Chapter 6: Prism Compass
The tower walls looked like living metal, pulsing with a red light that resembled the flow of blood. Strange patterns on its surface moved constantly, forming ancient symbols that were hard to understand. The air inside felt heavy, as if pressing on their lungs with a strange and mysterious energy.
Aveline held the Prism in her hand. Its blue light pierced the darkness of the hallway, casting lifelike shadows on the walls. Kael walked beside her, his sword drawn and shimmering with energy from the small Prism attached to its hilt.
"Kael," Aveline said in a low voice. "Do you feel like the tower is watching us?"
Kael nodded, his eyes darting around warily. "Not just watching. I feel like the tower is alive, and it knows our every move."
Suddenly, the Prism in Aveline's hand glowed brighter, directing its light at the wall in front of them. An ancient symbol glowed red, and a secret door opened with a whoosh.
"That's our way in," Aveline said. Before they could take a step, however, the floor shook violently.
From the dark hallway, a swarm of Cyber Wraiths emerged, their bodies glowing with red energy. They moved swiftly, clawing at the air with metallic claws that made a whirring sound.
Harmony in Battle
Kael immediately stepped forward, shielding Aveline behind him. "I'll block them. You figure out how to open the next path!"
"I know," Aveline replied, concentrating her energy on the Prisma. However, her eyes still glanced at Kael occasionally, making sure he was okay.
The battle began. Kael moved like the wind, his sword gleaming as he parried the Cyber Wraiths' attacks. Each strike sent sparks of blue energy, destroying one enemy after another.
"Aveline, channel your energy into my sword!" Kael shouted.
Aveline raised the Prisma, emitting bright blue energy that flowed into Kael's sword. With his newfound strength, Kael launched himself forward, cutting through his enemies with one powerful slash.
However, from above, a larger Cyber Wraith leaped toward Aveline. She blocked with the energy shield of her Prism, but the attack was too powerful.
"Kael!" she cried in panic.
Kael jumped, swinging his sword in a spinning attack that struck the enemy before it could hurt Aveline. He landed beside her, breathing heavily.
"Are you okay?" he asked, looking at her worriedly.
"I'm fine. Thank you," Aveline replied, her cheeks flushed.
The Secret of the Prism
As the fight ended, the Prism in Aveline's hand suddenly glowed even brighter. A new form emerged from the Prism an energy compass that floated in the air, pointing to a wall at the far end of the room.
"What is this?" Aveline asked, confused but fascinated.
"It seems to point the way out," Kael replied, his eyes glued to the compass.
Before they could take a step, however, a voice from within the tower echoed, cold and menacing. "You are not allowed to go any further."
From the wall, a large creature emerged. Its body was half-machine with weapons in both arms. Its eyes glowed red, glaring at them with hatred.
"Prepare yourself, Kael," Aveline said, gripping the Prisma tighter. "This will be a tough fight."
Kael turned to her, smiling faintly. "As long as we're together, I know we can get through this."
They stared at each other for a moment, and there was a warmth between them, despite the danger. Aveline nodded, and together, they stepped forward to face their new enemy.
