Entertainment: Starting as a Succubus, Taking Hollywood by Storm

Chapter 835: The Subconscious and Dreams

As the two women quickened their pace, a sudden roar erupted from both sides of the red carpet, the deafening cheers exploding out of nowhere.

Amber Heard and Tasya van Ree turned in surprise, spotting Martin, sharp in a deep navy suit, striding toward them with purpose.

Amber's heart stirred, and she deliberately slowed her steps again. Maybe this is good for both of us. I can't give her what she wants, and lately, Amber's been nagging me to meet Miranda. It's driving me nuts.

"Hey, ladies, together as always?"

Martin reached them, waving off a staff member who was about to usher the pair away. He slid his arms around Amber Heard's and Tasya van Ree's waists.

In an instant, Amber felt dizzy as the cameras, which had been stingy with their flashes, erupted in a frenzy of clicks and lights aimed in her direction.

She knew they were photographing Martin, but she didn't mind playing the backdrop. Martin Meyers' backdrop, no less.

Tasya van Ree, however, wasn't caught up in such thoughts. She was too stunned by her own reaction—or lack thereof—to Martin's touch. Oddly, she felt no discomfort at all.

This was strange.

She'd never liked men getting close, let alone wrapping an arm around her waist.

While striking poses, Amber's attention lingered on Martin's hand at her waist, its warmth making her feel a little flushed.

She'd known for a while that, while she preferred women, she wasn't entirely closed off to men—just indifferent.

Martin wasn't surprised that Amber reacted to his touch. She's bisexual, just hasn't fully awakened to men yet. I guess I flipped that switch early.

But Tasya van Ree? What's her deal? She's supposed to be a hardcore lesbian.

Then it hit him, and he smirked. Must be my charm working overtime.

In the interview zone, reporters bombarded Martin with questions.

"Martin, what kind of film is Inception? Can it really unravel the mystery of dreams?"

Martin grinned. That reporter's probably a plant from the studio.

"No one can truly unravel the mystery of dreams," he replied. "This is a movie, not a science documentary. But compared to dry docs, it's way more fun."

"Martin, what inspired you to make a film like this?"

"Since the 21st century began, the subconscious has become a buzzword. Curiosity about it has made dream interpretation one of the top questions we ask shrinks. Dreams are the best window into the subconscious. Compared to other ways it reveals itself, dreams carry this magnetic, mysterious allure that grabs people's attention. So I thought, why not make a film about the subconscious, about dreams?"

"Martin, do you think dreams can be fully decoded?"

"That's similar to the last question. I think it's tough. Dreams aren't that simple. The imaginative space they create is wild and unpredictable."

Amber Heard fought the urge to melt into Martin's arms, mentally chanting, This is a public place, this is a public place.

Meanwhile, Tasya van Ree, usually so tough, betrayed a rare hint of girlish shyness.

Just inside the entrance, they spotted Leonardo holding court with Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese, boasting with gusto.

"I was thinking, my God, this story isn't just wildly entertaining—it's got this layered, thrilling vibe, a sense of mystery. The protagonist's on this relentless quest for a long-buried truth, a way back home. That journey of unraveling answers? It's intoxicating."

"I have no idea how Martin's brain works, crafting an original story this mind-blowing. The dreams in the film are designed so vividly—visually, emotionally, they feel so real. The dreamer's in the dream but completely unaware it's just a dream. My God, in that subconscious state, a person's deepest, most precious secrets are laid bare. This concept is unreal. He's an absolute genius."

Amber Heard's excitement surged as she gazed at these larger-than-life figures, once so distant, now close enough to touch. Her heart burned hotter by the second.
