Fantasy World: Seducing The Heroine At The Start

Chapter 102: Conflict over the Spirit Soul Ember

After a few more smaller items were auctioned off—things that the major forces looked down upon and Feng Yun barely spared a glance at—the room began to lose some of its earlier energy.

The black tiger had stopped bidding altogether, clearly frustrated, and Feng Yun didn't bother either. The items that followed had no real appeal to him.

Then, the final item was unveiled, and the entire auction hall fell into a deep silence.

"The last item is the grand finale of this Chamber of Commerce," the auctioneer's voice rang out. "The Spirit Soul Ember, an artefact that is said to contain the essence of ancient spirits. This item is a rare treasure that can heal soul injuries."

"_due to the nature of the consignment, the starting price has been set by the customer._ The opening bid is 100 million spirit stones. Each increase must not be less than 5 million spirit stones."

The room suddenly erupted in murmurs.

"A Spirit Soul Ember?"

Feng Yun's eyes narrowed. He had heard of this legendary treasure, but he had never seen one with his own eyes. The crystal that was being displayed was small and round, glowing faintly with a spectral light that seemed to stir the air itself. It radiated a chilling aura that permeated the entire hall.

It was clear to everyone that the Spirit Soul Ember wasn't something just anyone could wield.

The power in its core was said to be capable of amplifying the soul's energy and could have profound effects on divine sense cultivation. The essence of ancient spirits was trapped within the ember, making it incredibly valuable but also incredibly dangerous fortress.

But the opening bid… 100 million spirit stones?

"I'm sorry, but did I hear that correctly?" One voice rang out from the crowd. "100 million spirit stones? For an ember?!"

Someone scoffed. "The market price is nowhere near that high! No one in their right mind would pay that much!"

In the back, the Crazy Sword Master, a notorious lunatic known for his unpredictable actions, stood up, his wild eyes flashing with greed. "Don't be foolish. I'm buying this!"

The Crazy Sword Master was always looking for powerful artefacts, and this Spirit Soul Ember was as close to a sacred relic as one could get. With a loud crash, he swung his hand to place the first bid.

"100 Million!"

The room's chatter increased in volume, with many mocking the Crazy Sword Master for his impulsive bidding. But one person's eyes were glued to the display, and his attention never wavered: Feng Yun.

"Tell me about the Spirit Soul Ember," Feng Yun asked, his voice calm and even.

Hu Xian'er, who was beside him, seemed hesitant but began to explain.

"Spirit Soul Ember is a treasure born from the remnants of ancient spirits. Its essence is said to amplify one's soul cultivation, especially for those who possess powerful soul-based abilities. It can enhance one's soul power or even aid in reviving or evolving certain spirit arts."

Feng Yun nodded. "And the price?"

"Under normal circumstances, its value would not exceed 20 to 30 Million. The market is inflated for the auction—someone is clearly trying to bait a fight."

Feng Yun glanced at the small glowing ember, his expression unreadable.

"What about the Crazy Sword Master? He's a sword cultivator. Would the ember help him?"

Hu Xian'er shook her head. "The sword cultivator's path focuses more on refining the body and forging sword intent. The Spirit Soul Ember wouldn't be of much use to him unless he wanted to break through to a new level of soul strength."

Feng Yun's eyes flickered. He could already sense the intention behind this inflated price. It wasn't about actually selling the item—it was about testing someone. And the Crazy Sword Master was the perfect target.

As the Crazy Sword Master approached the Spirit Soul Ember with a look of intense focus, he made an attempt to use his space ring to snatch it.

But to his surprise, a restriction barrier flared up around the ember, blocking his attempt.

The Crazy Sword Master scowled and raised his hand, summoning a sliver of his sword intent. The sword glow crackled around his fingers as he prepared to break the barrier by force.

However, before he could do anything further, another powerful presence descended upon the scene.

A figure in a black robe, his face shadowed by a broad-brimmed hat, stepped from behind the stage. His aura was suffocating, far colder than anything the Crazy Sword Master had projected.

"You're bold to think you can just take it," the man in black said coldly. His voice was like the freezing wind of a blizzard.

The Crazy Sword Master turned to face the newcomer, his eyes narrowing. He could feel the power radiating from this individual—someone stronger than him. The man's aura was precise and controlled, but it was full of dominance.

"Old lunatic," the man in black continued, his voice tinged with mockery, "this Spirit Soul Ember belongs to me. If you want it, you'd better come up with the spirit stones, or you'll regret trying to take it."

The black-robed man's gaze turned sharp, and with a flick of his hand, the ember was drawn back into his grasp, like a magnet pulling the treasure closer.

The Crazy Sword Master's eyes widened in shock. He had been stopped—the treasure was no longer in his reach.

"Who is this guy?" Feng Yun muttered to himself, his eyes glinting with curiosity.

Hu Xian'er whispered beside him. "This one is a dangerous character—he's on the top of the villain list. You don't want to make an enemy of him."

The Villain List was a list of notorious figures with immense power and ill repute. The man in black was clearly not someone to be trifled with.

Feng Yun's lips curled into a slight smile. He could already see what was happening. This entire spectacle wasn't just a sale; it was a game.

The Crazy Sword Master, his face contorted with frustration, tightened his grip on his sword. "If you think this is over—"

"100 Million," Feng Yun interrupted, his voice loud and clear. The entire hall went silent as all eyes turned toward him.

Even the Crazy Sword Master paused. His gaze flickered from Feng Yun to the black-robed figure and then back to Feng Yun.

"I want it."

The air became still as everyone waited for the next move.

For a moment, it seemed as though even the black-robed man was momentarily stunned.

The Crazy Sword Master's sword intent swirled around him like a storm, and the room seemed to buzz with anticipation.

"100 Million, going once…" The auctioneer hesitated, clearly surprised at the boldness of Feng Yun's offer.

Feng Yun's eyes locked onto the black-robed figure. "Take it or leave it. I'm paying the price."
