Chapter 38- Lilith and Luna’s small talk

Mira finished the day feeling exhausted. She threw herself on the sofa as soon as she got home. She wanted to go straight to dreamland if possible; however, she would feel uncomfortable if she couldn't take a bath at night, so she reluctantly got up and cleaned herself and changed into casual home clothes. She dragged her exhausted body to bed and was about to fall asleep when, for a moment, she forgot that she hadn't eaten anything yet. But she was too sleepy to get up now. In the end, she just drank a glass of water that she had brought into her room and went straight to sleep.

Mira forgot that she still needed to talk to Luna. So the next day when she woke up, she saw a few missed calls from Luna and a few messages. Obviously, the other party got worried as she didn't give any response. Mira lazily replied to Luna, then after a few seconds, she received a call from Luna.

"Hello?" Mira asked with a hoarse voice, as she had just woken up and still wasn't up yet.

"Still sleeping?"

"I'm so exhausted yesterday,"

"What about today?"

"It's okay now,"

"I see,"

"Last night… I really forgot that you had something to say to me,"

"About that… ahem… I actually had something to say to you yesterday, and it was related to your Mom, but Aunt said she will tell it to you herself, so just wait for Aunt," Luna explained.

"Is it serious?"

"Yeah,"

"Okay, I got it."

"It's already morning there, right? You should get up now and eat some breakfast before you go to work,"

"En," Mira responded lazily.

Luna was speechless and felt helpless. Somehow, she wanted to nag on Mira, but somehow she felt it was inappropriate.

"I'm hanging up now," Luna actually still wanted to talk to Mira, but tonight her Mom and Aunt Maria were going to pack their things that they would bring to Mira.

"Alright, bye~"

"Bye,"

Luna quickly changed and looked for her mother. She knew that now that her Mom and Aunt Maria's relationship was good, she understood that her Mom sincerely wanted to apologize to Mira, although she doubted as to why they had to go to the US personally when the internet was more convenient now.

"Mom, how long are you going to stay there?" Luna asked as she sat down on the bed, watching her mother choose some clothes to pack.

"We'll be staying there for at least two to three days,"

"Won't you tell Mira in advance?"

"Ari said that it's better not to inform Mira. That kid seems too busy,"

"Mom… since you want to apologize to Mira, does that mean it's okay for me now to make friends with her?" Luna asked hesitantly, although she was already friends with Mira. She still wanted to know if her mother still had the same opinion as before.

Lilith squinted her eyes sideways, glancing at her daughter as if she heard something not so funny. "You're asking me this when you're already close to her that you can go anytime to her mother's house? What's the point? I bet that even before you graduated from College, you're already close to her, even when I repeatedly warned you not to do so."

"Mom, it's not like that. You know… she's always alone, and… she's really good at studying. Besides, at that time, I really listened to you. It's just when I had an opportunity to talk to her, I realized that she's not bad, and your misunderstanding with Aunt Maria has nothing to do with me and her, so…"

"So you go ahead and make friends with her?"

"Yeah, but it can't be called friendship. It's hard to get close to her. She's really cold and indifferent to anyone,"

Lilith raised her eyebrows as she listened to her daughter and found it interesting. Although she was close to her daughter, her daughter rarely talked about her friends and had some personal opinions about them. Although she couldn't imagine how her daughter got close to Mira, but thinking about how mature, distant, and cold Mira was, she knew her daughter might be the one who took the first step.

"You had a hard time," Lilith commented.

"Yeah, however even now, I just don't know if she only talks to me because of Aunt Maria," Luna said weakly. It was true that she and Mira got along well now, but it all started because of Mira's mother.

Lilith saw some worries on her daughter's face, although she got a little irritated knowing her daughter was willing to take the initiative to approach the person who she didn't know if could appreciate the effort.

"Does Mira only call and talk to you about Maria?" Lilith asked coldly.

Luna didn't notice her mother's tone, as she was busy thinking about Mira. "Not really. Sometimes, we will call each other to talk about other stuff and some experiences about our work. She doesn't ask too much about her mother,"

Lilith eased her mood. "Then maybe she already accepted you as her friend,"

"Really?"

"Really,"

"That's great. By the way, Mom, can you please give this to her too?" Luna asked. She then handed a blue exquisite box.

"A pen?" Lilith asked.

"Yeah,"

"Why do you have to give her an expensive gift?" Lilith asked in doubt.

"Because… because I think she will like it. There's no need to give her a gift when there's only an occasion," Luna answered. But the truth was, when you like someone, you would always want to give something to them, even if there's no occasion. Of course, Luna wouldn't dare to tell it to her mother yet.

Lilith still doubted her daughter, then she got an idea but she denied it quickly. For Lilith, her daughter was still a kid with a serious attitude in serious matters. And if Luna really liked someone, as her mother, she believed that Luna would tell it to her.

"Okay, I'll give it to her." Lilith zipped her luggage. "Let's go to your Aunt Maria's house now. I'm already done here,"

"Okay," Luna smiled happily.
