Effects: Increases Chakra reserves by 20 + 2% per level

Effects: Increases Water and Wind affinity by 10% + 1% per level, and sets Frost affinity to the maximum. Decreases all other affinities by 20% + 2% per level.

Effects: Increases the power of all Ice, water, and wind affinity Jutsus by 30% + 3% per level, while weakening other Jutsus by 20% + 2% per level.

Note: A dead legacy, will you revive it?

[Jutsu: Yuki-clan collection]

Quality: Deep Purple

Requirements: Kekkei Genkai: Ice Release

Effect: Teaches all Jutsus of the Yuki clan and integrates them into your Kekkei Genkai, not taking up any Jutsu slots.

Note: This collection of Jutsu is a complete legacy, containing every Ice-Release that hasn't been lost in time.

"These two items… they are incredible—however, one is nearly useless without the other! I can't believe I got them both from a single chest. This is not something like the [Skillbook: Sword Proficiency], which is expensive, but common. This is a very rare item, only able to drop from Haku! Also, you need both the [Kekkei Genkai: Ice Release] and the [Jutsu: Yuki-clan collection] to make full use of them!"

"The Kekkei Genkai is similar to the fruit Tereza ate, right? It seems to be extremely strong, but there's a clear warning that you won't be able to obtain a similar innate skill ever again," Menchi notes.

"Yes, I think you're right. It grants you a new innate skill—a free skill not even requiring a slot. Also, these effects are insane, and I'd say they are even clearly overpowered. Your Jutsus will be way more powerful, and you'll have 40% more Chakra at max level. If you focus on Jutsus or Chakra in general, this is exactly what you want. However, you also pretty much lock yourself into a specific style, forcing you to focus on just Water, Wind, and Ice Jutsus. I guess we can try to auction them off together as a package. There should be people interested in this. Maybe even offer the other Jutsu we got as a bonus? It's a Water Release Jutsu, after all."

"Sounds like a plan, you've got a knack for this." Menchi nods, not seeing anything wrong with Alex's approach.

Soulmate should open the other chests as well!

"I don't expect much, but let's see!"

"Pretty good," Alex says, before he looks at Menchi and also feels Jewel waiting for his explanation. "Why don't you take over for once. I feel like a know-it-all. Hermione would be jealous of me!"

"Let me try then," Menchi says with a grin. "So, two chests are just FC—those are duds. The ones with the [Spear] and [Sword] contain these white items, like the ones we picked up. I guess that's okay. The Soul Crystal is a nice surprise—it's a huge windfall since the Soul Crystal is easily worth 20,000 FC."

Alex nods, "I agree. Exactly how I see it."

The Ryō Promissory note came out of Gatō's chest, right, Soulmate?

"I think so." Alex replies

[Konoha 1,000,000 Ryō Promissory note]

Quality: Deep Green

Effect: Can be exchanged for 1,000,000 Ryō in Konoha at the Fire-Daimyō's mansion or sold directly to the system for 10,000 FC. After this mission, this option will permanently disappear.

Note: Backed by the Fire-Daimyō himself. The authenticity is guaranteed, however getting paid may take some time.

Alex then says: "Let's take a vote, on 3, 2, 1."

"Sell!"

"Sell."

Sell!

"We're in agreement for once. I thought you might suggest to sell this to other players, Jewel," Alex says.

Obtaining Ryō has turned out to be quite easy. This seems like a useful item, but if players resort to unlawful means, this item becomes useless. Also, currency doesn't seem to be a large factor in this world. Furthermore, it may be unreliable, and it is only backed by Konoha and it may require a long time to get paid. Jewel thinks Soulmate should take the guaranteed FC. This is not a gamble Soulmate should waste his time on.

"I agree, but I'm still not sure… Anyway, what we need now is strength. I don't think we'll get much more even if we sell it. Let's turn it into FC!" Alex says.

As Alex activates the effect of the item, the [Konoha 1,000,000 Ryō Promissory Note] disappears and Alex gets a new notification instead.

"I guess… we're done. Let's go back…" Alex says with a tired expression. "We can organize our spoils after this mission is over," he notes.

It takes the group quite some time to make their way back.

Alex suddenly slows down, the effect from [Drakul's Vitality] disappearing. Instead, Alex is now burdened with its debuff.

All stats decreased by 5.

Natural HP regeneration decreased by 80%

Now lacking the stats to wield his [Executioner's Blade], its effects are no longer active, further weakening him as Alex is visibly struggling carrying it on his back.

"Fuck… might as well store it! This thing is heavy, I feel so weak right now," Alex curses.

"Oh?" Menchi approaches Alex, grabbing his hand. She squeezes it softly, slowly increasing her grip strength until Alex can't handle it anymore and shakes it off.

"Hehe, you are even weaker than me now, and that is without Nen added to the mix. How cute!" she laughs.

Princess Jewel will protect her Dearest Soulmate!

"You know, I should have expected you to use this chance to toy with me. Stop it, seriously."

Alex, now without his sword, makes his way back to the bridge, looking for Tazuna.

As they reach it, they quickly see him and other workers talking—some of them visibly excited, even cheering—while Tazuna himself looks worried.

Alex approaches them, trying hard to act casual, like he isn't weakened and tired.

"Hey Tazuna, why the happy faces?" Alex asks with a smile.

"Heh, well, how did your recon go? Surely you must have witnessed yourself what happened," he retorts with a skeptical look.

"Heh, I guess I did. Maybe from a closer distance than you think. News travels fast, huh? However, by now we all know it was Zabuza and his student who did the deed, right?" Alex says with a grin.

"Hehe, exactly. You know what I find a bit confusing, though? It was indeed a man wearing bandages and Zabuza's famous sword, as well as a smaller person with a mask. However, some people mention a demon spider… that is something I didn't expect from Zabuza… well, there's also the fact that they are both heavily wounded, which is not known to anyone but us," he says with a smile.

"Well, maybe Zabuza liked how strong Jewel is and got himself his own companion," Alex jokes.

"Yeah, yeah… sure…" He pulls Alex aside, Menchi following along.

"That was risky… but I can't help but bow before you. You did a great service to our small country."

"I'll give you the money I took from him later, you can decide what to do with it. I trust you!" Alex says.

"You… Why are you going this far for us?!" he asks, visibly confused.

"Just paying back my debt. Also, it's the right thing to do. Anyway, I'm tired, so I'll get back home for now, okay? Don't worry about getting attacked."

"Sure, since Gatō is now gone, Zabuza will leave us alone as well," he says with a relieved expression.

"Hehe, yeah, you don't have to worry about him again…." Alex says before walking back to Tazuna's house, shocking the old man, his eyes nearly bulging out.

As they arrive at Tazuna's house, Tsunami greets them with a smile. "How are you doing? Should I cook something for you?"

"I'll help out," Menchi offers, walking into the kitchen.

Alex, meanwhile, lies down in the living room, closing his eyes, relaxing a little.

Jewel climbs onto his stomach, resting over Alex like a guard dog.

Around two hours later, Alex sees the sun slowly setting and smells the delicious aroma of freshly prepared food.

Tazuna, accompanied by Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura, enters the room. Even Kakashi joins them.

Joining everyone at the table, the atmosphere is weirdly mixed—Tazuna smiling, however Team 7 looks shocked, with the exception of Kakashi, who looks normal, promptly asking, "What is this atmosphere? Did something happen?"

Sakura then says, "Zabuza and his friend have killed Gatō and most of his henchmen!"

"Impossible, they were both hurt. Also, they have their reputation. They would never openly kill their client! That would make them unemployable," Kakashi says.

"A man wearing bandages, carrying Zabuza's famous sword, accompanied by a masked person, and according to some people, a giant spider, were seen committing the deed," Sakura goes on, lowering her face.

Kakashi stares at Alex in shock.

"What a coincidence," Alex jokes. "Well, everybody has already deduced it was Zabuza, so let's leave it at that. I have a strong feeling he won't be able to clarify the situation."

"I see," Kakashi says. "You also look rather weak. Got hurt during training, I suppose?"

"Something like that. I'll feel better tomorrow!" Alex says.

"Why did you do it?!" Naruto asks loudly, clearly in shock.

"Well, because I am a hunter! I decide what and who I hunt and what I fight for. I am not bound by missions," Alex answers honestly.

"Hunter…" Sasuke repeats, clearly intrigued.

"There is still danger. Maybe someone will pick up Gatō's business, and if someone does, he or she will share his interests in preventing the bridge from being completed. So our mission is not yet over!" Alex cautions them.

"That is true," Kakashi says. "So let's stick by our original plan. Please guide my students tomorrow."

"Sure," Alex says, a slight grin on his face.

I need a break, and I'll see if there's some way to profit from this. I have a plan!
