Chapter 65: Emergency Care for Trauma 5
Compliment after compliment, they were just short of directly bursting out with the term “school beauty.”
But as Zhu Hui Cang listened to their endless praise that nearly exalted Zhang Xiaohui to the heavens, she appeared utterly bewildered, as if she was hearing Martian, not Earthly speech.
It’s true that the school’s art troupe and radio station are not easy to get into. Zhu Hui Cang knew that, but the problem is that this is a medical college, not an institution for arts and entertainment.
No hospital would want to recruit a medical student who can only sing, right?
Clearly, these few individuals in front of her had no idea what they were studying. Zhu Hui Cang shook her head. This is why, sometimes, female students aren’t very popular with the teachers during clinical practice.
Do they think being beautiful qualifies them to be a doctor?
Do they think dancing and singing to please the hospital leadership will get them a job in a hospital?
This isn’t some third-rate hospital, this is Guoxie, the top comprehensive national hospital.
He was not denying opportunities to female medical students; he had already asked them what their speciality was, yet the answers he received were completely beside the point, leaving him feeling helpless. Thinking it over, he realized he was indeed a good person for having inquired; his two other companions had already treated the female students like air, not bothering to interact at all.
Zhu Hui Cang then sent a glance to Ren Chongda: Aren’t you at the school every day? Don’t you know who these people are?
Ren Chongda’s reply: “I might be the Anatomy Room Chief, but that doesn’t mean I care about who sings or dances or broadcasts. I’m busy dealing with corpses every day. If you ask me about any corpse, I can tell you, but singing and dancing? I have no clue.”
The answer from his old classmate was not wrong, Zhu Hui Cang touched his nose, then turned to look at Handsome Cao, who was truly remarkable, like an immortal above the clouds, swift to finish a bowl of rice in no time.
Zhang Xiaohui and the other two girls had been waiting for what seemed like ages only to see that The Three Musketeers had no interest in girls or dancing or broadcasting, so they could only continue to feel awkward. Now, to turn and give up did not sit well with them.
Riiing, riiing, riiing.
“Your phone is ringing,” Cao Yong put down his chopsticks and, after seeing the call wasn’t for his phone, said to Ren Chongda.
At the reminder, Ren Chongda fished out his mobile phone from his pocket and answered.
“Teacher Ren.” Yue Wentong’s voice came through from the other end.
“What’s the matter? Did you distribute the military training uniforms to the students? Did you tell them when the training starts?” As the counselor, Ren Chongda’s first concern was whether his class leader had executed the orders he had given.
Yue Wentong answered, “I asked a few students to help distribute the military training uniforms.”
“Then, what did you want to talk to me about?” Ren Chongda asked.
Getting to the point, Yue Wentong replied, “Teacher Ren, there’s been a car accident over here. There’s an elderly gentleman with a severe leg bleed. I don’t know how to handle it and wanted to ask for your advice.”
A car accident!
Ren Chongda was so alarmed he nearly jumped out of his skin. “You’re saying you got into a car accident?!”
“No, not me, Teacher Ren, it’s an old man,” Yue Wentong hastily clarified.
“Where did you say you are?” Feeling the urgency made it hard to hear clearly over the phone, Ren Chongda’s voice thread with agitation.
Both Cao Yong and Zhu Hui Cang had already put down their bowls and chopsticks in unison.
“Right behind the hospital—”
“At the hospital back entrance.” After sharing this, Ren Chongda and his two old classmates ran for the door together.
Zhang Xiaohui and her two friends who had remained standing there, didn’t react in time and were almost knocked over by The Three Musketeers rushing past.
As doctors, the first thought in their heads was to get to the scene and save lives, to rescue.
The three men charged forward.
Having finished his call with the counselor, Yue Wentong soon saw the figures dashing towards him, utterly surprised by how quickly the counselor had arrived, which made him pause before calling out, “Teacher Ren—”
