Fated To The Four Notorious Alpha Brothers

Chapter 6: Plans

I was still in Bryce's room; I had just woken up. I hadn't planned to spend the night there, but I did. After several rounds of sex, I was too tired to return to my room.

Bryce was getting dressed for work while I watched from the bed. Once he was ready, he turned to me.

"Come down for breakfast," he said before leaving.

A couple of minutes later, the door opened and Nanny Marlowe came into the room.

"How are you, dear?" she asked, walking over to me.

"I'm just here. Good morning," I sighed before pushing myself into a sitting position.

"I'm naked; can you bring me something?"

"Yes, of course." She went to Bryce's wardrobe and grabbed one of his white shirts, then returned to me.

"I know he won't mind," she said and handed the shirt to me. I accepted the shirt and clothed myself.

"I need to wash my face and brush my teeth. I can't go down looking like this," I murmured. My hair was disheveled, and I was sure my face was messy.

"You can use his bathroom; do not worry, I'll clean up," she advised me.

"Thank you." I went into Bryce's bathroom, grabbed a fresh toothbrush, and brushed my teeth. I also washed my face and redid my hair before leaving the room.

"The brothers are already waiting in the dining room," Nanny Marlowe announced as she followed me down the stairs.

"Thank you," I mouthed and hastened my steps. I arrived at the entrance of the dining space and was about to enter but paused as soon as I heard something strange.

"The Lucas brothers are in town," Gavin announced. His voice is edged with anger, but I could also sense fear—fear for me, not of the Lucas brothers themselves. The brothers are never scared of anyone. The cops, the government, not even the Alpha King. This is why they are known as the notorious brothers. They're so fearless, it's quite scary.

"Ignore them," Bryce's voice came. "We already made a deal with their father," he said.

"But what if they attack her again?" Gavin groaned.

"They will do no such thing," Parker interjected, sounding quite confident.

"Yeah, just ignore them. We don't strike first, remember?" Cooper reminded him.

But Gavin didn't look convinced; he had been close with the Lucas brothers in the past, until an incident happened that caused them to become enemies. The incident revolved around me.

The Lucas brothers were twins—Peter and Paul. Peter had touched me inappropriately at an event, and Paul had covered up for his brother. That resulted in a big fight. The memory still traumatized me; the amount of blood I saw that day really terrified me.

I never wanted to experience that again. I hoped they wouldn't start another fight. I hoped they would do their business and leave the country quietly.

"What are you doing over there? Come in." Parker was the first to notice me, and he didn't hesitate to call my attention.

"Yes," I mouthed and took my seat beside him. Bryce rang the bell, and the maids served our breakfast of pancakes with syrup and a cup of chocolate tea.

Minutes into it, Parker made an announcement: "I'll be attending the launch ceremony with Amera on Friday."

With me? Why? Must he bring me along? Couldn't I spend a day alone in my room? Was it forbidden?

"Alright, I need to leave now. I have an emergency meeting with some of the board members." Cooper shoved a pancake into his mouth, stood up, and walked out of the dining room. Gavin was the next to leave, then Bryce, leaving just Parker and me again.

"What are you doing after school today?" he asked.

"I... I have lessons, piano lessons," I informed him. I would also be meeting Ruby's boyfriend for the first time.

"Can you skip that?"

I didn't want to.

"It's... important. I wasn't able to attend the last one," I muttered.

"Okay," he nodded in understanding. "I was hoping to go somewhere with you today," he murmured.

"Where?" I fixed my gaze on him.

"Shopping? We need to shop for the launch event."

"We can go tomorrow."

"I'll be busy tomorrow; you'll have to go alone. I'll call the manager; he'll arrange everything," he said, holding my gaze.

"Oh," I said, turning my attention back to breakfast. But he stopped me, after sliding a finger under my jaw and lifting my face. He wiped syrup from my lips with his thumb, then licked it off—all without breaking eye contact. Then he left the room, as if nothing had happened, leaving me breathless once again.

"Was that Parker?" Ruby's sudden appearance startled me.

"Yes," I exhaled, trying to collect myself.

"Oh, he appears more handsome today." She sat down beside me and brought out her cellphone.

"How has he ever looked indecent?" He was always looking good; they all were.

"He looks more handsome today; that's just my observation." She scrolled through her photos and brought her phone closer to me.

"This is his picture, my boyfriend; he looks good, doesn't he?" She flushed as she stared at his picture.

"He is not bad," I shrugged my shoulders, but my comment greatly displeased her.

"He is very good-looking," she argued.

"He looks average to me," I murmured.

"You'll wait after school today, right? He is dying to meet you. I've told him so many things about you," she smiled.

"Yes, I have some free time today, although I do have piano lessons..."

"You don't enjoy playing the piano; you can lie to others, but you can't lie to me. We'll go to a restaurant afterwards. Come with me." She wrapped her arms around mine and leaned closer to me.

She was right. I didn't enjoy playing any musical instruments. I only learned them because the brothers wanted me to.

"Okay," I whispered.

"Okay? You agree?" Her eyes widened.

"Yes?" I smiled, and she squealed in delight.

"Great! We'll spend the day together then."

"About your boyfriend, I have a question," I said, turning to face her.

"Okay, what is it?"

"What does he do?"

"He? He... he helps his father at his company. He's preparing to take over one day."

"Oh?"

"Why do you ask? Is anything the matter?"

"No, nothing," I smiled. "It just feels like I've seen him somewhere." But I was sure he resembled someone I knew.

"Who? Who is this person?" she asked.

"I can't remember, but he just appears familiar."

"Your questions will be answered once you see him today, but don't chase him away by asking too many questions, okay?"

"Yup, I won't." After I finished my meal, we left for school.
