Extra's Fate

Chapter 24: Vastly Different

My blade tore through the air, slicing through the throat of a goblin wielding a polished spear.

⌜Devourer⌝

❖ You've killed a Lv. 20 Goblin General…

❖ Devouring unsuccessful [ Enemy is too weak ]

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to absorb any stats from the fallen foe.

Well, I wasn't disappointed as I more or less expected that to happen.

More than a week has already passed since I entered the Dungeon and my power has grown considerably.

It would be more surprising if I could still gain anything from killing these creatures.

'Status'

I muttered, ruffling my bloody and dirty dark hair.

Soon enough, a blue interface materialized before me.

⌞The End⌟

It was vastly different from the last time I checked, which was a mere week ago.

My attributes had grown immensely!

Obviously, they were nothing impressive compared to the ones of other characters but it was an immense improvement from when I first started out.

'I've come a long way…'

I smiled, clenching my fist.

Turning my head to the side, I glanced at the vast expanse of the Dungeon.

The army of goblins was no more, their remnants scattered across the ground. Countless corpses and rivers of blood marked the previously empty plains.

It was an absolute carnage.

Anyways, I was already used to it by now.

"Time to head outside!"

***

Whoosh…

Stepping out of the dungeon, I inhaled a lungful of musty air.

Behind me, the portal began to shimmer and ripple. Soon, cracks began to form across its surface until it shattered into millions of tiny shards, disappearing without a trace.

Since I had defeated all the monsters within its confines, the Dungeon had naturally collapsed.

Looking around, I realized that I was still in the same room I entered from.

Entering the corridor, I also threw a glance at the room with beds located in them. The people located within them were gone, probably taken away by other slum inhabitants.

'Good…'

I nodded my head.

It took me a few minutes, but I was finally able to reach the exit and step outside.

『 Shadow Step 』

Appearing on one of the slum main streets, I took a few steps forwards before vanishing again.

『 Shadow Step 』

I did this a couple more times until I reached the port.

This time I didn't appear in a street bur rather in a clothing store. Before anyone could even notice my presence, I grabbed a change of clothes and disappeared once again.

Whoosh…

Appearing in a quiet, deserted alleyway, I took a moment to survey my surroundings.

The narrow passage was surprisingly clean, a stark contrast to the chaos and filth of the slums. The walls on either side were lined with faded posters and graffiti, but the ground was free from the usual debris and grime.

With no one around, I quickly shed my bloody and ragged clothing, letting the tattered remnants fall to the ground.

I reached into the stolen bundle and pulled out the fresh garments.

The inconspicuous grey clothing was simple yet functional, perfect for blending into the bustling port city.

I slipped on the pants, which were slightly loose but comfortable.

The shirt was plain, with long sleeves that I rolled up to my elbows.

A hooded cloak completed the outfit, allowing me to cover my dark hair and further obscure my appearance.

'Perfect.'

Satisfied with my new look, I stepped out of the alley and joined the throngs of people milling about the port.

Since I had done everything I needed to do here, it was time to depart.

It was time to go to the Academy.
