Evercrest Vampire Truth

Chapter 11: Dalon

Evercrest is a vast continent on the planet of Dalon. Its population mostly consists of humans and ancient vampires.

There are six continents on the planet:

Evercrest

Trillmon

Easilan

Alis

Masiria

Persaran.

Along with these six continents there are many independent island nations within almost every one of the seven great bodies of water on the planet.

Dalon had four oceans and three seas yet the planet still had more visible land than water due to the sheer size of Dalon and its continents.

The planet revolves around three sun's. The large white star is the most central of the three and both of the other stars revolved around it along with Dalon. The next sun was a small blue sun, and the closest sun to Dalon was a large green sun.

All three suns were important for Dalon's well-being. The white sun gave warmth and nutrients to the planet. The blue sun also gave warmth but it's most important affect was counteracting the negative affects of the white sun. Finally the green sun was Dalon's main source of magic energies.

Dalon also had two other celestial bodies within its skies. A small red moon and a large purple moon orbited around the planet. The red moon controlled the tides and it was the cause of the werewolf transformation of the Trillmon peoples. The purple moon did not seem to affect Dallon but a very rare and precious purple mineral was found there and there were several mines on its surface and deep within its crust.

Dalon is essentially a peaceful planet. The ancient beings are the ancient vampires, the ancients, and the werewolves. They generally keep planetary order and seven individuals of each group sit on a council that decides the fate of the planet.

Evercrest is the central most continent on Dalon and sits at the Eversea Sea and the Sepia ocean. It has always been the ancestral home of the ancient vampires here on Dalon. It is bordered to the east by Persaran, the home of the Ancients.

The ancients were on Dalon almost as long as the ancient vampires. They know histories that no other group knows. They are a tall people averaging between nine and twelve feet. Their hair is usually a red or auburn color and their eyes are usually different shades of green.

They were telepaths but they say that this was not a natural talent but one they gave themselves and then made sure it became a dominant attribute within them.

They are scholars and powerful ones. It is believed that their brains are akin to sophisticated machines and they can instantly find multiple ways to solve any given problem. It is probably the structure of their heads that give others these ideas. They have large rounded foreheads that jut out over deep set usually round eyes. The back of there heads extends upwards and ends in a rounded conical shape.

But in actuality their heads had evolved to hold their large hearts. With the skull becoming like reinforced metal making it extremely difficult to damage. Their brains had moved into their chest cavity and extended down along the lungs into the abdomen.

All this they did to themselves. Stating the they wanted their race to continually improve and remain stable. For this the ancients rarely socialized with other races and never intermingled with other races,

The third race of ancient beings are the Trillmon and they live to the north of Evercrest in Trillmon. The Trillmon are a race of strong, short, crafters. They came to Dalon after the ancient vampires when their planet was destroyed. They settled in well but soon discovered that when the red moon was full it caused a massive transformation in them. The usually short, between three and five feet, people become almost as tall as the ancients, averaging between seven and ten feet. Their already bulky bodies became even more bulky and their strength almost quadrupled in many of them.

They never became truly dangerous in this state even though their natural aggression was even subdued a bit, but they were more easily provoked to violence and it was very difficult to deescalate the situation once one of them became angered.

The Trillmon were artisans in every way possible. They created art, things for convenience, types of delicacies, and so on.

In their natural state they had brown hair and their eyes are always in varying shades of brown. As werewolves their hair and eyes became varying shades of red with the more powerful werewolves having hair and eyes in red jewel tones.

As werewolves they were still very intelligent but they also became agile and gracefully. In their natural state they were not clumsy but they did not have the agility and grace that they did when they were werewolves.

Many of them decided to live as werewolves and only came out when they were in this state. Many of these Trillmon were trying to find ways to maintain the effects of the red full moon permanently.

After this there is Easilan, to the east of Persaran, the current home of the self proclaimed true vampires. The true vampires ran here with the paid help of the ancients. They wanted sufficient distance from their enemies but they still wanted to have access to them in case they need it. And Easilan had never been completely explored.

The true vampires still send in raiding parts to collect ancient vampires. This is actually a problem for the ancients as they tend to want to take a neutral stands in everything.

Alis shares its southern border with Trillmon and Persaran and is a vastly unexplored region like, Easilan, but its landscape is desert while Easilan is covered in unexplored forests.

It is currently unknown if there are groups living in the deserts of Alis.

Finally Masiria shares its southern border with Trillmon and its eastern border with Alis. Masiria is a human nation and mainly stays to itself. This had always been home to humans with many humans leaving their native lands to meet other beings and to practice magic.

In this way humans had migrated to all continents, with the exception of Alis, and a few of the islands on the planet.

Humans living on Dalon have always had a distrust for magic. So many of them speak against magic, refuse healing potions and spells, and any help that has anything to do with magic.

It is the belief of many humans that a single flick of magic can corrupt and once corrupted there was no way for a human to be saved or redeemed. All humans exhibiting magic abilities were shunned and kicked out of the main cities and their families were monitored for two generations after the discovery of magic ability in their bloodline. If two were found in one family, especially across generations the entire family was shunned and banned from major cities.

This is how Suzan's family first came to attia and became a powerful human family within the realm of magic.

Essentially large portions of humans felt that every time something bad happened on the planet it was due to magic. When the humans started hunting ancient vampires and all humans were blamed Masiria declared it another incident of magic seducing humans.

Dalon was usually a tranquil place. Most of its inhabitants socialized well with each other or they did not socialize at all.

This is the world that Suzan was finally about to explore. At first she was a bit apprehensive until she realized that she was not the only one in their group who never had such experiences.

She found herself wondering when she would be able to meet someone from one of the other races on Dalon.

A soft voice drifted through her ear canal even though no one was close enough to her to whisper in her ear. She recognized her teacher immediately.

Terese's voice was soft and melodious like all ancient vampires.

"Be careful what you hope for. You are extremely powerful and many will want you for that power.

"Not to assist them, or teach them, but to be drained from you, with your body examined in the hopes that such power can be replicated in them or for them and their personal needs."

"Is there anyone you like teacher."

"I like you and your mother and that is all I can do."

And like that she was gone again. Her consciousness removed from Suzan's being. She pursed her lips and altered her thoughts.

How could she hate others? How could she distrust those who were different from her. The love of her life and her biological father are both ancient vampires.

Doesn't that mean she should at least understand them as much as she can?

Her stomach knotted as she thought about why her biological parents were dead and who had disfigured Terese. Didn't these same people hunt down powerful human magic wielders?

Maybe she should be scared.
