and sometimes in an O shape. Jim thought it was very interesting and wanted to play with it, but the young man had already thrown the little dragon back into the water. Then he took the child's hand and led him into the already opened wooden lattice paper door.
