Entertainment: Starting as a Succubus, Taking Hollywood by Storm

Chapter 832: Where’s Wonder Woman?

"Hey, Gal, got time tonight? Dinner's on me," Vin Diesel offered with a grin.

Gal Gadot flashed a polite smile, gently declining his vague invitation. "Sorry, Vin, I've got plans."

"Really? Who with? Can you cancel? I've got something work-related to discuss," he pressed.

"It's someone important. I can't back out," she replied.

"More important than me?" Vin's inflated ego left Gal momentarily speechless.

Suddenly, the set buzzed with excitement. Actors, crew, even assistants surged in one direction.

"Boss? Martin?!" Gal exclaimed, stunned.

"Yep, Mr. Meyers himself! Let me go—heard he's handing out gems. Guy's got deep pockets. I don't wanna miss out!" A crew member slipped from Gal's grasp and bolted.

Vin shrugged, curious about these "gems" and confident Gal wasn't slipping away from him. He joined the crowd without further pressing her.

Martin was indeed distributing gems—specifically, jade pendants. He'd spent $500 on white jade of decent quality, each piece carved with the mysterious character. Spotting Paul Walker, Martin recalled his tragic death in a car accident years later. Unable to resist, he said, "Hey, man, I hear you love racing. Be careful out there."

Paul paused, then nodded. "Thanks for the heads-up. I will."

Unbeknownst to Martin, Paul's fatal crash wasn't his fault—his friend Roger Rodas was driving. Neither survived. Paul reportedly died from trauma and burns after the car exploded, a far worse fate than a quick crash.

Noticing Gal's evasive glance, Martin sensed her move was calculated, likely to signal something to Vin Diesel trailing behind.

"I get it," Martin said with a knowing look. "I'm sure others do too."

Later, Vin pulled Gal aside, apologetic. "Sorry, I didn't realize you and Mr. Meyers… Look, let's just say my earlier comments were a joke, okay?"

Gal hadn't expected Martin's name to be such an effective shield. She breathed a quiet sigh of relief.

That evening, Gal left the set. She hadn't entirely lied to Vin—she did have plans, with her boyfriend, Yaron Versano. In fact, the two had secretly married in Israel in 2008, though they hadn't announced it publicly.

Yaron, ten years Gal's senior, wasn't in the entertainment industry. Born in Amsterdam, he moved to Israel as a child. He and his brother Guy ran a successful real estate company with considerable wealth. In 2008, the same year they wed, Gal came to Hollywood and landed her role as Gisele in Fast & Furious 4.

"Has that bald guy been bothering you again?" Yaron asked.

"Nah, I turned him down a few times, and he's backed off," Gal replied, conveniently omitting how she'd "used" Martin's name to fend him off.

"Good." Yaron grinned. "You know, on my way here, I passed Santa Monica Square. They were doing a promo event for Inception—answer questions right, get a small gift. I gave it a shot. Guess what?" He pulled a small box from his bag and handed it to her. "I aced it. Lucky you're such a Martin fan—I've picked up plenty about Inception from you."

Gal's eyes lit up as she took the gift, though Martin's face flashed in her mind.

"Gal, what's that around your neck? New necklace? What is that mysterious character?" Yaron asked, pointing to the jade pendant she'd received earlier.
