Fate: Hero of Justice Takeover

Chapter 292: [292] Why Are You Just Standing There Watching!

Facing the leisurely approach of Sakatsuki, all the combat forces of the Roman Empire were already on high alert.

Seated on the throne, the golden-haired emperor wore a composed smile.

Below Nero, the undisputed second-in-command, the Chariot Queen of Britannia, Boudica.

The Master from Chaldea, the fixer of Singularities, the saviour of humanity, Fujimaru Ritsuka.

One of the infamous Gorgon sisters from Greek mythology, Stheno.

The divine tail actively severed by the legendary great yokai Tamamo-no-Mae, Tamamo Cat.

The Bloody Countess (young form) from Čachtice Castle, Elizabeth.

And the Saber whose true name had been revealed after unleashing her Noble Phantasm—the reversed version of the illustrious legend of Britannia, Artoria Pendragon.

Rumour had it that on the very night her identity was disclosed, Blackened Saber was dragged by an excited Boudica into her room for a full half-hour. As for what jaw-droppingly risqué, twist-filled, thrilling, and pulse-pounding events transpired between the two beauties…

Well, let's just say Fujimaru Ritsuka, a hot-blooded young man who was accidentally caught up in the aftermath, tossed and turned all night, unable to sleep for days afterwards.

Damn, Queen Boudica is something else!

But alas, joy and merriment were fleeting. Now, they had to give their all to defeat the enemy before them.

"Why bother? Joining me would yield the same result," Sakatsuki said with a light laugh, facing the tense group. "Your goal is the Holy Grail, isn't it, Chaldea? If so, why cling to the Roman Empire?"

"At this point, why bother trying to provoke us with words?" Fujimaru countered calmly. "Isn't this exactly the outcome you wanted to see? Your secrecy, your betrayal, your reckless actions—wasn't it precisely these capricious deeds that pushed us away? Lord Wu'an?"

With the analysis from the Doctor over the comms, Sakatsuki's true name had long been uncovered. Not to mention, the man had never made any effort to conceal it—he simply hadn't volunteered the information.

But the gap between "never hiding" and "openly disclosing" was practically indistinguishable from "deliberate concealment."

"Hmm, you've become quite sharp-tongued, Fujimaru," Sakatsuki chuckled. This time, he nodded frankly.

"I was never a traveller belonging to this world to begin with. The survival of this Singularity means little to me. My arrival here was purely coincidental—one might even say it was due to personal matters."

At the mention of "personal matters," Nero on the throne shifted slightly, seemingly displeased for some reason.

"Fujimaru, I know what your goal is. Find the Holy Grail, take revenge against Lev for destroying Chaldea—but to achieve that, you must get past me and reach the United Roman Empire."

Spreading his arms, a bloody aura surged around him as the white-haired man made no attempt to hide his fighting spirit.

"Then, give it your all to entertain me!"

"Now!"

The spark fell, and the powder keg ignited in the palace.

The first to strike wasn't Sakatsuki—it was Stheno.

"Smile of the Stheno!"

Noble Phantasm unleashed.

As the embodiment of "beauty" among divinities, a single glance or smile from her was enough to captivate even the bravest of heroes.

Past battles had already proven that even Sakatsuki would fall under her spell.

The petite goddess smiled, her eyes sending a flirtatious glance. A flicker of confusion passed through the man's blood-red pupils, but he quickly shook it off.

Yet, all Fujimaru needed was that split-second opening!

"Saber, Tamamo Cat, Elizabeth, go!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, three figures shot forward, breaking through the bloody aura's blockade and closing in on the white-haired man in an instant. The dragon idol struck first, swinging what could either be a microphone or a gun straight at Sakatsuki.

As the bloody aura condensed into an energy hand to block the blow, a spiked warhammer shot out, aimed directly at the self-proclaimed idol's face.

"Woof!" Tamamo Cat let out a fierce roar, her seemingly soft paw pads batting the weapon away. Then, stepping on Elizabeth's shoulder—ignoring the latter's shrieks—she lunged at Sakatsuki like lightning.

In haste, Sakatsuki summoned a shield to block the Berserker's charge, using the momentum to retreat and create distance.

"Don't even think about it!" A cold voice rang out as Blackened Saber appeared behind him, her holy sword swinging down without mercy, sending Sakatsuki flying like a baseball. He crashed through the wall, smashing into the room opposite.

As Sakatsuki rolled to recover, before he could even react, the shattered wall collapsed further. Elizabeth charged through, complaining all the while, swinging her microphone-gun wildly, while Tamamo Cat laughed carefreely, her claws slashing down with a vicious gust.

Sakatsuki dodged their chaotic assault with ease, but just as his bloody aura began to gather, a sudden slash came from behind.

Bang!

The holy sword struck his flank, shattering the protective blood-crystal armour instantly. The white-haired man coughed up a mouthful of blood but didn't retreat—instead, he turned his head with a ferocious grin.

Blackened Saber remained unfazed. Seizing the opportunity, she drained a massive amount of Fujimaru's mana without hesitation. The sword locked against the blood-crystal began to hum, radiating brilliance.

Fujimaru, standing guard by the throne, felt his body grow weak, as if he'd been grinding for days without sleep. He groaned, dropping to one knee, but didn't voice any protest.

Among all the Servants, only Saber's Noble Phantasm could harm Sakatsuki. And due to mana constraints, they had only one shot at using their trump card.

Now, having seized the initiative and relentlessly pressured Sakatsuki, was the perfect moment!

"Excalibur Morgan!"

At point-blank range, the mana wave was unleashed. A shredding whirlwind erupted, sending Tamamo Cat and Elizabeth screaming as they turned tail and fled. Even Stheno quickly moved behind Fujimaru, using his body as a shield against the storm.

The black-purple beam roared through the palace, piercing the daylight and nearly reaching the great sun in the sky.

"Is it over…?" Fujimaru forced himself up, peering ahead.

Two figures stood side by side, one leaning against the other.

As the dust settled, the sight made Fujimaru's eyes widen in shock.

Because the white-haired youth, still wearing a faint smile, stood there perfectly unharmed—while Saber, her visor now removed, lay limp in Sakatsuki's gentle embrace.

Saber was the one who had fallen!

"You… how did you do that?"

"The same move won't work on me twice!" Sakatsuki grinned brightly. With Saber's holy sword no longer a threat, several giant soldier constructs rose behind the white-haired man, chasing down the remaining Servants. Sakatsuki himself weaved through the chaos, effortlessly defeating every Servant with the spear techniques engraved deep in his soul.

Tamamo Cat, who had been the most unruly, was hammered unconscious with eighty strikes. Elizabeth, whose combat skills were third-rate at best, lasted only a few seconds before Sakatsuki grabbed her dragon tail and swung her around like a flail, finally tossing her, dizzy and cross-eyed, at Stheno—who had been trying to sneak away.

With a "thud," the dragon idol and the goddess were down for the count.

In the blink of an eye, the battle was decided.

But what puzzled Fujimaru the most was that from start to finish, Boudica—the empire's second-in-command—had remained by Nero's throne, silently watching as Sakatsuki marched toward victory.

"Queen Boudica, why are you just standing there watching?!"
