Chapter 13: "Week 2: Day 3 (Night): Dino: The Black Hole of the Sky, The True Element (3)"

In her dream, Saya saw a vivid orange Sky Flame resembling Tsuna's, but it was different—playful and vibrant, almost as if it were dancing. It exuded energy and cheerfulness, blazing brightly yet invitingly, as if calling her to touch it.

"Come play with me," it seemed to say. She wanted to reach out, but a part of her hesitated, unsure of what might happen.

Suddenly, the flame transformed into a majestic Sky Flame horse. It gently nuzzled her cheek, and Saya couldn't resist raising her hand to stroke it. She held her hand there, feeling its warmth—soft and gentle, like Tsuna's flame but livelier.

Tsuna's flame felt shy, whereas this one seemed eager to express itself. Saya found herself liking the feel of both flames.

But then, a chill ran down her spine as another flame erupted nearby. When she turned to look, she froze in astonishment.

This flame was also a Sky Flame, yet its hue was darker—almost a fiery orange-red. Instead of emanating warmth or liveliness, it radiated an ominous pull, like a black hole sucking in everything around it. It seemed capable of consuming the moon, the sun, and perhaps even the entire universe.

No, not just capable—it felt inevitable, as if it could devour the cosmos itself.

Feeling overwhelmed with fear, Saya clung tightly to the horse as it nudged her with its head, wrapping her in a protective embrace. It seemed to promise that it wouldn't let her be consumed by the black flame.

"Please don't let go," Saya whispered, her voice trembling. "Please don't leave me alone with it."

Her eyes fluttered open, and she found herself staring at a blonde young man with a charming smile sitting beside her.

"Hey, you're awake," he greeted. Saya blinked in confusion, looking down at her own hand, which he was holding. On his other hand, he wore a ring emitting a Sky Flame.

"Who… are you?" she asked hesitantly.

The young man grinned widely and introduced himself. "I'm Dino. And over there is Romario."

She turned toward the doorway, where an older man in a suit, with a mustache and glasses, stood with a slight wave.

"Hello, Miss Saya. If you need anything, please let me know," Romario said politely.

"And this little guy is Enzio," Dino added, pulling a small turtle out from under his coat. He handed it to Saya, who instinctively held out both hands to catch it. The tiny turtle blinked up at her before nibbling lightly on her finger, making her flinch.

"Hey! Enzio, don't bite Saya-chan!" Dino scolded playfully before placing the turtle back on his shoulder. Saya looked at her hand, seeing a faint mark from the bite. It wasn't deep, but the sensation startled her—she had never been bitten by a turtle before.

"Can I… hold him again?" Saya asked softly.

Dino raised a brow, then nodded and handed Enzio back to her. This time, when the turtle nibbled her finger, it did so gently, as if aware that it had startled her earlier.

"Do you like turtles?" Dino asked, watching as Saya happily stroked Enzio's shell and head.

"I've never had a pet before," Saya admitted. "My mother doesn't like animals. But I've always wanted one."

Dino exchanged a glance with Romario before turning back to Saya with a smile. "Well, how about I bring Enzio to visit you every day? Would you like that?"

Saya's eyes lit up briefly but dimmed just as quickly. "Wouldn't that be a bother for you, Dino-san?"

"Not at all," he replied with a laugh. "Reborn told me to take care of you tonight, especially since Tsuna's completely out of commission. Besides me, the only one with natural Sky Flames left is Tsuna, so I figured I'd stick around to watch over you. That means you can play with Enzio as much as you want!"

Saya blinked as Enzio looked up at her with wide eyes. When she tilted her head to the left, the turtle mimicked her. She tilted to the right, and it followed suit.

Such a simple girl, Dino thought, though her background was far from ordinary.

"How are Sawada-kun, Yamamoto-kun, and Gokudera-kun?" Saya asked.

"They're fine," Dino replied. "Just exhausted. Yamamoto's a little injured, and Gokudera's over at the research lab with Gianini, working on something vehicle-related."

Dino kept his thoughts to himself

Yamamoto's injuries weren't too bad—just a dislocated shoulder and a minor eye injury. But Tsuna… he used his flames to stabilize you so much that even I couldn't believe what I saw. A tiny girl like you, combined with experimental candies and capsules, managed to make an entire neighborhood float. Has Vongola created a monster now?

Saya sighed in relief at Dino's reassurance, but their conversation was interrupted by a light commotion outside, followed by a knock at the door.

"Mind if we come in?" an unfamiliar voice called out. Saya looked toward the door curiously as it swung open to reveal a young man with dual-toned brown and blonde hair, likely highlighted, and light brown eyes. He entered the room with another young man trailing behind him, someone Saya recognized—Rinji-senpai, with his distinctive black hair and piercing blue eyes.

Although she'd only met Rinji once at the soccer field, she remembered him well. He was one of the few people she'd seen with blue eyes like hers.

"The pipsqueak told us to help a girl named Saya. That's you, right?" the dual-haired young man asked casually.

"Who are you?" Romario asked suspiciously.

"Good evening, Senior Rinji. We meet again," Saya greeted with a warm smile. Rinji nodded in acknowledgment and moved to stand nearby, though he kept a considerable distance from her. "Thank you for visiting."

"…That kid sent me here, saying you needed help," Rinji replied bluntly. "He also gave me this ring." With that, he showed her the ring before slipping it onto his finger and clenching his fist. A green flame flickered to life, prompting Dino and Romario to exchange understanding glances.

"…The Lightning attribute, huh," the man muttered, recalling the reports he had received from Reborn. Back then, Saya had died once due to the power of the Lightning flame.

"I don't fully understand what I'm supposed to do, so you'd better explain it to me," Rinji said flatly. Saya paused to gather her thoughts before responding.

"Senior, if… hypothetically speaking, you had to hold my hand all night, would you mind?"

"Eh?!" The two-toned-haired young man let out an incredulous shout, his eyes widening in disbelief. Even Rinji's calm demeanor wavered as his gaze sharpened.

"What do you mean by that?"

"No hidden meanings, I promise. It's exactly what it sounds like," Saya replied with a slight tilt of her head before continuing, "You see, the Lightning flame packs quite a punch."

"The vending machine ate my coins and won't give them back! I've put in at least ten coins already!" Squalo growled, kicking the vending machine in frustration. Nothing came out.

"If the coins are stuck, you need to press the lever near the coin slot," Lussuria said, pressing a small lever beneath the coin slot. The stuck coins rolled out, and Lussuria held them up with a smug smile. "Like this, darling."

"What the hell?!" Squalo's voice rose, veins bulging on his temple as he felt utterly humiliated. "I nearly smashed the thing, and all it needed was that lever? Real fair!"

"Mr. Squalo, Mr. Lussuria," Saya greeted politely as she approached, holding Dino's hand. Behind them, Rinji, Naoka, and Romario followed closely. Naoka, now bearing a ring from Reborn, had ignited it with a bright red flame like Gokudera's.

"Hello there, Saya-chan," Lussuria said cheerfully, his eyes lighting up. "Oh my, you're such a cutie! I'd love to dress you up; you'd look absolutely stunning!"

"You're sounding like a creep," Squalo grumbled. "What are you doing here anyway?"

"I'm taking her out for a walk," Dino explained, lifting their clasped hands slightly to show the bracelet on his wrist glowing faintly with orange light. "Being cooped up in her room all day must be boring, so I asked Shamal for permission, and he agreed."

"I'm here to visit Sawada-kun and Yamamoto-kun," Saya said, bowing slightly. "And I thought I'd greet you both while I'm here. I'm Saya Tomoe."

"Saya... Saya..." Lussuria tapped a finger to his lips thoughtfully. "Ah! 'Beauty of the Night,' isn't it?"

The girl tilted her head, confused, as Lussuria snapped his fingers and exclaimed, "Lella! If we translated 'Saya' into Italian, it would be Lella."

"Lussuria's been getting into Japanese lately," Squalo muttered, shaking his head. "What a waste of time."

"Oh, Squalo-chan, every girl deserves a lovely name!" Lussuria chimed. "I've been thinking about bringing Saya some makeup or maybe some hand-painted ceramic plates next time."

"Thank you, Mr. Lussuria," Saya said with a sweet smile. "I'd love to visit Italy someday. Maybe you could show me around? And if you ever come to Japan, we could go sightseeing together. I haven't traveled anywhere in a while."

"Oh my, that sounds wonderful! Let's plan it sometime!" Lussuria clapped his hands, his excitement palpable. Squalo, on the other hand, sighed heavily, clearly annoyed.

"Tch. We're here for work," Squalo reminded gruffly. "Let's finish up and leave already."

"How cruel!" Lussuria pulled out a soft pink handkerchief and bit it dramatically, tears streaming from his eyes. "Boss Xanxus gave us so much work I barely have time to breathe! I just want a vacation!"

"Ugh, shut up already!" Squalo shouted, his voice booming.

"Keep your voice down; this is a hospital," Dino scolded. Rinji and Naoka instinctively covered their ears, while Dino had already placed earplugs in Saya's ears, anticipating Squalo's outburst.

"True, true," Saya agreed, but before she could continue, someone approached silently from her other side.

A tall man in a crisp white suit, with sharp features and a mischievous glint in his eyes, stepped closer. His hands were in his pockets, and his gaze lingered on Saya's face as he leaned slightly toward her.

Caught off guard, Saya instinctively stepped back. The man smirked. "What a charming mademoiselle. Those big, blue, candy-like eyes and soft, rosy lips... utterly tempting. How I'd love to steal a taste."

"Don't sneak up on her like that, Shamal," Dino said, pulling Saya closer and protectively draping an arm around her shoulders.

"How can I resist when faced with such a sweet little mademoiselle?" Shamal teased, chuckling. "Even now, the daughter of Tomoe is this adorable. Imagine how stunning she'll be as she grows older."

He glanced briefly at Rinji and Naoka before focusing back on Saya. "No wonder Gokudera's going to such lengths to protect her."

"This girl is under the protection of the Vongola Family," Dino stated firmly. "That means the Cavallone, the Varia, and all allied families are responsible for her safety until her treatment is complete. Her presence is crucial to the stability of all families."

"Tch. How annoying," Squalo muttered, glaring at Saya. "One little girl causing this much trouble."

Saya met his glare calmly and spoke with poise. "I'm sorry for being such a burden, but Gokudera-kun and everyone else are doing their best to treat me. Hopefully, I'll recover soon. Until then, I must rely on your patience, Mr. Squalo."

She bowed deeply, leaving Squalo momentarily speechless before he turned away with a grunt, stomping off with Lussuria trailing after him, calling his name.

"That's just how he is," Dino said with a shrug. "Don't take it personally. Deep down, Squalo's not a bad guy."

Saya nodded thoughtfully, choosing not to pass judgment. "I'd like to visit Sawada-kun and Yamamoto-kun now."

In the hospital room, Tsuna lay on one bed, looking pale and slightly bruised, while Yamamoto occupied the other. His right eye was swollen shut, surrounded by a nasty purple bruise. The sight was unsettling, but neither appeared to be in critical condition.

"Alright," Reborn began, speaking to Hibari as the other guardians gradually arrived, one by one. "Since Saya has taken the capsule and requires special attention in controlling her flames, I've called everyone here to assign responsibilities and organize shifts for her care. We'll divide the responsibilities by flame types, as outlined in this list."

"The red flame of Storm will be handled by Gokudera and Naoka, with Fon providing backup. The blue flame of Rain will be Yamamoto and Squalo's responsibility. The green flame of Lightning will fall to Lambo and Rinji. The yellow flame of Sun will be overseen by Ryohei and Lussuria. As for the indigo Mist flame, that's up to Chrome and Mukuro..."

"What?!" Yamamoto and Gokudera exclaimed in unison, their voices loud with disbelief. Reborn paused briefly before addressing them.

"Apologies, but Mammon and Levi were sent on a classified mission by Xanxus last week, and they haven't reported back yet."

Although both were clearly dissatisfied, there was nothing they could do about it. Reborn continued, "The purple Cloud flame... Hibari."

"Just me?" Saya asked.

"I've been trying to reach Skull since he's the Cloud Arcobaleno, but if he doesn't show up, I've already contacted someone else as backup. That said, this person also dislikes group settings, so they're only participating by phone for now." Reborn held up his phone, showing that the call was ongoing. On the screen, the name "Cloud Flame - Jinnai" was displayed, drawing a slight raise of Saya's brow—though it was fleeting.

"So, finally, the orange Sky flame will be Tsuna and Dino. That's the arrangement."

Saya glanced at the name on the phone screen, her curiosity momentarily piqued, but she quickly composed herself.

"Understood," came the collective response from the group. Some nodded, others voiced their agreement, while a few remained stoic.

"We'll alternate shifts between day and night; you can work out the details amongst yourselves. Keep your communication devices ready 24/7 in case of emergencies," Reborn said seriously. "As soon as the flames manifest, it could signal either a natural or supernatural event. If we fail to act in time, not only Saya but innocent people could be in danger. At the very least, we'll hold our ground here until either Zhangni's research center is repaired or Saya fully recovers."

"I appreciate everyone's help," Saya said gratefully. Reborn then turned to her, his expression unusually stern, as though he were contemplating something.

"One more thing, Saya. I need to ask you something," he said.

"What's that?" she replied, puzzled by his serious tone.

"Do you know... the 'Nocturna Family'?"
