Elemental chaos

Axel was all pumped to start his studies and dive deep into the foundations of this magical world. He wanted to know what makes this world tick and how he could utilize his newfound talents to his advantage. But before he could start another conversation with Gizmo, a servant had come to tend to him.

Axel knew he still had to depend on help for his daily activities, but he hated how the servants treated him. They were aware that he was a son of the noble, although a cripple, still way high in the social standings compared to them, but still, the servants had been mistreating him for quite some time.

Axel did not mind the occasional discomfort, but things were starting to get irritating with the passing days. He was focused on gaining knowledge and widening his perspective with Gizmo, but daily a different servant would try and harass him. Axel had become a pastime for the servants of the household, they would place bets on who could make the young master soil his pants or who could make the tears fall off Axel's eyes the fastest.

They gained a rush of adrenaline and a sense of importance and power by harassing someone of his stature. But these days their delights have been cut short as Axel had regained control of his body, he deprived the servants of their pleasure as no matter what, he would not cry or soil his clothes.

Due to Axel's perseverance, he does not react to the acts of the servants. Undeterred, the servants intensified their cruelty. But in doing so, they had inadvertently gained entry into Axel's list of revenge, and he was biding his time, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

Gizmo has been teaching elements (light element in particular) to Axel for more than 3 months now. Gizmo has been more than surprised at how intuitive Axel is and how great his understanding of the logic and structure of things is. Gizmo initially discounted Axel's intelligence on account of him being a scientist on Earth, but he later realized that even for the most intelligent human on Earth, such a level of intuitiveness and genius was impossible.

Gizmo decided to stop pondering about Axel's intelligence and simply taught him all that he could. A year passed by, and now the servants had lost their interest in Axel and left him alone for most of the time, but this posed another challenge as now they often even forgot to feed him, and due to this Axel was often left starving.

During this period, Gizmo also familiarized itself with its own functions, and Axel and Gizmo came to a similar conclusion that Gizmo was sort of a bio-enhancement system with its own AI and an extensive and premium library to complement its functions.With the help of Gizmo, Axel was able to maintain his health even after being starved most of the time. However, he had to remain motionless most of the time during the day to restrict his energy consumption.

Gizmo continuously stimulated each of Axel's muscles to make them grow optimally even after near-zero movement. Just by having Gizmo, Axel could ensure optimal body growth, no matter the circumstances. Moreover, Gizmo was also uncovering more secrets associated with its own existence and in future would be a huge help to Axel.

With the help of Gizmo, Axel had decided upon a schedule of sorts wherein he would learn all the important stuff in the morning while being completely motionless (sometimes the servants and even Anya would wonder, how someone can be so still throughout the day), and during the night, he would try and sense the elements all around him.

Seeing the monstrous talent of Axel, Gizmo had decided the best time for him to try and sense the light element would be at night when the element was very hard to sense but not absent (to make the task more challenging but effective). Light is always present; it is our eyes that are accustomed/attuned to a certain quantity of it.

Axel was also taking time to study the structure of skills and how skills work. He was giving this topic a lot of thought and pondering on which type of skill to go for. According to Gizmo, learning a skill prior to becoming an Elementalist would be too difficult, but Axel was certain that if he tried to learn a skill that ticked enough boxes in the list that he had thought of, then he might succeed.

This schedule of theirs went on for another year, Axel had perfected his senses for elements sensing and not just for the elements he had an affinity for but all. Axel could now perfectly sense all elements and elemental fluctuations. The extent of his ability was still relatively low, but his ability was a thing to marvel at.

Even Gizmo was flabbergasted by the genius of its host, he never imagined he would come across a fellow as intuitive as Axel, it was as if Axel's existence was for the sole purpose of exploring and conquering the realm of elements.
