Fate/Mushoku Tensei: Reincarnated with a Servant's body (Mordred)

Chapter 29: Chapter 29. Asura Kingdom, Fittoa Region

After landing in the capital, the Troubadour ignored the numerous people that stared at them and asked Mordred, "What do you plan to do next, boy?"

It looked like she could tell they're about to part ways.

Mordred hesitated for a while, before replying shortly, "I'm going to Asura."

"Oh, is that so… It's too bad I just came from Asura with Roxy..." The Troubadour looked disappointed.

"..."

"Anyway, I'll be able to write a good song based on today. And I feel that we'll meet again!"

"I feel the same way."

Before parting, Mordred received back the magic ring and gave the Troubadour a few gold coins, then left.

From the beginning until the end he had never learned the Troubadour's true name. She remained in his mind as the mysterious 'Troubadour'. But that's how it was meant to be.

After coming to the palace, Mordred had the royal family of Shirone send information to the Adventurers' Guild that they had taken care of the Blue Dragon.

Mordred stayed one more day in Ratakia before deciding to resume his journey.

By then Zanoba had sold all of the Magic Stones, for a profit of 760 gold coins, which were then turned into a few expensive rare Magic Crystals for the ease of carry.

Before leaving, Mordred told Zanoba, "Thank you for your hard work, Zanoba. You can keep a hundred gold coins for the trouble."

"Ah, nevermind that, Master! I'm glad I could be of help. However, when would we meet again? I feel as if Master is like a free bird that would be difficult to catch wind of." Zanoba seemed reluctant about Mordred already leaving.

Mordred faintly smiled. "I have written this to you in my letter, but I can say it again. In several years from now I plan to join the Ranoa University of Magic in Sharia. If you go there a few years from now… We'll be able to meet."

"Ranoa University of Magic, huh?…"

"In addition, I've decided that the next time we meet, I'll try to teach you how I make figurines."

"Ah!!! Master, thank you so much!" Zanoba suddenly bent down his head at a 90 degrees angle.

"I've taught another person how to do it, but they had a great Magic aptitude, so don't get your hopes up. It's possible you'll fail.

"I understand, Master! Nonetheless, I'm grateful you trust Little Me enough to attempt teaching me your secret arts."

After leaving Shirone, Mordred flew directly west with Hector.

He flew straight west for 4-5 hours continuously and eventually encountered a mountain range in his way.

"Teacher. I think we can just rush through, flying over the mountain range. There's no chance for the Red Dragons to catch us."

"Is that so… It is said that Red Dragons are poor at flight, indeed. With our speed we could probably safely pass through as you said."

"Mmm."

Going south along the mountain range would be a passage through the mountain called the Red Dragon's Lower Jaw. It was the only path that led through the mountain to the Asura Kingdom from the southern regions that allowed people to avoid being swarmed by hundreds of Red Dragons.

But with the speed of Mordred's speeder there was no chance for dragons to catch them.

Following this plan, Mordred continued flying across the Red Dragon Mountain Range. After entering the Red Dragon territory, he simply rushed through it at high speed.

Countless dragons seemed to have noticed him, but soon after he was already gone.

In this manner, Mordred passed through the mountain range in about half an hour.

After leaving the mountainous regions, wide flat lands of green grasslands and forests greeted their sight.

'Here it is, Asura!'

'In the south here would be the Wishiru Region of the Zephyrus, going north next would be the Milbots region of the Notos…'

'And the Fitoa region and the Boreas family would only be even further north, that's where Eris and Rudeus are, still a good few hours' journey away from here...'

Having taken a good look, Mordred said, "Let's take a break to stretch our legs and have a meal. After that, we will travel alongside the mountain range, going north!"

Hearing this, Hector was confused. "Along the mountain range? Should we not travel along the coastline if we want to reach Ars?"

"No, my destination is the Fitoa region and the city of Roa!"

"City of Roa?... Why?"

After all, their original destination was the capital city of Asura and the Water God Style headquarters located there.

Mordred smiled and gave his prepared excuse: "I learned from the Troubadour that in Roa I can find Sword King Ghislaine. She began to work for the Boreas family as a sword instructor. I wish to meet her and have a spar with her!"

With this reason, Hector had nothing to say. Their traveling speed was absurdly fast anyway.

Mordred felt glad. He totally did not want to go to Roa to meet Eris before Rudeus had a chance to begin brainwashing her… Totally not!

In this manner, Mordred continued flying along the Red Dragon Mountain Range.

He continued like this for a few more hours until they reached the Fitoa Region.

After asking around once, he easily found the direction to reach Roa.

By the end of the same day, Mordred and Hector arrived in Roa!

Rather than finding an inn, Mordred decided to simply land inside the castle of the Boreas. He flew over the city and passed high over the citadel's walls.

After that, he slowly floated down to land in the central square of the citadel.

By then, they were long noticed.

A few guards rushed out together with a muscular brown-skinned beast woman.

The beast woman was the one that approached them first once they landed, her sword already drawn and her eyes fiercely locked down on them. "Who are you?!"

Hector stood up first while Mordred was still placing down the speeder onto the ground.

"Are you the Black Wolf Sword King Ghislaine?" Hector asked.

"It is me," said the beast woman. "Who are you and what are your intentions?"

"You don't need to be wary, we don't have nefarious intentions. My name is Hector Grant and I'm a knight of the Kingdragon Kingdom. This is the 16th Prince, Mordred Kingdragon."

After hearing this, Ghislaine frowned. She asked, "Hector Grant? You are the Steady Sword Hector?"

"I am indeed called by that name."

Ghislaine went silent. This meant that this man was a Water Emperor! Unless she struck first and struck fast, he would not be an easy opponent.

In the meantime, a red-haired girl rushed straight to the scene from the stables and began to stand along the soldiers with arms crossed in front of her chest.

Mordred also noticed Ghislaine's wary expression and spoke up, "My name is Mordred. I'm a Sword Saint. I heard about you and wanted to meet you, Ghislaine."

Ghislaine faintly frowned. "You are a Sword Saint?"

"I am."

"... How old are you?"

"Eight."

Ghislaine was silent. The record for the youngest Sword Saint in the Sword Sanctum was 13. How could this boy be a Sword Saint at just 8? It sounded too unbelievable.

But while Ghislaine was silent, the red-haired girl behind her didn't control the volume of her voice as she shouted out, "Eight years old is just like me! How can you be a Sword Saint?! You're lying!!!"

Mordred lightly chuckled. After glancing at Eris, he ignored her and looked at Ghislaine. "How about we bring our swords down first? I apologize for suddenly appearing in the castle like this. We're not here to cause trouble."

Ghsilaine glanced at the young miss behind her, before saying, "... Then let us do that. It would be good if we avoided pointless bloodshed."

She slowly sheathed her sword while Hector did the same.

Suddenly, a loud and clear voice sounded out from the direction of the mansion. "What's all this commotion? Who are you people and what are you doing in my house?!"

It was a middle-aged man with a stern and cold expression, holding a walking cane as he approached them at a quick pace that was impossible for an ordinary human.

"Grandfather!!!" The girl shouted out, looking high-spirited.

Mordred gathered his words and did the Kingdragon nobles' greeting, saying, "My name is Mordred Kingdragon. I'm one of the princes of Kingdragon. Are you Sauros Boreas Greyrat?"

After Mordred's greeting, the man's expression slightly changed, but he still kept staring at him with cold eyes. "I am! I am the owner of this manor. How did you people get here?"

Although Sauros was not shouting at them this time, his voice was so loud and strong that it gave the illusion as if he was.

"We flew here."

"Flew?" Sauros frowned.

Ghislaine quickly explained, "Sauros-sama, they indeed did fly into the mansion from above using that contraption."

"Hmm..."

The floating citadel Chaos Breaker would frequently pass by Roa, so a flying vehicle that could carry two people was not entirely an impossible thing.

After a brief period of silence at the scene, Mordred said, "We're just passing by and decided to pay a visit. Mr. Sauros, I hope you can prepare a room for me and my Water Emperor bodyguard. We're not going to stay for long."

After hearing Mordred's words, Sauros's expression became increasingly dignified.

Firstly, that little prince was not haughty nor arrogant and gave him a level of face while making his request, which made Suaros feel satisfied. Additionally, he was neither overly humble nor servile, which was also to Sauros's personal liking.

But most importantly, at the end, the boy claimed that his bodyguard was a Water Emperor… Naturally, Sauros could not refuse a guest like this as the lord, regardless of the circumstances.

"So you were passing by... Fine then! It looks like you were taught proper manners and behave like royalty should! I will allow you to stay!!!"

Mordred inwardly set out a sigh of relief when he saw that things went smoothly and Sauros granted them a stay in the citadel.

In truth, he had all the right to use brute force and threats to make that happen, but he didn't want to become enemies with Sauros in the beginning because he seemed to be a quite stubborn man for whom the first impression was important. Instead, he used what he knew about him from the novel to solve things peacefully and to get on his good side...

After that was settled, Mordred smiled in a friendly manner and said, "In truth, the reason I'm here is to meet Sword King Ghislaine. But first let's settle down. The two of us are exhausted after the journey."

They flew here all the way from Shirone. Mentally, Mordred was exhausted from constantly maintaining the Zero Gravity Zone. Physically, he was extremely stiff from the hours of sitting. He wasn't in the mood for having a spar with a Sword King at this moment.

"Is that the case? Then come in and have some rest!" said Sauros. He then turned to the mansion's servants. "Prepare a banquet to welcome Prince Mordred properly!!!"

In the meantime Mordred pulled out Ashen Sage from the speeder's handle.

Sauros silently invited Mordred to follow him.

After taking a look at their luggage, Mordred decided to leave it and followed; all of their wealth was on his person anyway.

"Boy, so you came here all the way from the Kingdragon Kingdom?" Sauros asked on the way as he walked next to Mordred, assisted by his cane.

"Yes. I came from Wyvern."

"Wyvern! That's all the way to the south of the continent! It must have been a long journey."

"When flying through the air it isn't that long. It is possible to go from Wyvern to Ars in just a few days," said Mordred. It was possible for him to do that even in a single day at top speed… But Mordred wanted to low-ball the truth.

"Just a few days, eh? That's too hard to believe!"

Mordred maintained his cool, saying, "It is. But when flying in a straight line at high speed it's easy to cross large distances quickly."

"... Is that so? Is this flying machine a new invention of your Kingdragon Kingdom?"

"Not quite. It can only fly thanks to my Gravity Magic. Only I can fly with it… because I'm a Magic Power Miko."

"Eh, so you're a Miko?" Sauros looked at him.

"Yes. But I'm a human too," Mordred replied, faintly smiling.

After a moment's delay, Suaros bursted out with loud laughter: "Ahahaha! Of course."

Around this time, a person appeared in front of him. It was a handsome man in his twenties, waiting for them on the way with an amicable and gentle smile. When the group came close enough, the man placed a hand on his heart and bowed down his head in a dignified noble greeting that was quite different from what Mordred learned.

"My name is Philip Boreas Greyrat. I'm the City Mayor of Roa. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Your Highness."

Mordred replied with the greeting of Kingdragon nobility, except that he didn't bow his head as low as Philip. "Mordred Kingdragon, the 16th Prince of Kingdragon."

"Yes, I have already heard. It's a surprise to have a Prince of Kingdragon visit the city of Roa."

Mordred smiled and replied in a light tone, "I'm just one of many. Father is hard at work. I should have around 50 brothers and sisters combined by now. I already lost count."

"Ahahaha! You're hilarious!" Suaros bursted out into loud laughter and began to strongly slap Mordred on the back. "I really like this boy!"

Mordred chuckled. Luckily, he was tough enough to withstand those slaps without tripping.

Sauros said sternly, "Philip! I can guess what you're thinking! Don't bother the boy with the political nonsense! Today we will eat and drink to welcome Prince Mordred in the manor!"

"... Of course, father." Philip stepped out of their way with a gentle smile.
