Fate: Hero of Justice Takeover

Chapter 297: [297] Thou Art Also Rome!

A mighty divine thunder descended from the heavens.

The sky was dim, the earth shadowed.

Only one place shone with an unprecedented brilliance!

As if the entire world revolved around this point, countless stellar lights converged on one man, igniting his divinity—luxurious and expansive—enveloping everything. On the colossal spear like a sacred tree, thunderous majesty manifested, and then shattered completely.

Having removed his armour and armaments, wearing only a rough blue tunic with golden-red cloth wrapped around his waist, the man stepped forward. With just one step, scattered golden-red particles instantly gathered.

Boom!

A violent thunder illuminated the universe. The almost blinding brilliance made it impossible to open one's eyes. When the blinding white light faded, the man with deep blue long hair was clad in a noble and magnificent set of golden-red armour.

Thunder fell mightily.

The first lightning strike had once celebrated the birth of a god on the summit of the Seven Hills.

The second lightning offered a prayer in the void, for the supreme god of Rome had once again set foot upon Roman soil!

What an awe-inspiring and dazzling golden-red divine armour it was—its body covered with energy cores nurturing vast power, red lining etched with golden patterns, and heavy folded wings that resembled majestic beasts bowing respectfully before the quietly standing man.

"This... is..." Fujimaru's eyes widened. Even though he was but a guest general of Rome—and temporarily at that—he still felt a resonance from this man, stirring his heart and bringing him close to tears.

If Emperor Nero were here, she might not be able to endure it at all. For the man before them was Rome's supreme deity—Quirinus, Romulus-Quirinus! Disappearing into the storm during a military parade after ruling for thirty-eight years, he had ascended to the heavens to become a god.

He was the supreme founding god of Rome!

Thinking of this, he couldn't help but glance at Beast Draco, who had possessed Nero to manifest herself.

A calamity believed to be the "Beast of 666," the "Enemy of God," a Roman emperor who had fallen into betrayal... This was the conclusion drawn by both the Doctor and Da Vinci.

She alone bore all the sins of Rome (the world): the greed of conquest, the arrogance of domination, the sloth of clinging to glory... and finally, the lust born of human instinct. It was precisely because of all this evil imposed upon her that she could become the Rose Beast that galloped through the cosmos.

Having borne infamy, hatred, and rejection, what did Draco feel in her heart upon witnessing the source of it all—the founder, Romulus-Quirinus?

This question was destined to remain unanswered. Draco continued to gaze at this supreme god of Rome, yet her eyes held neither sorrow nor joy.

And Romulus-Quirinus, too, never cast a glance in her direction.

As he opened his eyes, the third divine thunder descended in a grand sweep, cleaving the heavens and leaving a resounding mark behind.

A deep, rich voice echoed in everyone's ears.

"By the Throne, I am summoned. My arm of light, endowed with a human-defined Saint Graph, is that of a Grand of the Lance."

"My arm reaches the firmament."

"My light grips the firmament."

Sometimes tearing through the world, sometimes pioneering civilization—an existence that, though human, loved humanity. If one were to call these romantic arms "spears," they would be far too large, far too sharp—far too much for any normal Saint Graph to contain. Only a Grand Saint Graph could truly bear it.

Thus—

"My True Name is Grand Lancer—Romulus-Quirinus!"

A fleeting illusion of a divine throne shimmered behind him. The supreme god bowed his head and looked toward the man with white hair and crimson eyes, who held a blood-red spear.

"Then, art thou also my child (Rome)?"

Before Sakatsuki could speak, a powerful rejection surged from deep within his Saint Graph. He smiled faintly, opened his heart, and allowed the emotion to flood his soul.

The red in the man's eyes deepened.

"No, I am no subject of thy command."

Mana surged, spiritual equipment manifested, and divine-era armour and helmet cloaked him, glowing with restrained yet weighty darkness.

Amidst the gasps, the white-haired, blood-eyed general raised his long spear, making no attempt to hide the hostility on his body:

"My name is Sakatsuki. The one who entrusted me with this Saint Graph is none other than the famed general of Great Qin—Lord Wu'an, Bai Qi!"

"I, Gongsun Qisheng, was born of Qin and shall die as a soul of Great Qin! O founder of Rome from across the Mediterranean, dost thou deem the blades of Great Qin weak?"

It was as if two souls spoke in turn from this single body, both expressing rejection toward Rome. To this, Romulus responded with gentle words.

"I can feel something from you—that is Rome," he said. "Human romance is passed down through the ages, young one... and so, even if the wind of romance began in the Mediterranean, it can still blow across the distant lands of the East!"

With arms wide open and a smiling face, Romulus issued his challenge:

"Come, contend with me—let me witness your Rome's advance!"

Wielding arms like lances of light, the golden-red supreme god summoned thunder.

Divine punishment descended!

Right in his hands!

A premonition of death washed over him. Sakatsuki roared in fury, crimson murderous aura surged, and his blazing power scorched his will. His blood boiled, nearly glowing with molten heat.

Golden-red meteors rained down, while a dark bird took flight from the ground, its icy pupils reflecting the enlarging figure of the god!

Boom!

A world-shaking roar spread out like the drumbeat of war. A blood-red flash burst from the ground, tearing through the thunder and light, shattering the trembling air. Spear and blade clashed forward, facing the Grand Lancer with unrelenting ferocity!

In the ocean of thunder, Sakatsuki roared. His heavy armour trampled forward, gales billowed, breaking through the self-regulated divine defense. He stepped upon Romulus's extended forearm, blood-red spear gathering all his might and aiming at the god's head.

One strike thrust out!

Blinding light consumed vision. The feel of a hit transmitted through the spear, but in the next moment, pain struck his abdomen. Sakatsuki was sent flying backwards. As his vision gradually returned, he leapt away, narrowly avoiding the fatal divine thunder!

Before him, Romulus remained as calm as the boundless sea. Though cracks had appeared in the armour on his arm, the light from his core surged ten-thousandfold. As he opened his arms, mana flared wildly, and with the power of a god gathered—

It burst forth!

All obstacles were shattered like bamboo. Crimson crystallization soared at the moment of breaking, like slowly blooming wounds, stretching ever forward.

Piercing through every barrier, one by one.

From above, the blood-colored crystal spreading across the universe was breathtaking—but equally dazzling was the fiery trace that tore through such thick defenses, stabbing the eyes of all who watched!

Like the sea parted by Moses—

It reached the very edge of the sky!
