Fate: How About a New Savior?

Chapter 225: Chapter 225 - Vol. 4 - Chapter 15: A New Singularity (2)

Between the restoration of Singularity F and Olga Marie's awakening, the surviving Chaldea staff worked tirelessly to bring the control room back online. Under Shiomi's leadership, they began investigating the seven new Singularities observed by Chaldeas.

Once she confirmed that her body was functioning properly, Olga Marie returned to the control room.

Everyone was there—Shiomi's wife, Aesc, was seated at a workstation, assisting with operations.

Her claim of being "Heroic Spirit Summon No. 4" had been quietly brushed aside by Shiomi, treating her as regular auxiliary personnel for now.

Romani, seated at a nearby console, tried to stand and offer her his seat, but she waved it off.

"No need. With Professor Lev's betrayal, you're the only one who can take over Master coordination after Spiritron Transfers."

She glanced at Shiomi and, seeing affirmation in his eyes, her tone firmed.

"Let's go over our current situation."

"So far, we've confirmed the conditions of four out of the seven Singularities: the end of the Hundred Years' War in Britain, Septem around 60 AD, the Age of Exploration in 1573, and London in 1888," Romani reported. "Their preliminary Humanity Foundation Values are estimated at C+, B+, A, and A- respectively."

Olga Marie instinctively bit her finger in worry.

The outlook was grim. Any one of those Singularities posed a greater threat than Fuyuki, which had only rated a C.

"We'll have to prioritize the ones with the lowest Foundation Values. Ritsuka is still a rookie Master, with almost no combat experience..." She glanced toward Shiomi. "But thankfully, we still have experienced frontline Masters like you. That alone keeps things from being completely hopeless."

Just as she finished speaking, Shiomi raised a hand to indicate he had something to add.

Olga Marie nodded, handing over the floor to him.

"So far, only Ritsuka and I remain as active Masters. With just two usable Servants in Chaldea, we're desperately short on personnel. In light of this, and at their own firm request, I've submitted a proposal to allow the following three to participate in Spiritron Transfers for Singularities: Sakura, Caren, and Gray," Shiomi said with a sigh.

Olga Marie paused. She remembered they all had Spiritron compatibility, but back then, Chaldea had already settled on a solid roster of Master candidates—especially the elite A-Team. That time, Shiomi had uncharacteristically chosen not to nominate them.

Now, with their numbers so diminished, he had no choice but to accept their initiative.

Still, something else stood out even more.

"So, you've finally decided to lend a hand, Leonardo da Vinci?"

Olga Marie had already noticed the beautiful female Servant standing in the control room.

Whether "female" was the right term, though, was up for debate.

After all, Leonardo da Vinci had indeed been a man in life—but as a Servant, he had chosen to manifest in a body of his own creation… a woman's.

She should probably be considered a female Servant.

In any case, she was the third Heroic Spirit summoned—Leonardo da Vinci, who had arrived at Chaldea back in 2012.

As a peerless genius, she had been critical of many aspects of Chaldea, and particularly furious about the sub-Servant experiments.

She had kept herself in the background until now, largely because Chaldea had sufficient personnel. Though she thought it arrogant to try to safeguard the world with so few people, it had still seemed workable, so she chose to stay and observe.

Only now, after Chaldea had suffered devastating losses, had she finally stepped forward.

"Let's just say I'm doing it for Romani's sake," Da Vinci said lightly. "But I'm currently unable to accompany Chaldea's Masters on Spiritron Transfers. For now, I'm serving as a technical advisor, helping the Masters involved with Spiritron Transfer complete their 'proof of existence.'"

Even as she spoke, her gaze subtly flicked toward Morgan.

There was another top-tier Servant here, hiding her true identity, acting only as support staff and helping with Shiomi's Spiritron Transfer.

Who exactly was she...?

"Fine. I know what you're capable of. Chaldea's losses are significant—we need skilled personnel to handle technical support." Olga Marie accepted the situation.

With this level of loss and no way to reach outside help, Chaldea couldn't recover in less than a year on its own.

Da Vinci's offer to help was more than welcome.

"But there is some good news. Maybe because your original body died, your soul adapted to Spiritron Transfer—or maybe it's due to the nature of your new body." Shiomi looked at Olga Marie. "You can also participate in Spiritron Transfer and take on the role of a Master in restoring the Human Order."

Olga Marie froze, then grabbed Shiomi's arm in surprise. "R-Really?!"

"It's true. As the technical advisor, I can vouch for it," Da Vinci said with confidence.

"Compared to Masters, we still have a relatively sufficient number. And we don't yet understand what Lev meant about the world burning to the 'fourth stage,'" Shiomi said, glancing at Chaldeas, now restored to its original Earth-model form. "So I'm proposing a bold operation plan."

He looked around the control room, then slowly continued.

"We're going to carry out repairs on three of the four confirmed Singularities simultaneously," Shiomi said. "Marie, Ritsuka, and Mash will form the first team to head to the Orleans Singularity; Caren and Gray will make up the second team and go to the Rome Singularity; Sakura and I will form the third team to investigate the London Singularity."

Olga Marie thought for a moment. "So the teams were assigned based on Humanity Foundation Value?"

She knew Gray was a gravekeeper from a rural village in Britain, with combat abilities strong enough to rival most Servants—in some ways, even more formidable than Mash.

"No," Sakura stepped forward. "It's because London has the Clock Tower. Dad believes that since we've lost contact with the outside world, we need to reach the London Singularity quickly and see if the Clock Tower holds any intelligence or resources we can use."

It might be the Clock Tower from over a century ago, but in the world of Magecraft, that didn't mean the knowledge was outdated. Despite some advancements in the last hundred years, magical development had not progressed nearly as rapidly as science had in the outside world.

So the records there were still very much relevant.

"It's a reasonably balanced setup…"

Though Olga Marie felt a twinge of regret about not accompanying Professor Shiomi, now wasn't the time for personal feelings. She nodded in agreement with the plan and raised her hand with authority.

"Then we'll proceed with this strategy. Chaldea begins preparations for simultaneous deployment to the three Singularities!"
