Chapter 126: Fighting Oración Seis
A brilliant magic blast detonated in midair, its dazzling light and fierce shockwave washing over the battlefield.
"Lin—!!"
A lone figure dropped from the sky and crashed hard into the ground, leaving a wide crater.
"What the—?!" murmured the Blue Pegasus trio and the Lamia Scale members in shock. They had realized that Su Yan must have leaped up to shield them from the blast with his own body.
"Su Yan!!" cried the Fairy Tail wizards, faces stricken.
"Krrk–!"
The dust and debris cleared as a gust of force blew it away. Su Yan rose to his feet from the center of the crater.
"Don't worry," he muttered, cracking his neck. "It'll take more than that to finish me. That magic cannon sure smarts, though!"
In everyday battles, Su Yan often tolerated incoming magical attacks—partly to show off, partly because most magics couldn't break his defenses. But a direct shot from a flying magic warship was no small matter. Even for him, it actually hurt.
The Blue Pegasus team gawked. The bomber "Christina," their guild's proudest weapon, normally annihilated anything it hit. Yet he'd blocked it alone and was merely "a bit pained."
"H-He's really a…monster."
Oración Seis, hovering on the ruined bomber, wore expressions of surprise as well. All across the battlefield, Fairy Tail breathed sighs of relief. Erza couldn't help but fret: Su Yan is too reckless! She knew better than most that despite his astounding durability, Su Yan was not truly invincible—he just had insanely high endurance aided by that strange "armament-like" Haki power. But there was a limit to how much force he could repeatedly tank.
"Undead Demon Emperor Su Yan, huh? The rumors about him being a problem weren't exaggerations," Brain, the Oración Seis leader, said calmly. He'd heard of Su Yan's defeat of José, a Ten Wizard Saint, and that alone demanded caution.
"Seems like he'll be our biggest obstacle," Cobra mused, watching Su Yan with narrowed eyes, as though trying to "listen" to his thoughts.
Su Yan glowered up at them, a slight smirk forming. "I was worrying how we'd find you bugs in a forest this huge, but guess you've saved me the trouble. Since you're all here, you can stay—I'll bury you all where you stand!"
Om—!!
A pulse of Conqueror's Haki flared out from him, slamming into the battered magic bomber in the sky.
"Scatter!!" Brain shouted, and the Oración Seis members quickly leaped off the craft.
Boom—!!
The majestic airship shattered under the pressure, crashing to the ground in pieces.
"Christina…!"
The Blue Pegasus trio paled in horror. Their guild's famed, elegant warship was reduced to scrap so easily.
All six Oración Seis members landed among the debris, and at once Su Yan lunged skyward again, wasting no time on words.
"Attack!" Brain commanded, and Oración Seis split into motion.
Racer was first, vanishing in a burst of speed. For many onlookers, he seemed to teleport—only Su Yan could track him clearly. But Su Yan's Haki was absent. He simply relied on refined battle instincts.
"So fast!" Lucy exclaimed, stunned by his afterimages.
Racer zipped behind Su Yan, aiming a fierce kick at the back of his head.
"Ugh!" Su Yan didn't react at all; not even a flinch. Racing around him in a blur, Racer landed punches, elbows, kicks from every direction.
"Su Yan—how could this be?!" Lucy cried, eyes wide. Su Yan was taking a beating without fighting back.
Erza, though, remained calm. "He's all right—don't panic."
"Are my blows too fast for you?!" Racer demanded, each blow striking home.
Suddenly, Su Yan's voice rumbled out: "Too weak."
"What…?"
"I said you're too weak," Su Yan repeated, unflinching. "These hits aren't even scratching me. Are you really one of Oración Seis? I hardly feel an itch."
Om—!!
His Conqueror's Haki exploded outward once again, battering Racer in an omnidirectional wave of force.
"Yaaahh—!" The speedster was sent flying, screaming.
The coalition finally got a clear look at Su Yan, who showed no wounds despite Racer's flurry of attacks. They were reminded why Su Yan bore the nickname "Undead Demon Emperor."
Su Yan sprang forward, locking eyes on Brain. "Let's see how strong the big boss is."
Boom!
In a split second, he was in front of Brain, purple arcs of energy crackling around his fist, reminiscent of combined Armament and Conqueror's Haki.
"Tch—Dark Shield!"
Brain hastily conjured a barrier of black magic between them.
Crack—!!
Su Yan's blow shattered it instantly.
"H-How is this possible?!" Brain blurted, eyes widening.
