Chapter 17: Set For Work
The next day, Elon changed to a more suitable attire for the journey east, preferring to put on a white inner shirt with a long black jacket that reached his thighs, and a black long pant.
Walking out of the palace building, he noticed that all the demanded forces had been delivered.
He wouldn't count, but he estimated that the carts were up to thirty with his observant senses, and there were fifty men of course, all dressed in brown leather armor holding a wooden spear each. It was rare to see them with swords, and it was mostly the knights who could own one.
While Elon was preparing to leave, Matilda stepped out from her chambers and approached him. She was now wearing a the dress of a noble, and she seemed very happy even though she didn't express it.
"You are forgetting to have breakfast again today, please come have some bread and meat, son," Matilda spoke with concern.
"Ah, really... I don't even feel hungry, mother," Elon replied.
"But you have to eat something... It's going to be quite stressful out there," Matilda persuaded.
Elon ended up settling for the meal, after all the men would wait for as long as he commanded.
He is the king.
Though rushed, he enjoyed the meal while Matilda gave him some genuine advice. She had raised him since childhood, and had always advised him on what to do in certain occasions of his life, now that he was king of Salvador, it wouldn't be changing anything.
In fact, she is the one he trusts the most out of all, and he had never regretted listening to her advices in his life, based on the real Elon's memories.
"You have to be brave, son. The upcoming winter is not going to be a small deal. The Grand Maester of Steelhand Dynasty already stated that it would last for a whole year, and you know what that means.."
"I know, Mother. I have my plans," Elon smiled.
"The Negators aren't finished with us. They will surely come back after the winter season. Salvador has a lot of neighboring enemies as well... Only Kingdom Thera is our friend. You shouldn't trust any other king anywhere in Althera," Matilda added.
Elon couldn't help but nod, gathering that information in his head. He wasn't foolish after all, he read Fallen Mages. At this rate, he knew who to trust and who not to...
Truly, no kingdom in Althera apart from the Kingdom Of Thera is friendly to Salvador.
'But I'm surely gonna make them my friends,' Elon thought.

In the infirmary building, a young man with red hair and pale skin, possessing a strong bodybuild dashed out of the building with a maesteress following up in wary.
"You are not supposed to leave today, Aiden. You are not entirely okay!" The middle-aged woman warned as he tried holding his right arm.
"You don't have to worry, Maesteress Erra. I'm fine," Aiden responded, placing his hand on her shoulder. "Once I'm back from the trip east, I'll return to take some treatment."
With that said, Aiden quickly left and made his way to the Royal Palace. He already got himself dressed in his black armor, as the knight he was, and all he hoped at this moment as he sprinted into the streets was to meet up with King Elon and join them for the journey...
After failing to defeat the leader of the Last Order Army of the Negators, Xaven, Aiden had refused to forgive himself. After the countless training and practices he had done, the level he had to raise his Mana Storage to, and even the Arcane Art he learned from a very distant village... Still, he wasn't able to stop Xaven.
He believed that Xaven would have killed him if Elon hadn't came to save him. For that, Elon believed that he owes Elon his life, and would serve him for the rest of his life.
Ignoring the slight pain in his belly, Aiden continued to dash towards the Royal Palace. He had overheard some maesteresses talking about the speech King Elon made, and this waa how he knew that they would be going to fetch some white rocks from the stone forest... He also heard that King Elon stated that it wasn't just a white rock, but Limestone used for cement which he would use in building a block wall in preparation for winter.
Luckily for him, it was the moment they were about to leave that Aiden reached the Royal Palace.
With a delighted look on his face, gasping heavily, Aiden rushed to King Elon, who had his eyes widened the moment he saw him.

"Wh... Why are you here, Aiden? You are supposed to be receiving treatment," Elon asked, slightly confused as he furrowed his brows.
"I'm feeling better now, my king. I want to accompany you to the stone forest, if you would permit me," Aiden bowed as he spoke.
Elon stared at the determined face of the Male Lead of Fallen Mages, as he didn't even know when his heart clenched. He loved this character so much... A young boy who fought his way up as an orphan to become the strongest student in a prestigious Magic Academy.
He was someone to look up to when Elon was on earth, and even though Elon was now over him, he still admired him.
"Sure, man... As a matter of fact, I need you more than any man here," Elon smiled.
He noticed the smile on Aiden's face after accepting his proposal, which gave a deep sense of hope... Aiden was going to help a lot.
"Get a horse for him!" Elon ordered.
When they were all set, they all began their trip east of Salvador, as many stood at the sides of the streets watching was they progressed to the gates.
Thirty big wooden carts which the kingdom could barely afford...
Fifty armed men accompanying them...
Ser Vorden and Aiden Skyborne riding alongside and protecting the king.
No one had an idea of what this new king intends to do for this falling kingdom, but all they could believe was that he is striving to make Salvador a better place.
A king that preferred joining the works he created without minding to give orders...
His like was the first they had ever seen.
