The world begins to evaporate away and suddenly I am back lying on my bed in the Matou Household.

"Daily quests, huh?" I muttered after placing the damaged short sword and leather jacket inside my inventory gate. 

The physical training was brutal, but the rewards were decent +1 Stat Point and 500 XP just for completing a workout? That was practically free power and I needed every bit of it. 

I'll need to do this somewhere outside and secluded I don't want that old bastard to find out that I can suddenly use magecraft much less whatever my system was.

I got dressed, threw on a hoodie to avoid attention, and slipped out of the house. 

My best bet was an isolated area somewhere I could train without Zouken or anyone else catching on. There was an abandoned lot not too far from here overgrown with weeds and long forgotten by the city. 

-Abandoned Lot-

By the time I arrived, the sun was just beginning to rise, casting a dim golden hue over the silent streets. Perfect. No one around.

I took a deep breath and started with the push-ups.

"One... two... three..."

By the time I hit fifty my arms were already burning but I pushed through it.

"Eighty... ninety... one hundred!"

Collapsing onto my back I took a few deep breaths before moving on to sit-ups. My abs screamed in protest but I gritted my teeth and powered through just like before.

Next were squats. 

My legs felt like lead weights but I refused to stop every rep was another step away from the weakling I used to be.

Then came the run. 

Ten kilometers was no joke and by the time I finished my lungs felt like they were on fire I stumbled to a stop, drenched in sweat but I had done it. 

After resting I stood up "now... let's see if I can actually use Time Alter properly."

Standing up I activated my circuits once again.

"Time Alter... Double Accel."

A surge of magic ran through me and for a brief moment everything around me slowed down as my body moved twice as fast. My heartbeat thundered in my ears and the strain was intense but I could feel it—the magic was working.

As soon as I deactivated the skill a wave of exhaustion hit me like a truck. 

My circuits were too weak to handle prolonged acceleration.

I went ahead and assigned the single point I earned into my strength when suddenly the system gave a notification.

A surge of warmth spread through my muscles followed by a slight tingling sensation. I clenched my fists feeling the faint difference my movements felt just a little smoother, my body just a little stronger.

It was good and all...but I wasn't satisfied "just how do I go about leveling up my circuits more," I muttered with a sigh.

Then as if responding to my thoughts, a new notification popped up.

I stared at the quest in surprise before grinning "perfect."

If my circuits were too weak to handle prolonged magecraft, then I'd just have to force them to adapt. Taking a deep breath I sat cross-legged on the cold ground of the abandoned lot and focused inward.

"Switch Open"

A familiar spark ignited within me as my circuits roared to life. 

The sensation was still uncomfortable like forcing water through a rusted pipe but it was slightly better than before.

I gritted my teeth forcing myself to hold it. 

The longer I maintained this state the more my circuits would most likely adapt.

Seconds turned into minutes. 

Sweat dripped down my forehead as my circuits burned with exertion the discomfort became pain, and the pain became agony but I refused to stop.

Finally at the ten-minute mark I deactivated my circuits and collapsed backward panting heavily.

"It sucks that I've got school today otherwise I could have spent the rest of the day grinding," I grumbled slowly walking back to the Matou House. 

Once I made it inside, I quietly thanked whatever entity out there that neither Zouken nor Sakura were awake. 

I quickly showered and then placed on my Homurahara Highschool Uniform. 

After quickly getting dressed I moved as silently as possible through the Matou Household. It was still early enough that the house was silent and I didn't want to risk waking up Zouken or Sakura.

That's even if Zouken sleeps at all. 

Stepping outside the house, I took in the fresh morning air and walked to school feeling better than I have my whole entire life. 

A few minutes later and I finally made it to the school. 

Typically, students arrive way later at eight but I came early at six thirty to do some early activities for the Kyoudo Archery club. 

When I entered I saw no one there making me smile "looks like I don't have to deal with that annoying Ayako," I said out loud to myself. 

I grabbed a longbow along with one of the rackets of arrows and went over to one of the ranges. 

I notched an arrow pulling the bowstring back with precision the target was far ahead of me but I'd done this enough to know exactly where it needed to go. 

"Release..." I calmly exhaled letting my muscles relax. 

The familiar feeling of tension filled my chest as I pulled the string back. The aim was perfect, the angle just right. But before I released the arrow, something strange happened. A soft ping, like the quiet hum of a notification in my head interrupted my concentration.

My fingers released the string with perfect timing and the arrow flew effortlessly toward the target. 

It missed the bullseye center landing a few marks off.

I glanced over at the target then back at the bow in my hands that bastard Emiya could do this effortlessly which means his level with Archery must be higher than my level 30.

The system then suddenly pinged with another notification.

"Observe," I said while looking at the bow in my hand.

I deactivated the skill "I should definitely use this on Tohsaka and Emiya's get a look on their stats," I murmured. 

I then picked up another arrow and spent the next two hours shooting until the bell rang signifying the start of classes.

Slinging my bag over my shoulders I walked out the room. 

The halls were just starting to fill with students, all chatting and getting settled for another day of lessons. I pushed through the crowd trying not to get caught in any conversations with any of my passing fan girls. 

I finally made it to my class and was greeted to the chatter of the other students. 

I took a seat near the back of the class "Observe," I muttered taking a look at some of the other students around me.

I dismissed the thought of him and shifted my gaze to the next person.

Tomo was sitting with her head slightly tilted to the side as if she was listening to something. Her stats were still low like Tenji, but her agility stood out slightly. He seemed like a fairly average student as well, with no abilities to speak of.

But then, something caught my attention Fujimura Taiga, our sensei who was at the front of the room her usual energetic self as she prepped for class. 

I was curious so I activated [Observe] again.

How the fuck did Fujimura-sensei have a higher level than me?! And I didn't know she was connected to the Yakuza I thought with shock. 

I turned my gaze toward Emiya whose stats I wanted to see most aside from Tohsaka.

I blinked at the blurred stats frustration and confusion growing in me.

What the hell was going on with Emiya's information? I had already seen his abilities in detail his Nerve Circuits, Projection, Structural Analysis, and the rest.

But those other parts... they were like an unreadable mess. 

Why would they be blurred out?

I gritted my teeth and scrolled down hoping to get a better look at whatever was hidden but it stayed obscured. 

The more I looked at it the more it bothered me but at the very least I can appreciate how his luck is so shitty hahaha. 

I clicked my tongue turning to look over at that bitch Tohsaka.

I gritted my teeth as I looked at the stats of Tohsaka Rin.

 Level 28 way above mine. 

The disparity was ridiculous and the more I looked at her the more it irritated me.

Her Gem Magecraft was at Lv 40, a terrifying level I had no idea how powerful she could be with that but I wasn't willing to find out the hard way.

I also couldn't ignore the description of her thoughts about me "not even worth the dirt beneath her shoes..." I had heard her say worse but to see it in writing just added fuel to the fire and then there was the part about her being "secretly jealous" that I was Sakura's brother instead of her. 

Hmmm....so she was jealous that Sakura wasn't her little sister anymore normally I'd say something along the lines of 'that bitch could have her I don't care' but no I've got a better idea.

The bell rang again signaling the start of homeroom and I dismissed the system notifications for now. Fujimura-sensei clapped her hands to get the class's attention her usual energy on full display.

"Alright, everyone settle down! We've got a long day ahead of us so let's start off strong!"

I leaned back in my seat, arms crossed, already thinking about how to execute my new quest. 

Back at home I barely interacted with Sakura unless it was to remind her of her place but now? Now I had a reason to change that.

The trick was to make it believable if I suddenly flipped into some doting older brother, Sakura might get suspicious so I needed to ease into it naturally.

When lunch finally came around I found Sakura like always waiting by the entrance of my classroom her hands neatly folded in front of her. She gave me a small uncertain smile when I approached.

"Brother Shinji you forgot your lunch bento and I thought I would bring it over for you-"

I cut her off by ruffling her surprisingly smooth purple hair.

"Thanks Sakura," I said forcing as much warmth into my tone as I could manage "you always look after me even though you don't have to," she blinked in surprise her cheeks tinging pink.

From the corner of my eye I caught Tohsaka watching us from a few desks away her lips pressed into a thin line and her brows furrowed slightly before she quickly turned away pretending not to care. 

I still saw it though the slight tightening of her fingers around the edge of her desk. 

The first crack in that perfect composed mask of hers.

Sakura, still wide-eyed from the unexpected gesture, hesitated before smiling softly "i-it's nothing brother Shinji I just wanted to help that's all."

I took the bento from her hands making sure to brush my fingers gently against hers another small gesture meant to reinforce the image "still, I appreciate it you really are the best little sister."

Sakura's blush deepened and she lowered her gaze shyly.

 From across the room I could almost feel the weight of Tohsaka's barely contained annoyance I didn't even have to look to know it was working.

I opened the bento box, taking in the perfectly arranged meal of course Sakura's cooking was as immaculate as ever. I made sure to take a bite in front of her letting out a hum of satisfaction "Seriously, Sakura, you should be a chef or something this is amazing."

Sakura's hands clasped together in front of her the corners of her lips twitching into an uncertain but pleased smile "I'm glad you like it."

 I resisted the smirk threatening to appear on my face.

"You know, Sakura I was thinking... maybe we could go hang out at the mall later on" I mused, tilting my head as if the thought had just occurred to me "I mean I haven't been making a lot of time for and I figured I should treat you out."

Checkmate. 

I felt Rin's stare boring into the side of my head like a dagger her nails tapping against her desk impatiently she didn't say anything but the tension was palpable.

Sakura on the other hand looked genuinely touched "r-really? I'd love that brother Shinji."

"Ugh whatever not like I care," I heard Tohsaka faintly mutter but I was able to pick it up with my sharp ears.
