Chapter 4: [4] Pressure Points
It's the day after my date with Mia, we didn't go beyond kissing besides maybe Mia's hands slipping underneath my shirt for a few seconds.
My head's still buzzing from the events of the previous evening, I can still feel the feeling of Mia's lips against mine the feeling hasn't faded…and not to sound too much like Anakin but the kisses haunt me…I can't get the moment off of my mind, and worse yet I feel like a fraud…because I'm not really Brian O'Connor.
'Too bad I can't just fully devote myself to this new reality, I mean sure when I'm doing something…I can push away thinking about the fact that I body jacked Brian O'Connor…but the world keeps turning and doesn't give a damned fuck about how I feel.' I think as the burner phone in my pocket buzzes three times, hangs up calls again rings one time, it's a coded communication meaning only one thing, my bosses aren't happy and they want to meet.
No address…but we have a cold location set up for meetings.

Downtown LA. Parking garage. Fourth level.

I pull the Eclipse into a far corner spot where there's a dead zone in the parking garages security system, just like I've done twice before, killing the engine's ignition, breathing in then out.
Agent Bilkins is already waiting, standing beside a plain black sedan…a Lexus something, not even a crown vic, the fat black FBI agent has that smug tight-jawed look he gets when he's happily about to chew someone out, after all shit rolls down hill.
Sergeant Tanner, L.A.P.D. liaison with the F.B.I and my actual boss leans against the hood of a station wagon parked nearby, arms crossed over his chest and looking fed up with everything.
"You've been under for three weeks, O'Connor, I want results." Bilkins starts in on me before I can even say hello. "You promised us Dom's crew was the key to the highway hijackings. So where's your proof?"
"I'm still working them," I say coolly. "I-I'm close…to getting in, through Mia Toretto I just need a bit of time to get in deeper with her and in turn her brother, so I can see their whole setup yet."
Tanner pushes off of the hood. "Stop trying to play house with Toretto's sister Brian, we're building a case here, not your love life…don't try to make excuses Brian. I've seen the surveillance photos."
I stiffen at that…because even, I know the way that I look at Mia is too real to be some facade for a cover, "You want me close to Dom? Mia's the fastest way in…you knew that when you guys picked me to go undercover in the first place it wasn't just my Juvie record."
Bilkins narrows his eyes. "We don't need a love story, we need results. The hijackings are escalating, two more semi drivers have been hit…truckers are starting to arm themselves…If we don't nail this soon, we're going to have a Thunderdome situation on LA streets, I won't have a black mark on my service record because you can't produce results and the big bosses pull the plug and we lose this entire operation."
I clench my jaw. "I'll get you your proof."
"You've got a week." Bilkins tosses a manila envelope on the hood of my Eclipse. "Here's everything we have on the other crews. Look for overlapping…connections…anything."
"There is one, Johnny Tran's crew. I've been hearing business relationships have soured between Toretto and Tran…because Toretto slept with his sister…he's also got the real estate to store the stolen merchandise." I say and Bilkins smirks as him and Sergeant Tanner leave, Tanner shoots me a look of warning.
I stand there a little while longer walking over to the Eclipse and slipping into the driver's seat, letting the distant sounds of the city's night life wash over me. While I rest my head against the steering wheel, 'What am I going to do…being a transmigrator…in the body of someone who's living a double life world split between being an undercover cop, the other…' I sigh softly at my thoughts.
"Then there's Mia…I feel like shit, pretending to be someone I'm not…"

Toretto house, Late evening after the date.

Letty is sitting out back on the small little back porch, blunt in one hand, beer in the other, as Mia pulls into the driveway.
Mia gets out of her car and practically skips over and plops down next to Letty and takes the blunt from between Letty's fingers with a small smile she can't quite hide on her face.
Letty gives her a look. "You're practically glowing…did it finally happen?" Letty questions in a mix of teasing and seriousness.
Mia tries to play coy…and fails. "Oh you know, I went for a little drive."
"With Pretty Boy?" Letty pretends like she doesn't know, arching an eyebrow and looking at Mia in mock surprise.
Mia nods slowly, eyes taking on a dreamy look. "So…okay let's start from the beginning, obviously you know some of it but anyways. He stayed up the whole night to finish working on his car, comes in all shirtless…fresh out of the shower…mmm, yummy, this afternoon, then says the sweetest cheesiest stuff he possibly can after being a shameless flirt…and asks me if we can go somewhere's just the two of us to race because he's never actually raced someone before…and so I pick the scenic route."
Letty snorts interrupting Mia "So he's got a romantic streak…shocking. This scenic route is…it, my scenic route, the one where I let your brother pop my cherry?" Letty says before questioning teasingly.
"Maybe…anyways when we got there I was nervous, you know it's pretty much my first date…since graduation two years ago with everything that happened with Jeremy. And Brian he just made me feel I don't know how to explain it, then we go to start racing…but I don't want to leave him behind and we end up swerving between one another we didn't end up treating it like a race…it was…it was just fun, we both just wanted to spend time with one another."
Letty looks at Mia, Letty's expression becomes more serious upon hearing that, "And how far did it go?"
Mia glances away, cheeks warming. "Not far. Just… kissing…Brian is a really good kisser…" Mia murmurs and passes the blunt back to Letty when she holds out her hand for it.
Letty nods, taking a sip of her beer, before taking a pull of her blunt. "If you really like him…you're going to have to tell Dom, so he can get Vince to stand down."
Mia smiles, "Yeah, I know I have to tell Dom…is it bad that I want him and Vince to fight just so I know whether or not Brian can handle himself in a brawl?" Mia asks a little timidly while Letty leans against her heavily and laughs softly.
"Probably but we'll learn a lot by how he reacts…just be careful Mia, hot guys like that…they don't always stick around."
Mia leans against her, "You know you almost sound like you have experience…miss I've only ever been with one man." Mia teases lightly.
Letty laughs dryly. "You're right…but look how that's going for me." Letty mutters and the heartbreak is clear in her voice.
Mia reaches her arms around the slightly older girl who is basically her sister and hugs her tightly, "You deserve better."
Letty exhales,"We both do."

Getting done with a large parts delivery I decide to stop at the Cafe and get something to eat.
Walking into the café just before my usual lunch time, I see that Vince is here, leaning against the counter like he owns the place, and is trying to flirt with Mia. Hi gaze narrow when he sees me entering the place, I smirk at him.
He doesn't say anything. Not yet.
But his short fuse is about to run out. I can feel the explosion coming especially when Mia leans over the counter to kiss me and I cup her cheek and return the kiss passionately.
'Bring it Vince.' I think but all he does is continue to glare at us before huffing and storming out of the cafe.
Mia and I both break the kiss at the same time, "So is it too soon to come kiss you at work?" I ask Mia with a teasing smile.
"Hmm." Mia hums playfully and makes an expression of mock playfulness.
"If it was, I would have smacked you…not kissed you back." Mia snickers and moves to start making me a sub as I let out a chuckle.
"Vince is probably going to do something dumb…like start a fight with you…" Mia warms me with a bit of reluctance.
"Yeah, I figured by the way he just reacted…but thank you Mia now I'll be expecting it from your "like a brother."" I thank her while adding a bit of teasing on to it making Mia glare over her shoulder at me but there isn't any heat…well there's a certain heat there but not one that tells me I made the wrong kind of joke anyways.
