Chapter 590: Forbidden Ability
He tried to create a sixth monster Core.
His Seed of Existence twisted under the strain.
The Intent of Existence inside it cracked and warped.
He felt like it was about to snap.
His body was already shattered beyond repair, and his soul was flickering, fraying at the edges.
But he didn't stop.
Clenching his teeth, he forcefully created the sixth Core.
It formed slowly, shaking violently as if it rejected being born.
And then it clicked into place.
Nameless Death immediately deployed the World stored inside.
Pain hit him like a mountain. His body was pulverized from the inside out.
But it didn't matter.
The World had activated, and that was what he wanted.
Time twisted.
The sixth Time Dilation World wrapped around him like a veil.
In an instant, he became much more faster.
It was as if the ant's insides slowed.
Even the Level 2 ant, with its insane speed, now moved like a sluggish creature underwater. Its Devouring Blood, once unstoppable, now looked like a lazy stream trying to crawl across the air.
Nameless Death reached out and grabbed his True Death Sword.
Then he moved.
He tore through the ant's stomach, cutting through its organs and internal plating with wild swings.
His Darkness surged.
The Darkness Firmament he controlled spread like a sea, devouring everything it touched. Flesh, blood, bone, it was all being consumed.
Within seconds, the ant's body began collapsing from the inside.
The ant didn't even had time to screech as everything was happening to quickly.
Nameless Death burst out through its exoskeleton finally.
Its body shattered.
Without a moment's hesitation, he turned and began devouring the Level 2 ant's corpse.
Darkness swallowed the remains, breaking them down and feeding them directly to his existence.
He felt the change immediately.
His Existence stabilized, even if only by a little, and it was strengthened, reaching Level 2.
The strain from deploying six Worlds faded slightly.
At the same time, massive amounts of raw stats poured into him.
"Good," he muttered.
He called back the deployed World(s) into their Cores, allowing them down to recover. Worlds couldn't be deployed without break.
They needed to given rest. It was sort of similar to cooldown in skills inside a game.
But Nameless Death didn't had this problem.
If a Core was in Cooldown, he could just create a new one.
He let the five Monster Cores float behind him in a circle. They spun slowly, pulsing with dim light.
With the sixth World deactivated, the battlefield returned to its normal pace.
Time resumed.
The Level 1 ants, previously frozen or slowed to irrelevance, began to move again.
Screeches and roars echoed through their combined World as the remaining ants looked around, then froze when they saw their leader missing.
They hadn't even realized what happened.
Nameless Death didn't wait.
He slashed.
The True Death Sword blurred, sweeping across the space like a curtain falling on a stage.
In less than a second, every Level 1 ant dropped dead.
Five hundred eighty-seven corpses hit the ground simultaneously as their combined World was destroyed.
"The moment I hit Level 2, I was able to kill five hundred eighty-seven Level 1 Gods just like that."
Nameless Death let out a breath.
"The gap between levels is too damn huge."
He clicked his tongue.
If he couldn't jump ranks to fight, he would never have been able to win even with his immortality.
The true reason of his victory were his powerful techniques, and how he stacked them to strengthen their effects.
Shadow Core Concept was the perfect example.
In most hands, the Shadow Core Concept was practical but limited. Someone with deep knowledge of buildings could use it to recreate fortresses. Maybe even weapons.
A genius might replicate attack techniques they'd studied. A creative mind could mimic advanced constructs or formations.
But for a Darkness User, the possibilities were different.
If they devoured a sword, they could remake it. If they devoured an energy, they could mimic them. Everything could be reborn from shadow.
Everything except Consciousness.
And for Nameless Death, who didn't just devour the physical, but also Existence and Consciousness, it meant he could recreate anything.
People. Skills. Attacks. Concepts.
He could replicate anything and everything perfectly.
Anything he created would be no different from the real thing.
And there were no limits. So long as he had devoured it, it could be recreated.
He looked up at the corpses around him.
"If I wanted... I could remake the ant," he muttered. "And not just with their powers, but with their personality, existence, and Consciousness. I can create thousands of copies of a single ant."
Of course creating a powerful Existence and Consciousness needed a lot of energy, but what really mattered was now that he could do something like this.
He could kill anyone.
Revive them by creating a new body and putting their real Consciousness into the body.
Or he could create a new body and new Consciousness. The new being would be an exact replica of the previous one.
Nameless Death stared at his hands, realizing what sort of power he had gained.
After a few seconds, he shook his head.
Right now, he needed to hunt the Queen Ant, and complete the Quest while preparing to fight the Berserker.
"I should focus on getting stronger instead of worrying about what is ethical and what should be forbidden."
His Darkness and Darkness Firmament surged, devouring the Level 1 ants, then he finally entered the ants nest.
He appeared inside a huge tunnel.
Several tunnels the size of moon–
"Moon?" he stopped thinking when he realized what he had thought about. "What moon was I using to compare sizes?"
He scratched his head, trying to recall the memory.
It was an unsuccessful endeavor as he had expected.
Nameless Death clicked his tongue and scanned the surroundings.
He quickly located a giant vertical tunnel. According to his memories, the vertical tunnels led deeper into the anthill, and he would find the Queen Ant at the end.
Without wasting another second, he jumped into the tunnel.
