Fate´s Bloody Path

Prologue

"We will meet again under the same star."

Those were her last words before I lost her forever. She had a way of smiling that could light up the darkest corners of my mind. No matter how hard I tried to hold on to those words, each day without her was a reminder of what I needed to overcome.

I had lived long enough to know pain, but nothing had prepared me for losing her. Her death left me feeling lost, as if the world had dimmed. There was no immediate comfort, no easy escape, just a challenge I needed to face.

We spent hours together, talking about anything and everything, and in those moments, she made me feel like I was the only person that mattered in the world. Those memories kept me going, even when the weight of her absence felt too much to bear.

Days passed, and the wound did not heal. There was no instant solace, only a determination that slowly began to take shape within me. I remember looking at myself in the mirror in my room. There I was, with my messy black hair and slight dark circles under my eyes, a reflection of my accumulated exhaustion.

I thought I would give anything to have her back, but despite it all, deep inside me, I felt a need to go out and find a way to understand her departure. I couldn't just let despair take over—I needed to act. It was in one of those reflective moments, as I fell into a sleep that seemed endless, that I saw him for the first time.

The dream was deep, wrapped in a darkness that made me feel small and insignificant. Yet, despite knowing I was dreaming, something in that place made me feel strangely aware, as if I was not just a spectator in my own mind.

In the midst of that darkness, a presence appeared that I could not ignore. He was dressed in a long, dark robe, his face hidden by a hood. Only a blue glow emanated from within the hood, a cold and piercing light that both drew me in and filled me with curiosity.

I couldn’t see his face, but I could feel his power, his intensity. He spoke to me without words, yet I understood every thought that crossed my mind. He offered me a chance, a possibility of finding her again.

Not in this world, but in another, in another time. I knew I was playing with forces beyond my comprehension, but my hope outweighed any caution. I accepted the deal.

Before I could ask a question, the figure turned toward one of the entrances and murmured, almost to himself:

"Your fate is already sealed, though you don’t know it yet."

In that instant, I was taken to a vast and shadowy space, a place that seemed to exist outside of time. In front of me were three gigantic entrances, each glowing with a blue light, just like the one emanating from the hooded figure.

Through those portals, I could see glimpses of different worlds, different eras, as if all of time was within my grasp.

"You can be reborn," the voice said, echoing in the darkness.

"You will be reborn endlessly, but always in the same era where you fell, facing the consequences of your actions. You will also have the ability to leap between eras. But keep in mind, once you leap to leave an era, you can never return to it. Any mistake made in a prior era will remain unresolved forever, so choose wisely."

I did not reflect on the conditions that were explained to me. Desperation and hope clouded my judgment, and the faint chance of finding her again was the only thing occupying my mind. I accepted, believing that somewhere, sometime, I might find her again.

And so, my journey began. A journey through lives and worlds, with the shadow of loss always chasing me, but also with the promise of hope driving me forward, and the belief that redemption might still be within my reach.
