Fake Husband of the Glamorous CEO

Chapter 2: 002: You don't live here, do you?

Gu Feng looked at Lin Yue in front of him and thought of his own mother who was also anxious about his marriage, so he went with the flow to confirm, "I'll just act as your husband, but we don't need to be responsible for each other's marriage, right?"

Lin Yue nodded, "It's enough for my family and social circle to know I married a soldier from Beijing, aside from the initial meetings with elders or attending banquets on behalf of the Lin family which you must attend, for most of the time, we can have no interaction. You live your life in Beijing, and I'll live mine in Magic Capital."

Gu Feng felt that suited him perfectly.

Anyway, he had no intention of finding a woman to marry, and since here was a mutually beneficial wife to stop his family from pressuring him.

Why not?

"Okay," he felt it was interesting, "I have no problem."

Lin Yue was cautious, "Can I take a look at your military ID? Your background can be embellished, but you must have genuinely served in the military!"

Gu Feng didn't have his residence booklet with him, but he did have his old military ID, which he kept as a souvenir and carried with him. He quickly took it out from the pocket of his jacket and handed it to Lin Yue.

"Eastern Theater Special Forces, Gu Feng?" Lin Yue read out, looking at Gu Feng with some hesitation, "This is the ID from your service time, right?"

Gu Feng nodded.

Lin Yue said, "Then when friends ask about you, how should I describe your military branch?"

Gu Feng replied, "If you think the occasion requires it, you can say I was in the Special Forces."

Lin Yue chuckled lightly, "Sometimes I need to boost your valor a bit, but I dare not tell them you were in the Special Forces."

Gu Feng curiously asked, "Why not?"

Lin Yue said somewhat embarrassedly, "Don't think we know everything. In their eyes, Special Forces are like those very capable combatants in movies. If they see you like this, won't it be a laughing matter?"

Gu Feng laughed, "Do you think the Special Forces are exaggerated in the movies?"

Lin Yue nodded.

Gu Feng responded "Really, there are different levels within Special Forces too. In our country, there indeed are some who are more formidable than in 'War Wolf', but the typical ones are certainly not as formidable as 'War Wolf' shows."

"Then you must be one of the typical ones," Lin Yue teased, "Otherwise, why would you have been discharged and taken up this job?"

Gu Feng gave a sheepish smile and didn't argue the point.

Lin Yue hesitated, "So, shall we go get the license? I have brought my residence booklet. Can you go home to get yours?"

Gu Feng nodded, stood up, and approached the front desk, only to discover Lin Yue had already bought the ticket when she entered.

"How did you come here?" Lin Yue asked him.

Gu Feng replied, "By taxi."

Lin Yue offered, "Then, ride in my car. I'll drive you there."

Gu Feng pondered for a moment, watching his comrades still not having arrived, and simply got into Lin Yue's Aston Martin sportscar.

A car meant to pick up Gu Feng, driven by his comrade form the military area, passed close by Lin Yue's car.

Meanwhile, the manager of the western restaurant noticed that the vase he was entrusted to arrange had been moved by a cleaning staff member, he frowned and went to put the vase back on the table where the crew-cut customer was still waiting.

....

"Where are you?" Gu Feng received a questioning call from his comrade while sitting in the passenger seat next to Lin Yue.

Because the caller had arrived at the western restaurant and hadn't seen him.

He turned his head to look at Lin Yue, who was driving.

From this angle, he could clearly see Lin Yue's bare white legs, crossed under her skirt, long and slender.

"You're late, someone else stepped in first," Gu Feng said with a light laugh.

Li Yan exclaimed, "Damn, who could be faster than me?"

Gu Feng replied, "You don't know him. We just left there."

Li Yan said, "Alright, I'll come to your house."

After hanging up the call.

Lin Yue, while driving, asked curiously, "Do you have something else to do?"

"No," Gu Feng answered, "It was supposed to be my friend picking me up, he just didn't expect I'd be riding back with you."

Lin Yue drove her Martin sportscar to the residential compound of the Beijing Second Ring based on Gu Feng's directions.

"Don't tell me you live inside there?"

Gu Feng didn't immediately grasp what the family district represented to ordinary people and the capital circle.

He hastily said, "No, I live nearby; it's just more convenient for the navigation here."

"I thought so. This is one of the most powerful cores in Beijing. If you lived here, would you be needing my few million?" Lin Yue looked startled, "We'll meet at the civil affairs office in a bit then."

Gu Feng nodded, "Alright."

He got out of the car and closed the door, leaving with a polite remark, "Drive safely."

Lin Yue was busy watching the road ahead and didn't notice a military vehicle that parked next to Gu Feng.

Li Yan leaned out from the driver's seat, "Why aren't you going in? Afraid people inside will eat you up?"

Gu Feng gave a bitter smile.

After glancing back at Lin Yue who had disappeared in the distance at the traffic light, he got into Li Yan's car.

He noticed another soldier in the back seat, probably Li Yan's aide.

The car slowly drove into the compound.

"After so many years away, our country has undergone such big changes," Gu Feng remarked from the passenger seat.

"You haven't seen Shanghai, Guang or Shenzhen; the changes there are even greater," Li Yan asked concernedly, "How's your condition?"

Gu Feng glanced at Li Yan's car, deflecting, "Not bad, kid, you've got yourself a car?"

Li Yan insisted, "Don't change the subject, have you recovered?"

"How could I have recovered," Gu Feng shot him a look, "I have post-war complex syndrome. These years were no vacation. It's a wonder my condition hasn't worsened!"
