Fairy Tail: Wandering Beast

Salem Pov

I was just finishing up my breakfast with Laxus Dreyar, one of the main cast members of the fairy tail series, sitting next to me just drinking coffee. I know this is the year the first part of the series happens but I don't know what months they take place in but since two wizard saints (Jose and Jellal) have been fired guess the battle of fairy tail also already happened. 

I felt really excited to meet him but I mastered the art of minding my own business in Zambia though I noticed that Laxus was glancing at me from time to time which got me to raise an eyebrow.

"Do you need something, my guy?" I asked him.

"No, it's just you remind me of someone that's all." He answered with a distant look on his face and he then turned to me. "Hey kid out of curiosity, what's your name?" He asked.

"Salem Shupiwe" I answered as I really saw no harm in answering as it was just a simple question. "Nice to meet you Mr. Laxus." 

"So, you know who I am huh."

"Dude your guild is pretty famous or infamous to better put it am pretty sure a LOT of people would recognize you."

"Hm good point and by the way I know this might be out of the blue but do you have any relations to Mirajane Strauss?" 

"I've read her profile on Sorcerers Weekly and I know I have hair and magic similar to hers but no I 'm not related in any way." I answered and am sure if I meet up with someone who knows they might ask too. "But I'm surprised to see a fairy tail mage here. I heard a rumour that one of your mages destroyed a historical castle. I would think that you guys would stay away from this place till the heat died down." 

"Fucking Natsu." I heard him mumble. "Yes, an idiot fire mage destroyed a historical castle in this town during one of his missions so leading the towns people to get really pissed leading fairy tail mages in general not get missions from Lupinus but as for while am here well that's complicated kid." He grumbled.

"Well, it's cool if you don't want to talk about." Damn I can't believe I'm having a casual conversation with one of the main cast members. I looked up the clock and it was 2 hours till I could meet with Morrigan back at the hotel. "Well, Mr. Laxus it was nice meeting a celebrity but I got to go."

"Nice meeting you too Salem and Laxus is just fine."

I paid for the meal and left the dinner and I was just walking around town. Lupinus town had a lot of castles but most of them were tourist traps and only very few had people living in them. So I really don't have much to do.

"Maybe I should train a little. The threat level of the anomalies in this country is really but um not surprised it's fucking Fiore." I sighed and transformed into my full owl form and went into the woods for a little training.

I reached the forest clearing and transformed back to my normal state. I looked at a tree beside and sensed if there was any animal living in it which there wasn't then gave it a slight chop thus chopping it in half.

"Beast soul: Werecheetah!" 

After I transformed and swung my leg creating a powerful gust of wind and a lot of it looked like they were going to be blown off. I took out my claws and made a long-range slash making a large mark on the heel side. I kicked downward seven times as often as I could trying to imitate the skywalk but had no success.

After that I swung my arm in a cross direction making a wind blade of sorts cutting down multiple trees and large boulders. I then began running around at a high-speeds enjoying the wind in my face then jumped off a cliff transforming into my owl-harpy form and flew high into the sky. I flew downwards to the forest and flapped my wings making a strong gust of wind.

I wanted to make a mini tornado similar to a flying type move in Pokémon but I had little success in doing it. I transformed into my demi-rabbit form falling from the sky. I slammed leg into the ground destroying a good chunk of it than crouched down and tensed my legs jumping high into the sky making a sonic boom. After getting down I just began hopping around and I was about to crash into a boulder but I broke it with my strong legs.

I then transformed into my demi-ant form and punched the ground making a huge crack than picked up a good chunk of the ground throwing it into the sky. I then transformed into full Zinogre form then channelled lightning from my hair and gathered it near my mouth.

"Howling Thunder!" I shot a beam of lightning completely destroying the chuck of ground I threw.

Next, I morphed into my hybrid Rathalos form and shot about seventy fire balls into the sky. They were all under my complete control as they just floated in the sky.

"Now that I think about it, I only used this move against Morrigan two years ago." I said to myself that the fireballs clash against each other, making a huge fiery explosion and spelling my name in the aftermath.

I transformed back to normal and looked up by the cliff I jumped off early and even though it was really far away I saw Laxus watching me. Am sure I released a huge flare of magic and must have come here to investigate. He then disappeared in a flash of lightning then suddenly appeared beside me.

"You sure you're not related to that demon." He asked, looking at all the damage I caused.

"If you're still talking about Mirajane, I'm pretty sure I'm not man." I answered while stretching a little. 

"Even so, your magic is really similar to her younger siblings." He mumbled. "Speaking of which are the interesting forms you got there, especially those last two?"

"You can call them sub-species of Wyvern from. other kingdoms though i'm aware the fire one looks more dragon than wyvern to most."

"'Whistle' Damn you're pretty strong for someone your age. When I sensed the huge flare of magic I thought there was a dark mage around or a strong creature. If we had met about a month prior I would have forced you to join fairy tail."

"Why aren't you asking me now."

"Like I said, complicated reasons led me to take a vacation." He lied.

"Oh, sorry bad break up with Mirajane and your now going on a soul searching journey huh."

"What." He looked at me as if I was crazy. "What made you come to that conclusion!"

"I don't know man you keep on bringing her up so I thought you know."

"Kid, you're getting the wrong idea."

"Hey my guy I get it she is pretty sexy I mean I would be pretty down bad and, in the slumps, too if I lost a girl like that." I then dodged an incoming lightning bolt. "Ayo what the fuck man!"

"Watch it kid. I might have mellowed out a bit but I won't hesitate to beat your ass." He smirked threateningly with lightning dancing on his fingertips.

"Woah man take it easy jeez! You just shot lightning at a civilian I could press charges!" I put my hands up quickly in surrender as I knew Laxus was a high-level S-class mage and could kick my ass without breaking a sweat and good thing this is him post Natsu literally beating some sense into him Laxus.

"Nothing about you spells civilian. Tch kids these days. Dammit now I am starting to sound like the old man." He cursed to himself. "Well since there is nothing particularly interesting going on here I'll be on my way." He turned to leave.

Suddenly I was lifted up by the shirt and turned facing the bemused look of my Mentor and she got her hair in a ponytailed afro.

"Oh Morrigan, has it been five hours already?" I asked, looking at an unexciting watch on my wrist.

"I said meet me back at the hotel in 4 hours." She said annoyed.

"Really I could have sworn you said five."

"No Junior,I said four. If you didn't put the headphones on at such a high volume you would have heard me better!" She then shocks me up and down causing me to get dizzy a bit.

"What's wrong handsome, never seen a beautiful woman before~?" Before I could question her little statement I saw that Laxus was still here and had his eyes narrowed at Morrigan. "Well blondie, are you that stunned by me~." She left on the ground at least.

"Who are you?" He asked seriously. 

"Oh, like Junior here already said my name's Morrigan, nice to meet you grandson of Makarov~." She winked at him and he didn't react.

"Guess I really am that famous."

"Of course, I do. Your little rowdy guild is pretty infamous around this country and information about you guys isn't underground but I really don't know most of you." Morrigan rolled her eyes a little.

"Are you Salem's mother by any chance?" When he asked that question, I saw Morrigan's right eye twitch a little and I laughed.

"Quite you." She slapped my head and I gave her the finger in retaliation. "You got jokes huh but I get it you are looking for a cougar to have a good time. Some guys I know do prefer older women~."

"How the hell did you come to that conclusion!" Laxus yelled a little frustrated.

"What are you a virgin?"

"No." Laxus gritted his teeth a bit.

"Hai~ Hai~. Let's go junior, it looks like that break up you spoke about was that bad." The two of us took our separate wings and flew away from annoyed Laxus.

"Later Laxus good luck with your soul searching!" 

Sometime Later in the hotel

"Alright Morrigan what is it?" I asked the woman on the dressing room table putting on some red lipstick.

"Well, it's actually pretty serious Junior, it's about the um Quetzalcoatl as you called it '' She then looked at me seriously. "Do you remember its tomb?"

"Yeah, what about it?"

"Well after I left, I went to go um investigate the place." I rolled my eyes at that. "But I found that you weren't the only one hunting that thing down."

"Huh?"

"It seemed that members of Ouroboros Trap were interested in it. As you know that thing gained an infamous reputation of increasing killings around the blood feather forest and with its insane magic people called it the god of the forest. It seems the number one dark guild in Pergranda also set its sights on it and good thing we got to it first. 

But back to the tomb when I reached it, I found that the members of Ouroboros Trap couldn't even find the place though it being impossible to miss and every time they were so close, they would go in a circle. When I made it to the temple don't ask how I found that it was protected by a barrier of sorts."

"Wait for real."

"Yep, but not just any barrier this one felt divine."

"Wait, how can you sense divine energy?"

"Not important right now but all I want to tell you is that Salem, these creature's you're hunting down are making an impact on the world more than you release. I would say hurry up and catch them all before the wrong people do, especially that woman." She mumbled the last part quietly and darkly.

"You're going to tell me who this woman is." I wasn't going to pretend that I didn't hear that.

"I'll tell you in due time Junior."

"Morrigan um not an idiot I know there's something off about you in general that you're hiding from me but I'll leave it be."

"HA! Just like that I could be an evil witch who is it just messing with your head, you know?" She laughed a little.

"You got jokes huh and I know it's a dumbass move on my part but we've been riding together for two years now and you helped me a bunch when it came to my magic plus you saved me a bunch of times, I would probably be having a really tough time." I made cat ears and tails appear and gave her a little thumbs up.

"That's so cliché junior but you shouldn't put blind trust into someone that you never know when they might stab you in the back~." She then transformed her arm making it into a blade and making stabbing jesters.

"Yeah, whatever crazy old lady but can you at least when something major concerns the creatures brewing up."

"Don't worry, that's the least I can do for my cute pupil." In speeds much faster than lightning she extended her arm and I was buried in her chest. 

An hour later

"Yep, oh before I go, I wanted to ask you why do you go to salons for your hair, can't you just control it to which style you want it to be?" I was a little curious about it.

"I might be amazing with my magic kid but when comes to certain aspects I like leaving it to professionals." She then requiped her car causing multiple people on the road to look at it in awe. 

"Makes sense well Morrigan I'll see ya in a couple of weeks." I waved as she smiled and drove off. 

I was just walking by the streets looking at my phone and siting the anomalies I had to exorcise. The now seven anomalies for now in Fiore went as follows: 

The Ankylosaurus from Ark Survival with a low A-rank threat level

The Fireclaw from Horizon zero dawn with a Mid A-rank threat level. 

The Frostclaw from Horizon zero dawn with a Mid A-rank threat level.

The Nagas from solo levelling with a high A-rank threat level.

The Behemoth from final fantasy with low S-rank threat level.

The Teostra from monster hunter with a high S-class rank.

The Cerberus from the devil may cry with a mid SS-rank threat level.

"Give a n***a a break man come!" I yelled in frustration of the slight attention I drew.

I was basically in the mid to high A-rank level if I went by the phone's ranking system. I can see why most mages never make it past B or A class levels of power breaking through to the next stage of power was really hard. Even after a good amount of time training and going on intense battles there will be a chance that a mage still won't be an S-class mage.

'Tch, I need to expand my arsenal a bit with a water specialised creature since two to three of these look like fire monsters.' Now I believed my Artic-wolf was incredibly powerful and all but I needed a more water specialised form just in case plus there's no Morrigan to save my ass.

"Too bad the water-based anomalies aren't here but the good thing is that I am in a magical world so I can stock up a little for magical beasts." I thought and I began looking for a library to help with that.

Even though Lupinus was not a place, not a mage focused town, surely it must have a library containing some information concerning the magic world. After looking and asking around I found the local town library. Once I entered I asked the librarian, who was a man in his thirties, about books on water based magical creatures and after he gave me the directions to the section, I thanked him and began my research.

I found a little more than I thought though. For instance, Earthland has its own little legend Alantas legend and somewhere in the ocean, sirens are a thing too and only a few had survived their attack, Naiads are said to be only sighted by very few people due to their distrust towards humanity and most have timid nature.

I continued skimming and scanning till I found something interesting. Apparently there are hydras here too but they are located in the waters of Enca, the next is an interesting creature located here in Fiore called the sea serpent there were more but the sea serpent is a little more common plus this book was too damn big plus interesting were far in the ocean. 

I went to the librarian.

"Excuse me sir."

"Oh yes young man."

"Do you happen to know the locations where water serpents frequent and do you short books going into more detail about them."

"Sea serpents, that's an interesting topic to focus on. Well recently news they've become more of a problem in Cedar town."

"Huh, interesting , so the book about them if it's on sale."

"Oh right." The man held up his hand and a book telekinetically flew in his hands. "Yes, I can sell it to you."

"Sweet."

Later

I was boarding a train to the Cedar which was at the western part of Fiore but I'll first take a stop motor city due to the fact that it is close to the mountain range the Ankylosaurus was located in. As the train began to move, I just read the book containing the Sea Serpents going through useful bits of information which would help me when fighting it and when I take-over one.

"Excuse us but are these spots taken?" A stern female voice asked.

"No, go ahead and take a seat." I answered without looking and I heard the footsteps of two people walking towards the empty seat opposite to me.

"A book about sea serpents. Why are you reading about that? Are you also going on a mission to Cedar town too?" Another female voice asked but this one sounded more chipper than the last one

The first one was about 16 with long purple in a princess style, hazel eyes, slim and large-busted. She wore a white battle dress with red trimmings, white gloves, a white headband on her head in the shape of a rabbit and a sword sheathed to her hip. 

The second girl also seemed about 16 years old and had cat eyes, nose and mouth, brown hair, and four red whisker-like tattoos and curvaceous figure. She wore a yellow jacket with white stripes and black trimmings, a pink dress with a white tie on it, a choker with a bell on it, and white leggings.

'Damn three in one day.'
