Chapter 159: Chapter 159: Hecatic Wheel vs. The Spear of the End
[Gray continued her chant, and this time Add's voice shifted, losing its sharp and abrasive tone, becoming calm and magnetic.]
["Psuedo personality suspended. The mana yield rate has exceeded the designated value. Initiating second-stage restriction release."]
["Seal. Thirteen—Decision. Start."]
[Artoria/Lancelot: "This is a battle that will harm no Elementals. Approved."]
Mordred: "That's my father's voice!"
Lancelot: "And mine."
Artoria: "It seems this child has finally realized the true power of the Holy Lance."
[Artoria/Bedivere: "This is a battle against an ememy mightier than oneself. Approved."]
[Artoria/Kay: "This is a battle to live. Approved."]
[Artoria/Gaheris: "This is a battle that does not stand against humanity. Approved."]
[Approved/Agravain: "This is a battle for truth. Approved."]
[Five voices fell silent. The remaining eight remained sealed.]
[Add: "Initiating third-stage restriction release."]
[Gray: "Grave, for you!"]
["May the ancient mysteries perish. May all unsolvable puzzles return to nothingness!"]
["Holy Lance, pull up the anchor!!!"]
[A brilliant spear of light appeared in Gray's hands, radiating a power capable of annihilating all in its path.]
["Hecatic Wheel!!!"]
[Faker roared, her Noble Phantasm fully charged, as her chariot surged forward, bathed in crimson lightning.]
[Gray: "Sacred Lance, removing restraints!!!"]
[RHONGOMYNIAD!]
[The Holy Lance transformed into a radiant beam of light, colliding head-on with Faker's Noble Phantasm.]
[The resulting impact engulfed the battlefield in blinding white light, obscuring everything.]
Darnic: "So this is the true power of the Holy Lance. It's even stronger than what we saw earlier."
Caules: "But… who won?"
Siegfried: "It's impossible to say for now."
Fiore: "The video isn't over yet. Let's keep watching."
[A few days later, at the Clock Tower Hospital.]
[Following the battle aboard the Mystic Eye Collection Train, both El-Melloi II and Gray sustained injuries and were brought back for treatment.]
[The incident caused by Heartless was officially classified as a Dead Apostle attack.]
[As per the tradition of the Mage's Association, the matter was downplayed and quietly resolved.]
[Yvette, who had collaborated with Heartless, was detained for questioning by the Department of Policies. However, after judicial negotiations by the Lehrman family, she was acquitted.]
[Father Karabo's sacrifice was deeply mourned by Pope Julius II, who expressed his regret for being unable to save the old man.]
[The Holy Church chose not to pursue further action, citing a desire to leave the past undisturbed.]
[Once El-Melloi II and Gray were discharged, they received an invitation from Hishiri and agreed to meet her.]
[El-Melloi II wasted no time, bluntly questioning Hishiri's motives.]
[It was revealed that Hishiri had boarded the train illegally, without approval from the Department of Policies, and that her reasoning during the investigation had been deliberately flawed.]
[Hishiri confessed that her intention was to lower Heartless's guard. She also revealed that Heartless was her step brother.]
[Both Hishiri and Heartless had been adopted by "Norwich," the sponsor who established the Modern Magecraft Department.]
Sola-ui: "So she's Heartless's adopted sister."
Tohsaka Rin: "There's definitely something off about this woman."
[Hishiri further pointed out a flaw in El-Melloi II's reasoning aboard the train: the question of Heartless's true motive.]
[Why was Heartless collecting Mystic Eyes? Summoning a Servant was his stated goal, and he had already achieved it. So why instigate such chaos aboard the train?]
[El-Melloi II responded, stating that there was likely more to Heartless's plan and explained the conclusion of the battle aboard the Mystic Eye Train.]
[Faker had not been killed. At the critical moment, Heartless used magecraft to extract her from the battlefield.]
[It was clear to El-Melloi II that Heartless would not let matters rest and that another confrontation was inevitable.]
[The video concluded here.]
Kayneth: "I can't believe Heartless managed to escape."
Tohsaka Tokiomi: "A man who can summon a Servant surely has ambitions beyond mere curiosity."
Tohsaka Rin: "Exactly. It's not like this is unprecedented."
Darnic: "..."
Waver: "Do you think he intends to overthrow the Mage's Association?"
Chihiro: "It's possible."
Chihiro's casual remark struck a nerve with Waver.
Waver: "Don't scare me like that!"
While rebellion might occur elsewhere, Waver dreaded the thought of it happening within the Clock Tower, fearing the loss of countless lives.
The second question concluded, and the system announced the final question of the day.
This was a multiple-choice question: Identify the Heroic Spirit whose class is Lancer based on the following four images.
[Participants had five minutes to answer. Correct answers would be rewarded with one Saint Quartz each, while incorrect answers would result in a deduction of one Saint Quartz.]
[Those who answered all correctly would receive a bonus of five Saint Quartz.]
Gordes: "So, as expected, it's about Lancers this time."
Astolfo: "I'll get all of them right this time!"
Caules: "Honestly, I've given up on this question."
Fiore: "Don't lose hope so quickly!"
Caules: "Yes, Sis!"
[A: The first image depicted a warrior clad in heavy purple armor, wielding a massive sword.]
[The group debated this option.]
Tohsaka Rin: "That can't be a Lancer. He's holding a sword, not a spear."
Illya: "I agree. It doesn't make sense to call that a spear."
Yet the group hesitated, unsure if the image was intentionally misleading.
[B: The second image showed a handsome man with long green hair and a white robe, exuding an ethereal aura.]
Tohsaka Rin: "He's so handsome!"
Sola-ui: "Yes, incredibly so."
Kayneth: "..."
Kayneth: "Judging by the robe, he looks more like a Caster than a Lancer."
Waver: "Teacher, appearances can be deceiving in these questions."
Gilgamesh: "Enkidu."
The golden king instantly recognized his best friend.
Iskandar: "Ah, the one you mentioned?"
Artoria: "Then what is his class?"
Gilgamesh: "How would I know? I haven't seen him since his death."
[C: The third image depicted a young man dressed in modern black combat attire, giving the impression of a contemporary Heroic Spirit.]
Kotomine Shirou: "This one looks like a modern Servant."
Achilles: "Without any visible weapons, it's hard to determine his class."
Sisigou: "If he's modern, he might favor firearms."
"This person…"
Kiritsugu frowned at the picture, staring intently. For some reason, the young man seemed oddly familiar to him, yet he couldn't recall where he had seen him before.
[D: The final picture showed a tall young man clad in golden armor with piercing red eyes.]
[Just from his imposing stance, one could sense the overwhelming majesty and strength emanating from him.]
Karna: "This one is very powerful."
Achilles: "Yeah, I can feel it too."
Vlad III: "Who could this be…? Is he perhaps some sort of god?"
Astolfo: "But he looks like someone who fights with his fists. He's probably not a Lancer."
[The question-answering session began.]
Chihiro almost chuckled to himself. All four of them were Lancers. The system was really pulling a fast one on everyone. Once the answer was revealed, there was no doubt that chaos would erupt.
"Hey, Chihiro, how do we answer this one?" Iskandar asked, draping an arm over Chihiro's shoulder. "You promised to guide me, remember? You can't go back on your word."
"I'm just afraid you won't believe me," Chihiro replied, smiling faintly.
"Don't toy with me. Out with it."
"Just pick them all," Chihiro said casually.
Gilgamesh frowned. "Pick them all? Are you serious?"
Chihiro raised an eyebrow. "What do you think?"
Artoria hesitated, her tone uncertain. "Wait… are you saying that all four of them are Lancers?"
Diarmuid glanced at them, looking puzzled. "I can't tell. None of them seem to be carrying spears."
"Exactly," Chihiro replied with a smirk. "Do you think the system would make it that obvious?"
Gilgamesh narrowed his eyes. "Hmph. Mongrel, are you mocking us?"
Chihiro shrugged. "You're free to choose whatever you want, King of Heroes. If you don't believe me, go ahead and follow your own judgment."
Before Gilgamesh could snap back, Iskandar stepped forward, raising a hand to calm the tension. "Alright, alright, let's not argue over something so small. If Chihiro says to pick them all, I'll trust him."
Artoria nodded after a moment of thought. "Then I'll do the same."
