Chapter 53: Chapter 53 Ultear’s Information

The crying gradually stopped.

Ur was the first to notice Caesar standing at the door.

Wiping her tears, Ur said to Caesar, "Sorry, I made you laugh."

When Ultear heard Ur's words, she immediately stood up and looked toward Caesar.

"The Tyrant of the Fairies."

Ultear looked at Caesar warily, her eyes full of fear.

Caesar ignored her and walked into the house.

Light shimmered briefly around his body as if nothing had happened.

However, a calm, reassuring aura slowly spread from him.

"The injuries are quite serious. You should take better care of your body."

Caesar walked over to Ur, raised his hand, and a healing light enveloped her.

The wounds inflicted by Ultear healed quickly.

Ur stood up and thanked Caesar.

"Let's set this aside for now, Ur. We need to talk about her."

Caesar looked seriously at Ultear.

"Caesar, she's my daughter."

Ur stepped between them and said firmly, "Please don't make this difficult for her."

Ultear's heart skipped a beat.

She realized she had been too careless.

Seeing her mother again had made her lower her guard completely.

"Alright, I'll give you some face."

Caesar spread his hands, looked at Ur, and said, "But based on all the jobs I've taken and the experience I've gained, anyone who reacts that strongly to my name is usually from a dark guild or a cult.

Your daughter is very likely headed down the wrong path."

"I will guide her back.

I thought she had died, and because of that, she strayed.

That's my responsibility to fix."

Ur's voice was calm, but her gaze was firm.

"Fine. But I want to witness it."

Caesar turned to Ultear.

"If you have something to say, say it to her.

But don't raise your hand against her.

She's your mother after all."

Ur finally relaxed, seeing that Caesar didn't intend to interfere further.

Ultear, however, knew that if she didn't explain, the man known as the Tyrant wouldn't let her go.

The thought gave her a headache.

If only she had nothing to hide, she wouldn't be afraid to speak.

But her hands were stained.

She saw the disappointment already forming in Ur's eyes.

"Should I lie?"

Just as the thought crossed her mind, Caesar said suddenly, "By the way, don't bother lying.

I have a Take Over spirit that can detect lies."

Light burst from Caesar's body as he transformed into a white-haired old man with an airplane-style pompadour.

Ultear's heart trembled.

She couldn't tell whether he was bluffing… but she also couldn't be sure he wasn't.

After struggling for a moment, she looked into Ur's clear eyes, sighed, and said, "As you might've guessed, I'm now a member of Grimoire Heart."

"The truth."

Caesar spoke calmly.

Ultear's heart skipped.

Ur's expression grew tense.

"I just heard you were resurrected, Ur, so I came to check."

"Lie."

Caesar's voice remained flat, but the aura around him surged.

"I'll talk! I'll talk!"

Seeing Caesar about to act, Ultear panicked and immediately confessed, briefly explaining why she came and what she had experienced over the years.

Ur was furious.

She had entrusted Ultear to those people to treat the overwhelming magic power in her daughter's body—not to make her a test subject!

Though Ultear described her past lightly, Ur could feel the pain and torment her daughter had endured.

Caesar stared at Ultear.

"Most of that's true.

But there's something you're still hiding."

Ultear's face went pale.

"I swear I didn't lie!"

"I didn't say you lied."

Caesar narrowed his eyes.

"What are you hiding?

Let me ask: the Dark Magic Order arrests from four years ago.

They had connections to that research institute, didn't they?

You were involved.

Don't pretend you know nothing!"

As soon as Caesar said that, Ur's eyes widened.

She remembered what Gray had told her about Caesar's past.

Putting his words together now, she understood.

Caesar definitely wasn't guessing—he knew something.

Ultear had been at that institute.

Maybe she did know something.

"Arrests?"

Ultear looked confused.

She hadn't known about that.

"Just a heads-up."

Caesar's tone turned cold.

"Erza was arrested too.

She later escaped."

Ultear suddenly understood.

Because she had brainwashed Jellal, she knew of Erza's past.

And she instantly grasped the connection.

Then she thought of the R-System.

Wait!

Ultear froze.

Ur was already resurrected…

That meant the R-System was no longer needed.

She clenched her fists and said, "I know this.

The Dark Magic cult members—the undead—they're trying to use the R-System to resurrect Zeref.

That's why they're arresting people to rebuild the R-System!"

"Where are they?"

Caesar's eyes sharpened, and bloodlust radiated from him.

Ultear's heart skipped again under the sudden murderous aura.

"Wait!"

Ur quickly stepped in front of him.

"Caesar, don't rush in!

They're well-armed and there's only one of you!"

"Clang!"

Hyorinmaru was unsheathed.

The cold blade touched Ur's neck.

"Ur, don't stop me."

Caesar's eyes were icy.

Even Ur found something unfamiliar—almost frightening—in him.

He picked up Ultear and said to the stunned Ur,

"I'm taking your daughter.

Don't worry. I'll protect her.

But don't get in my way.

This is the closest I've been to my goal in four years!"

Golden flames burst from Caesar.

Carrying Ultear, he flew into the sky, streaking toward the sea like a comet.

"It's bad! Something serious is about to happen!"

Ur rushed out of the house and watched Caesar disappear like a golden meteor.

Gritting her teeth, she sprinted toward the guild.

At this moment, the guild hadn't fully closed yet.

Ur kicked open the door and stood in the entrance, shouting,

"Master! Something's wrong! It's about Caesar!"

Her voice silenced the guild.

Everyone looked at her in shock.

Makarov put down his wine glass, furrowed his brow, and asked,

"What happened?"
