Chapter 188
J: Chapter 1 of 10. As for the reason why there are only 10, I will explain on the last chapter I will post today along with some bad news.
The problem of the Red Hole was something to take care of after returning to Korea. Before that, it was important as to how I would spread this information.
I did think about how it would be if I were to reveal myself and say that I could create dungeons.
“It would get incredibly annoying.”
Edward agreed with me.
Not only the Korean government, but governments from all over the world would become bloodshot to possess me. It would be fine if they were amicable but there were plenty of people that would do whatever they can for profit.
People around me, especially my family or teammates might come across problems so it was better to prevent it ahead of time.
In the end, that meant that I had to hide the fact that it was me.
Still, I was able to think of two methods after pondering for an entire day.
The first was to open a very small number of dungeons.
Dungeons were precious resources so the ones appointed to them first would be the major raid teams of each country.
Those people had know hows build up over time. There would be few casualties as long as they don’t let their guard down.
Like that, I would slowly raise the number of dungeons and the method of clearing dungeons would spread, causing the number of casualties to drop.
The second was to just release information on the internet.
It wasn’t like hunters that weren’t rash didn’t exist but the majority of hunters considered information gathering important. Even by just releasing the information I had on Red Holes, the damaged could be lessened quite a bit.
Of course, there would still be stupid people that just charge in to the dungeon regardless.
The former was stable although it took some time while the latter could clear the dungeon quickly but with many casualties.
“Which do you think is better?”
“I’m not sure. If it was me, I would choose the latter but from a human’s perspective it would be the former. Humans put more meaning into death than we do after all.”
“You’re saying some useful things unexpectedly.”
Edward’s opinion was right.
The problem of rare earth metal distribution was a problem as well but it wasn’t something to do while taking the danger that follows into account.
For now, since ores are being supplied from new islands like the Yellow Sea and New Alaska, it should be possible to minimize the confusion by slowly opening up Red Holes.
Ring ring-
The phone rang. It was Han Joon-suk.
“Is there a problem?”
[I have something to report.]
“To report? You did so not too long ago though.”
Han Joon-suk, who was currently in charge of Team Delta’s management, was sending an email every time they had an achievement at a dungeon after organizing it into a document.
That was a few days ago and there was no particular reason for a new report.
[Did you see the news by any chance?]
“No. I was a bit busy.”
[China just announced ownership over the Yellow Sea. It seems they’re planning on provoking for real now.]
“So it turns out like this in the end.”
I did think it was going to happen at some point.
From China’s perspective, they couldn’t be satisfied with half of the ores and items produced from the Yellow Sea after all.
At first they had tried to use the Chungho Group to cause confusion but they had been quiet after failing because of me.
However, it was confirmed that they could mass produce Baek Gyeong so it wasn’t difficult to predict that they would move using brute force.
But it was still far too fast.
I thought that they would wait at least a few months.
“How exactly are things proceeding?”
[China has announced ownership rights over the Yellow Sea. Their logic is that the entire Yellow Sea is their land since its connected to their country.]
“But the Yellow Sea is connected to our country too.”
The Yellow Sea was connected on the TaeAn Peninsula. In other words, China’s announcement didn’t make any sense.
[There’s something else. Not too long ago, do you remember how they declared the Yellow Sea itself as their inland sea?]
“Ah ah. That has continuously been a problem.”
The conflict between China and Korea on the Yellow Sea had been continuing for quite a while now.
Especially after North Korea went over to China after the monster wave incident 50 years that movement proceeded faster.
At the time, the Korean government couldn’t function properly due to the monsters so they were trying to get over it nicely instead of getting a headache over it.
So they sent time while pretending not to know about it.
“Did they tackle that as well?”
[Yes. Their logic is that the entire Yellow Sea is theirs because we had given up possession over it back then.]
“They should know well that it doesn’t make sense.”
[That kind of thing probably doesn’t matter. It’s probably a means to stack pretext after all. Either way, the Chinese government has declared that they would take over by force if the Koreans don’t leave the Yellow Sea until the end of next month.]
The Korean government was snorting saying that the provocation was nonsense.
Even if a war occurred, it would only be a land battle. It’s because both sides had nuclear weapons. In the end, hunters would be deployed and it wouldn’t be much different from what happened until now.
Currently, the majority thought that our country and China had similar war potential. And that was also only because of the difference in numbers, our country was overwhelmingly in the lead in terms of quality.
The reason the Korean government was showing such an aloof attitude was because of this as well.
On the other hand, I thought that this was the best chance to see the connect between the Korean government and the Alpha system.
China had 1000 Baek Gyeongs.
It was impossible to block this using normal methods. I had confirmed their power personally after all. No matter how many hunters there are if they start shooting Hadron Canons as a group even level 10 hunters wouldn’t be able to endure and turn into particles.
So it shouldn’t be possible to block them using normal methods. If that was the case, then there was no choice but for Lee Hui-seung to take action. If he really had a connection to the Alpha system then a ‘special’ event might occur there.
For example, monsters landing on the entire Yellow Sea.
However, I had another method of resolving it.
“I will see how it progresses for now. Please be careful of hunting at the Yellow Sea in that time.”
[I understand. But around when are you planning on returning?]
“I will go as soon as I’m done with my business here so I’m thinking that it will take another month. I will try to go as soon as possible. Ah right, I will send you the contract by email so please hunt at dungeons at this place for now.”
[Dungeons you say?]
“Yes. It is at North Korea but the problem of ownership has been taken care of so there shouldn’t be any problems.”
[Are you planning on opening Red Holes?]
“Yes. I can’t let them start a war after all.”
I ended the call with that.
For now, there was need to actively take part in the trouble with China.
The main reason China was coveting the Yellow Sea was because of the lack of dungeons so if that were to be solved there was no need for them to fight like that.
I opened the Mystic Dungeon through the manual.
The world map appeared before my eyes. Dungeon points were blinking all over the map.
I opened dungeons with appropriate proportions for each country. Our country had 10, China had 100, and so on. Also, I opened all the dungeons that were within my possession in North Korea. Team Delta will be hunting with that place as the base for a while.
In the end, the negotiations went as I wanted. Thanks to President Wholshore’s active mediation 20 cubits were passed at a nonsensical value of 200b and I received a net profit of over 20t over a month by installing them on dozens of planes.
I wonder what I could do with 20t.
One would be able to buy a small kingdom and live in the lap of luxury. Or they could multiply it by investing. It was also possible to do business or donate it.
There might be some that would invest it into the future of mankind.
There would be nothing one couldn’t do with that amount of money after all.
Also, I put all that money into the Hunter Market.
Even thinking about it simple, it was 200 level 10 items.
As to where I used it all.
I bought items and created monsters.
I looked at the level 10 monsters lining up in front of me with a pleased expression.
Black Tiger, Grabgor, also Arctic Bear etc. They were all monsters I had met at least once. Even with their presence alone the surroundings fluctuated. With this kind of power, I don’t think I would lose against the typical large scale raid team.
“You’re crazy.”
Edward had said to me.
“I think so too.”
And that was my reply.
Nobody would have thought that 20t would be spent all at once like this.
However, this was the conclusion I came to after going through many battles.
A level 10 monster had the efficiency of a single level 10 hunter.
However, thinking about the equipment a single hunter needed, this method was much cheaper.
In other words, it was possible to see several times the profit by creating a monster.
I’m thinking that I might even be able to become on par with Lee Hui-seung.
Even if one decorated themselves with level 10 equipment the main was a weapon and armor. Others besides those were merely support roles.
Even if one had dozens of skills, skills that are used often would only be narrowed down to one or two.
Having 10 level 10 skills didn’t mean that the person’s power increased 10 times.
Even if there were dozens of passive skills they don’t overlap after all.
I have concluded that it would be difficult to find a person stronger than me as a single entity.
I gained the Immortality skill by adding a skill slot with the remaining money and appointed Baek Gyeong as a subordinate.
I bought a level 10 armor.
Also, China released Baek Gyeong on the Yellow Sea.
I hurriedly rode a plane and returned to Korea. America seemed to want me to stay longer but this side was more urgent.
After coming back to my house after such a long time, I could see Soo-ah who was training while drowned in sweat.
It felt like it had only been yesterday since we met when it had already been several months.
“You’re working hard.”
“Huh?”
Soo-ah’s pupils that found me started trembling.
To be honest, I was quite happy to see her as well so I was wondering whether I should run up and hug her or something when.
“Ahhh!”
Soo-ah covered her face and started dashing towards the house.
“…… What is she doing?”
“You don’t understand a woman’s heart.”
Edward said.
His words were too harsh for a virgin.
“You’re noisy. What do you know?”
“She probably didn’t want her figure without makeup and drenched in sweat to be seen.”
“That guy usually doesn’t use make up.”
At least I never saw her wear make up.
I do think there was one time when she did but I can’t remember that well since it was such a long time ago.
