Thus begins my life as a Dragon
I wake up with tinnitus and a strange sound between the same ears, a dizziness, like a fall.
I heard the primal sound of the dragon, the cry of the ancestors, a saurian cry, a transcendental cry.
The cry of a plesiosaurus or a pterodactile.
SRRREEEEEKKKKKKK.
I had his echo in my head all the time.
That scream drove me crazy.
What was he? Who was he?
A call?
A powerful call.
A music?
The earth was spinning around me.
I felt the power, the life, the death.
I was the king of an antediluvian world. All creatures were inferior to me.
The sun was rising as it rocked me.
I was above the clouds, yellowed by the sun that folded and knelt before me.
Everywhere I looked I saw the life and beauty of the world.
Waterfalls, endless forests. The seas, the islands and this soothing and relaxing light.
I was flying... I was the sky..
I went to the bottom of a valley with exotic trees that no longer exist, only petrified.
The large carboniferous forest.
Then I ate in the small lake at the foot of the waterfall.
Birds sang and a gentle wind lifted me up and, effortlessly, I let myself be rocked and carried by the wind. I followed the sun in its mad rush.
Then I landed on tall grass rocked by the summer sun, at the edge of a forest and a small dog ran and came towards me, followed by my cousins, dressed in white and they jumped into the grass to catch the grasshoppers.
Mom and Dad were watching over me preparing the nick pick on a plaid tablecloth.
Mom would caress my hair and give me a kiss on the forehead.
As I was good, then the wind came back to me and carried me to a sloping clearing and on each side there were big, huge trees and Eric had come to play with me in the woods....We were screaming and the echo came back to us. Behind the forest, a valley, the valley of fairies... But on this sunny road there was the raspberry valley... we ran between the plants and our mouths were full of raspberries... Then we went back to a small round house with a nice old lady who gave us ice cream... the lake, the water was so warm, we took an inflatable boat and let the wind rock us.
At the end of the lake we arrived at the round and sweet grass road.
We crawled on all fours and we arrived at the blueberry valley...
My friend who came to play with me had a bucket full of these seeds and I stood on my back, feet in a tiny stream with clear, slightly sparkling water.
The sun was setting very slowly and the rays were passing under the trees. Then I walked towards a rock, or rather a cliff that extended under my feet.
My friends and family who were with me said, "Jump!"
I was afraid to fall, but on the other side there was a circle of stones.
I jumped and spread my wings and the warm, humid air propelled me into the sky where I met the moon.
And the fairy veil covered the valley and a whirlwind appeared in the stone circle.
"Emily, we all love you, don't forget us!" I made a dragon's cry and roared at my world and, from there, I went up and saw the round earth and the moon and the round sun and the stars that were looking at me.
The sun's rays rocked my cheeks and I smiled for the first time in a long time and I closed my eyes, carried away by the currents of the sun around my world, rocked by a pleasant music....
When I opened my eyes again, I was on a pile of straw in my cave, the sun stroking my cheeks.
The music was moving away
I could see the panorama spreading to infinity and the sun's rays piercing huge columns of light through the morning mist.
I wanted to lie down and yes, I was no longer human but a dragon.
What's a human? Who's Emily? What am I doing here?
I looked at my three-fingered legs/hands and an opposite claw like a thumb and 2 huge fingers that stretched a membrane attached to my sides and arms.
I knew things but I didn't know how I knew...
My name??? What is it now??? Ruby??? maybe???
Then a comforting presence arrived... Mom...
My red mother-in-law. It was beautiful when it landed with its wings apart and the sun pierced through its membranes.
She had a huge smile on her face.
Long powerful fingers, smooth and sharp nails but she was always careful not to cut or hurt me.
She was very sweet to me....
I loved her hugs and kisses...
She gave me the food and I loved that unique taste... Like a mother who gives milk to her children...
I was so happy that tears fell by themselves and I had tremors.
Joy certainly, not sadness, I was sure... how could such a nice mother make me sad?
I jumped around his neck. "MAman, honey, what are we going to do today?
Rudia: "We'll teach you to fly"
But before I brought you food. It is kept alive just before eating or it hardens and rots in a few hours.
You have a few sharp teeth now...
You see, Mr. Rabbit is kind..... He'll give you his life so you'll be happy and you can taste his juice, red like Mom...."
Oh yes, red juice!!!
Rudia:" It's like a fruit, you have to cut it off or you lose all the juice. You can later cook the juice directly down your throat when your flames take root in your belly."
Me:" Oh yes, flames in my belly... I look forward to having some..."
Rabbit: "Beautiful strap, come and bite me... I'm delicious, I have plenty of juice just for you....
If you eat me, I can be part of you and fly through you. Hurry, hurry, hurry, bite me. The rabbit gave me a huge smile...
Thank you Mr. Lapinot, CRUNCH
I made only one bite of it and its juice flowed down my throat, like a nectar!
MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY, MOMMY!
It was delicious Mr. LAPINOT... There are others???? He must have a family... She must be happy that I ate PAPA Lapinot....
Quick, quick, quick, we have to find their daughters and sons and Madam
Rudia frowned for a moment and gave me a beautiful smile again.
She sang a beautiful bass melody and all the animals in the forest were smiling. They must have enjoyed Mom's singing... (GROOOAAAAAAARRRRRRR, Pity, pity, naaaaaaan crunch...)
Mom loved herbs and she would bring me all kinds of them and lay them on the fire and the smoke would invade the cave and then change colour.
Mom was a rainbow.
It was blue, then yellow and green and finally pink...
The walls of my cave glittered and were painted pink.
My diaper was a huge raspberry and I loved lying on it.
But sometimes it would crunch and snap like a bone, probably raspberry seeds.
One day Mom brought me a big pink apple and it smelled good like pâtée and she told me, you can eat it... Inside when you broke the shell, he's the best... Brain juice... It's like oranges, taste it!
After scraping the flesh of the big fruit full of juice, the shell gave way under pressure and a fruit nectar flowed down my throat.
But I had a flash of red everywhere and then it disappeared when the pink smoke covered the fruit.
"Mom, it was delicious, look, I'm crying with joy...."
I left for the world of dreams, but this time the fairy circle had a pink sheen. A girl in white with fairy wings, like dragonflies, smiled at me and waved at me to come and see... she wanted to show me something but the pink smoke made her laugh and she flew faster than me and we always got lost in the pink smoke.
