NOVEL WEB Chapter 23: The Final Howl
Lizarius watched as the two remaining wolves, shocked, witnessed his slow disappearance. They trembled in fear. One of the wolves coughed up blood. Then, Lizarius materialized beside the bleeding wolf, his tail piercing its side. He withdrew his tail, and the wolf collapsed.
Seeing its companion fall, the other wolf turned and fled. Lizarius glanced at the retreating wolf and swung his blood-covered tail, sending golden scales flying through the air. The scales pierced the fleeing wolf, killing it instantly.
Lizarius, standing near the corpse he had pierced with his tail, thought, I guess that's all. He opened his mouth and began to feed.
An hour later, the leaders of the Flaming Wolves and the Wind Wolves, both injured and gasping for breath, faced each other. Half of the Wind Wolves leader's face was burned, exposing his facial muscles. The Flaming Wolves leader's body was covered in cuts from the Wind Wolves leader's wind slashes.
They stared at each other, their eyes locked. The Wind Wolves leader began to howl, and the wind rose, carrying leaves and dust. Seeing this, the Flaming Wolves leader growled, baring his teeth. Blue flames engulfed his body.
He charged towards the Wind Wolves leader, who was surrounded by a spinning wind barrier. The Flaming Wolves leader was thrown back by the wind.
He rose, gathering blue flames on his paw. He swung his paw, striking the ground and sending a blue flame claw attack towards the Wind Wolves leader. The claw attack shattered the wind barrier. The Flaming Wolves leader charged.
Seeing the Flaming Wolves leader charging, the Wind Wolves leader sent multiple wind slashes. He dodged them one after the other, but he couldn't avoid them all. He was struck in one eye, letting out a painful growl. Yet, he continued his charge.
He leaped, jaws wide open, flames erupting from his mouth. He reached the Wind Wolves leader, who was too weak to react.
The Flaming Wolves leader bit down on its neck, and the blue flames engulfed the Wind Wolves leader, burning him.
The Flaming Wolves leader released the charred corpse, panting heavily.
