Exorcist in America

Chapter 455: Chapter 455: All Will Die

Exorcism is a task that drains both energy and spirit.

True clergy, like priests, often end up pale and drenched in sweat after an exorcism due to the immense consumption of energy.

Constantly reciting Bible prayers while avoiding interruptions from the demon is crucial; otherwise, the entire process fails, and all the holy power expended is wasted.

To maintain the suppression and torment of the demon's power, the ritual must be restarted from the beginning.

As the Bible prayers are recited, the effects grow stronger over time, reaching a point where even the demon's incarnation cannot withstand the pressure.

At this stage, the priest will either ask for the demon's true name or forcibly expel it.

This is why demons always act during exorcisms—to prevent the growing power from overwhelming them.

Additionally, to ensure the exorcism process is not interrupted, priests usually bring deacons or monks for protection.

These protectors are there to ensure the priest can continue the exorcism uninterrupted.

This is also why York's reputation is unique, as he performs exorcisms alone without any protective deacons, handling the ritual entirely by himself.

Bang!

The black current split by Brother Worawit crashed on either side of him and Father Diego, causing the wooden walls to crack.

"Damn bug!!"

Failing to interrupt Father Diego's Bible recitation, Ms. Mehliban's face twisted even more grotesquely.

The holy power continuously descending and slowly manifesting with the scriptures caused her discomfort and pain.

It felt as if she were being beaten!

Unable to bear the pain, Ms. Mehliban yanked her left hand, snapping the rope, and lunged at Brother Worawit with her sword.

Her dirty nails grew sharper, making it clear that being scratched would result in a gruesome wound.

Even a mere scratch could cause excruciating pain and death due to the filth.

Brother Worawit remained calm amidst the chaos, listening to Father Diego's voice, taking a deep breath, and stepping forward with his sword.

He knew his duty—to protect the priest, ensuring the exorcism could proceed without disturbance.

With a clang, the knight's sword met Ms. Mehliban's claws, producing a sound like metal striking metal.

This was flesh meeting a sword blade!

Brother Worawit's expression remained unchanged; he was not surprised by this outcome.

Exorcising demons at the final stage is notoriously difficult.

The signs of demonic possession are usually obvious, manifesting in several ways.

First is the change in voice and tone; possessed individuals typically emit deep, low growls filled with terror and malice, like a beast's roar, hoarse and cold, full of malice and mockery.

Secondly, their personality undergoes extreme changes, often showing violent impulses and attacking people and objects around them.

In the next stage, the demon's power begins to manifest, causing the body to twist and spasm uncontrollably.

These changes make the host's movements stiff and unnatural, creating a frightening appearance.

The most terrifying sign is when the host displays non-human abilities, like clinging to walls like a gecko.

These are the origins of the so-called contortions of possessed individuals.

By this point, the host is already in significant danger.

Ms. Mehliban had surpassed the second stage and reached the third.

Her body began to exhibit non-human characteristics, demonstrating superhuman strength.

Like now, she was using her body to fight the sword.

"Roar!"

Ms. Mehliban leaped, breaking the ropes on her feet.

The ropes couldn't restrain her; lying in bed was all an act.

It's conceivable that this demon had a purpose, perhaps waiting for the clergy.

Brother Worawit's face remained stern, his expression unchanging as he watched Ms. Mehliban cling to the ceiling like a spider. He adjusted his stance and swung his sword with immense force.

Ms. Mehliban disappeared from the ceiling and reappeared in the path of the swinging sword.

With a clang, the knight's sword struck Ms. Mehliban's waist, sending her flying and embedding her in the wall transformed by holy power and scriptures.

The holy power flowing on the wall made her body emit smoke, as if being burned by real flames.

Ms. Mehliban, who had been able to endure and mockingly claim to enjoy the pain, now screamed in agony.

This was because Father Diego's exorcism ritual continued unabated. His constant recitation of scriptures and consumption of holy power made the force increasingly strong, unless interrupted by the demon.

"Roar!"

The more Ms. Mehliban struggled, the more violent the disturbance. Brother Worawit, who protected Father Diego, remained calm, his grip on the sword handle tightening, veins bulging, showing how tightly he held it.

He knew that the demon, in such pain, would become even more terrifying, like a cornered beast. Any relaxation could be fatal.

At that moment, Brother Worawit swung his sword, striking the dazed Daken, sending him flying.

Simultaneously, Ms. Mehliban disappeared. Brother Worawit stomped heavily, reversing his grip to slash the knight's sword in the opposite direction.

Bang!

Ms. Mehliban was slashed again, but this time, her appearance was more grotesque, with horns sprouting from her forehead. Before hitting the wall, she forcibly stopped mid-air, her eyes turning into vertical pupils.

She was defying gravity even while being slashed.

"You all will die!" she roared.
