Chapter 113: Chapter 113 - Blade on Wheels
Date: April X788 — Same Morning
Location: Outer Valley Approach
Teresa stopped at the edge of the broken ridge. Her new bike, The Edge, hummed quietly under her, its silver body shining in the morning light. She looked down into the valley below. The path twisted and turned, littered with broken glyph shards and dangerous magic traps left behind by the ones who corrupted the Chimera Forge.
She felt a faint vibration deep underground. Chimera signatures were moving down there, grouped around something powerful — the true core of the forge.
She leaned forward, resting one hand on the bike's control panel. She tapped once. The bike's rune lines glowed and matched her energy perfectly. The tires gripped the jagged ridge like smooth ground.
Upper Ridge — Romeo and Kinana's Viewpoint
Romeo peeked out from behind a broken post, eyes wide. He watched Teresa scan the valley, each small move calm and precise.
"She's going down there alone," he whispered.
Kinana stood next to him, her eyes serious but full of respect.
"She isn't alone," she corrected softly. "That bike isn't just a vehicle. It moves because she wants it to, just like her sword."
Romeo swallowed hard, holding his wooden practice sword tightly.
"It's like watching her fight. It's not loud, it's not wild. It just... ends quickly."
Kinana nodded.
"That's why they call her the Silent Blade. Even her strongest attacks are quiet."
Valley Descent — Teresa in Motion
She tapped the bike again. The Edge jumped forward, humming low as it glided down the ridge like a silver ghost. Glyph shards shattered behind her, and mana traps popped and fizzled as the tires cut through them.
A fire trap exploded to her right. Teresa leaned left sharply, her body moving smoothly into the curve. The bike adjusted instantly, keeping balance even as the rocks crumbled under it.
A chimera jumped out from a side crack, claws ready to hit her.
Teresa didn't slow.
As it attacked, she stood up, bent her legs, and jumped off. The bike sped forward alone and then disappeared into her Requip space with a quick shimmer.
She landed behind the chimera lightly, sword already out. She turned once and swung. The creature fell apart before it even finished turning around.
She looked down at the valley floor and felt the energy below. Four more corrupted creatures stood guarding the forge gate.
She breathed out and slowly extended her hand behind her.
The Edge shimmered back into view and rolled right to her side, stopping neatly.
From above, Romeo gasped.
"She called it... like she calls her sword," he said.
Kinana's eyes lit up.
"Yes. It isn't just a mount. It's another weapon."
Valley Forge Gate
The forge entrance stood ahead — a giant archway made of twisted vault stone and bone-like pieces. Chimera guards shuffled around it, moving in an odd, broken way. Their eyes glowed weakly.
Teresa leaned forward again, fingers moving over the bike's panel like she was adjusting a sword grip. The Edge hummed deeper, energy wrapping around her.
She moved.
A chimera attacked her left side. Teresa tilted, her boot skimming the ground as she turned sharply. The chimera hit too late, and The Edge smashed its head, cracking it completely.
Two more creatures attacked together. Teresa pressed her palm on the bike's panel. The motorcycle suddenly shifted sideways in a fast slide. She slipped right between them. Her sword swung once — both heads fell behind her.
The last chimera dropped from above, claws swinging down. Teresa jumped back in one quick motion, landing in a low crouch. The bike rolled forward alone and vanished into her Requip space just before it hit a bone pillar.
The chimera landed where she had been, confused. Teresa lunged forward and thrust her sword into its chest. It died instantly.
Valley Ridge — Watching
Romeo held onto the post so tight his fingers turned white. He could barely breathe as he watched.
"She... she rides, fights, and calls the bike back without even thinking," he whispered.
Kinana nodded, her voice calm but firm.
"No wasted moves. No panic. She isn't just reacting — she decides every single step."
Romeo's fingers twitched slightly on his wooden sword, as if trying to match her movement.
Valley Forge Gate — Aftermath
Teresa stood in front of the forge entrance. Dust and broken pieces covered the ground around her. Her sword shone in the new light.
She stepped forward and touched a crack in the arch. She felt the energy — old, strong, and hungry.
A deep rumble echoed from inside. Teresa narrowed her eyes, her energy flowing through her shoulders as she readied herself.
The Edge appeared beside her again, rolling up silently from Requip space and stopping right at her side.
She rested her palm on it, closed her eyes, and took a steady breath. She didn't say a word.
The forge waited for her next move.
