Fake Professor, Misunderstood As Strong

Chapter 241: Battle of Attrition... Part-1.

"Magnificent!!! AHAHHAHAHAH!!!"

As if completely unfazed by Zion's insane capabilities, Luche waved her wand and cast her own magic to counter.

[Grade-1 Wood Magic: Dream of the World Tree!]

Massive roots emerged from the gigantic magic circle and surrounded Luche, forming a massive armor similar to Zion's.

The destructive capabilities of Zion and Luche are way beyond the league of ordinary grade-1 mages.

Just the presence of their powerful magic is enough to cause mass destruction; both of them are walking weapons of mass destruction with no one to stop them.

Zion used the sword made out of condensed light elementals and slashed the roots that came to attack him.

Each of his attacks was as fast as the speed of light due to his light magic, but Luche wasn't too far behind either; the regeneration ability of the roots created by her wood magic is simply too insane.

Even if you keep cutting them at the speed of light, they can still keep regenerating over and over!

*BOOOM!* *BOOOM!*

Zion and Luche attacked each other thousands of times in a matter of mere nanoseconds, and each of their attacks created powerful shockwaves that spread far and wide!

The collision of their attacks cracked the ground and created powerful earthquakes.

From the perspective of the ordinary civilians of the elven empire, that scene seemed like a calamity that could easily destroy their homeland at any moment!

People fell to their knees, and children started to cry; it was as if the world was falling apart in front of them.

The extremely powerful air pressure tore apart the clouds in the sky, causing the barrier protecting the city to suffer massive cracks and permanent damage.

Sylvie and the other mages came out of the forbidden area to evacuate the people as ordered by the elven queen, but when they saw this scene, all of them could only stand in shock and do nothing.

If they tried to evacuate people right now, they would get caught up in the battle between these two insanely powerful monsters, and if they don't evacuate, the monsters and demons will catch up to them from behind.

The situation in the Elven capital has now become completely hopeless.

Neither can they stay put in one place, nor can they rush away from here.

Staying here and running away will both lead to the same outcomes, which are death and mass destruction.

Even Sylvie, who had always been a calm and collected knight, couldn't help but feel helpless in this situation.

If it was just fighting monsters and helping her people buy some time, she could still do it, but when insane beings like Zion and Luche are fighting each other, she has no way to stop this situation.

She isn't even qualified to buy time against these powerful monstrosities. Zion and Luche both can kill her in a matter of nanoseconds with a single spell before she could even react.

They both are way beyond the league of mere mortals.

Meanwhile, In the forbidden Area.

Central Training Ground.

*KKRRRRRRRRRRAAAAA!!!*

*I WIIIIIILLLLLL KIILLLLLL YOOOOOUUUUU!!!!* *CUUUURSEEEE YOOOOOUUU!!!*

Fisur has been experimenting on various creatures and organisms his entire life, and his main goal for all of that was to create an elixir made out of all the DNA traits he collected from various organisms.

He wanted to have all the powerful genetic traits that he found in his research and put them all in one individual to make a powerful chimera that would have such insane capabilities that no mortal could stop it anymore.

In the game's timeline, Fisur has reached a near-perfect level of result by the time he got slayed by the protagonist.

At that time, he had injected himself with the DNA-mutating elixir just like now, and then he caused a lot of trouble for the hero's party, and it took a lot of effort to defeat him.

That one was a desperate measure where he put too much elixir inside himself.

The only most successful test subject and only chimera that retained its sentience until the end was the one he created using Mark's younger sister; that one was his most successful experiment.

Due to its success, his research became more advanced, increasing his power when he used it against the protagonist in the end.

But the situation right now is completely different.

Not only did Fisur never get his hands on Mark's little sister, but he was never able to advance his research to the levels that he did in the game's story.

In other words, the current DNA-mutating elixir is extremely unstable and less effective than it should have been in the original timeline.

Jareth wasn't going to just sit around and let the other party do as he wanted.

He immediately fired thousands of massive mana beams at Fisur, but the other party got protected by thick layers of miasma, thus he succeeded in injecting the elixir inside his rotting and mutating body.

The mutation elixir came in touch with miasma the very moment it entered his body.

Miasma itself is a partially conscious entity; the moment it noticed the presence of the elixir, it happily accepted it and increased its effectiveness with its own power!

*BOOOOM!!*

An extremely powerful shockwave spread in all directions, and all the demons and monsters in the vicinity were reduced to bits in an instant!

Fisur's body went through such powerful mutations that even the space-time fabric trembled from the sheer density of miasma in his body.

His skin apart and regenerated, his internal organs spilled out all over the ground and then crawled back inside him.

His brain grew eyes and ears all over it and looked extremely disgusting to watch, and then they all started bleeding dark red blood.

It was disgusting, unnerving, and horrific to watch; it was the peak of insanity.

Jareth kept trying to bombard Fisur with powerful mana beams all along, but the miasma spilling out of the miasmic rift kept protecting him as if it was doing it consciously!

'I can't let him keep going… At this rate, he will mutate to a level that it will cause too many problems…'

In the game, Fisur mutated because of the elixir, but right now he's mutating with elixir and miasma combined!

His mutation is going to be even more wild and insane in this situation; Jareth can't let this happen, or Fisur will cause a lot of delay in his plans and will prove to be a big obstacle in his path.

Jareth waved his finger, and the grimoire of amplification shined; a massive magic circle formed in the air.

Jareth didn't stop at that either; he used his mana singularity to the extreme and used immense amounts of mana to create more auxiliary support circuits in the magic circle.

He stacked more layers on the spell, and three more smaller magic circles appeared behind the first gigantic magic circle, all supporting and expanding its structure.

'I don't follow the rules of novels and anime where they let you transform and don't interfere! Just die already!!'

[Grade-2 Fire Magic: True Flames of Dragon's Breath!]

*ROOOOARRRR!*

A gigantic dragon's mouth made up of condensed flame elementals appeared from the magic circle, and its roar spread in all directions, making all monsters and demons in the vicinity tremble in fear.

The gigantic flame dragon rushed at Fisur's mutating body.

All the miasma that was trying to defend Fisur again and again was instantly burned away by the power of the 'true flames' and reduced to nothingness.

The dragon's mouth immediately swallowed Fisur's mutating body in its giant maw; the true flames burned with great intensity and spread in all directions to thoroughly clean the area off all the miasma.

Jareth's true flames are enhanced with the power of the 'law' of 'Flames'; thus, they are a perfect counter to miasma, and Jareth can still keep this miasmic rift at bay for now if he keeps burning it all continuously.

But this isn't the permanent solution.

'Creating barriers or anything else won't do it either; unless it's a barrier at the level of the 'False Dome Seal,' nothing can stop this spatial rift from spreading miasma…'

Although Jareth was aiming to kill Fisur in that single attack, it didn't go that way.

The True Flames attached to Fisur's body kept burning him continuously, but he refused to die; his body started regenerating at an insanely high speed that even the True Flames couldn't burn in an instant.

'Hydra's blood…'

Jareth instantly saw through the reason for Fisur's newfound capability.

The genetic mutation elixir Fisur injected in himself had a very small amount of hydra's DNA, but it was not very powerful in its original state. The reason why it has become so strong now is because of miasma.

'I was expecting him to manifest some other DNA trait… sigh, this one's the most annoying…'

It seems that the partially conscious miasma was really hell-bent on saving Fisur's life; thus, it immediately reacted and chose to manifest the hydra's regeneration trait in Fisur's body when he got hit by true flames.
